in love with the proportion of the photo and the centered postion of the object and the depth of field that allows her to sit atop these layers and stand out in this crowded street… simple but beautiful
October 11, 2011 at 6:04 pm
What a beautiful picture.
This is one of my big dreams, to rid a bike on streets of Europe.
Love this picture, love the post
October 11, 2011 at 6:06 pm
I love this photograph. The light is so pretty and so is the woman on the bike.
October 11, 2011 at 6:11 pm
she’s got a cindy crawford vibe, and a great frame, but she’s sooo thin. i’m not quite sure if i’m supposed to be jealous or offended.
October 11, 2011 at 6:12 pm
Una combinación perfecta: elegancia, sencillez y belleza. Preciosa!
October 11, 2011 at 6:15 pm
I think so many times we’re much more caught up the fashion aspect of your pictures. While this photograph still shows all those aspects, what really shines is your great pure photographic ability. Your awareness to capture such a beautiful essence and moment of life. Nobody could plan or stage such a perfect shot. You just have to be conscious and aware to shoot real life, in this photo you’ve done that masterfully.
October 11, 2011 at 6:17 pm
This is beautifully composed, almost out of some beautiful classic movie…
October 11, 2011 at 6:22 pm
Amazing shot Scott very beautiful girl, and this is shot in one of my favorite streets in Paris!
October 11, 2011 at 6:23 pm
Her face reminds me of a thoughtful, young, less curvy version of Cindy Crawford.
October 11, 2011 at 6:26 pm
traffic stopping …
So jealous of this shot :-0…I love this women how nonchalant is she…
October 11, 2011 at 6:27 pm
in a strapless dress, atop a bicycle, mounted and fierce, she bares her clavicle, sharp, ready for attack.
amidst the sea, the salt of man.
October 11, 2011 at 6:34 pm
She looks worried but she is still beautiful. It looks like Cindy Crawford.

Polka dots. The ultimate French staple, or at least the rest of the world thinks so.
Beautiful picture, I like the moment very much, it seems to be the late afternoon when everybody returns home and/or is preparing to go out.
Kisses from Greece!

October 12, 2011 at 6:08 am
She is riding a Velib (Parisian municipal rental bike)! I love Paris so much! This could be a great advertising shot for the bike service.

October 12, 2011 at 7:34 am
Such a ‘french’ photo, everyone drives around on those bikes in Paris. I love the shot, it looks great with that blurry car and then the woman in focus!
October 12, 2011 at 8:17 am
October 12, 2011 at 8:26 am
At a very quick glance she looks a touch like Cindy Crawford.. Love her attire..
October 12, 2011 at 8:53 am
She looks so parisian! The photo must be taken a couple of weeks ago, when there was a heat wave in Paris, yesterday it was like +15 there!
October 12, 2011 at 9:55 am
Love the poetry of this picture, really beautiful!
October 12, 2011 at 9:57 am
She’s beautiful! (french? italian? portuguese? spanish? – a latin she is, for sure!)
October 12, 2011 at 10:07 am
Quintessential French! Tu me maque, Paris!
October 12, 2011 at 10:29 am
Look at her grip on the handlebars with 3 fingers on the levers. She’s used to ride a motorbike.
Dans la circulation lourde sans aucune protection, elles sont folles ces Françaises, mais tellement belles.
October 12, 2011 at 10:33 am
She’s a nubile beauty, with a touch of almost lanky.
Yet she radiates strength while navigating on that bike.
Sinewy never looked this good. Perhaps it never would. Again.
Bravo. Good shot.
October 12, 2011 at 11:28 am
her shoulders and arms are so sexy
October 12, 2011 at 11:51 am
I have never biked with a dress on. How chick! Have to try it some time…
October 12, 2011 at 12:33 pm
WWWWWWWWOOOWW!! LOVE THE PICTURE!!
October 12, 2011 at 12:38 pm
A beautiful shot, perfect with the light. She’s a little too skinny and muscular for my taste though.
October 12, 2011 at 1:19 pm
Did you get another full shot of her?
October 12, 2011 at 2:20 pm
Beautiful night time photo. The lighting adds some sort of mystery to her.
October 12, 2011 at 2:46 pm
She looks gorgeous. I love the mix of casualness and sophistication : a strapless dress on a bike. I love her hair too.
October 12, 2011 at 4:02 pm
I love this photograph. A departure from your normal composition Sartorialist.
October 12, 2011 at 4:28 pm
I love your work, but what is this infatuation with very thin, anorexic looking women?
Where are the curvy, Marilyn Monroe, full figured ladies? The short and plump fashionistas?
What an unfortunate way to waste a talent when the focus is only geared towards one body type. It’s a shame.
October 12, 2011 at 9:11 pm
This picture captures such a strong sense of place and person, it’s as if you’ve captured a Parisian story: day into evening, in her strapless black and slightly sparkly evening dress cycling down the rue Saint Honore in Paris… my imagination runs wild! going to a lovely dinner? then some great concert with friends? she’ll pull up on her bicycle, smiling, and have a wonderful evening! This is one of my most favorite pictures here…
October 12, 2011 at 9:51 pm
This photo is amazing. The way you could catch her on the fly and center her in the shot just before she became obscured by traffic is wonderful timing. I hope she finds this photo, frames it, hangs it on her wall, and looks back on it fondly well into her old age.
October 13, 2011 at 2:57 am
Che bella foto!
October 13, 2011 at 3:24 am
What an absolutely striking woman. This shot is so captivating.

Makes me want to hop on the Eurostar and go to Paris this weekend.
Nice frock, but I hope she’s off to get herself a good meal.
October 13, 2011 at 8:51 am
Wow! And my cousin has just told me that they usually use 600 grams of butter to make 20 croissants in France :)
October 13, 2011 at 10:16 am
Cette photo à la dérobée et à la nuit tombée est vraiment sublime.
Son visage est si expressif que l’ on pourrait presque écrire une histoire rien qu’en la regardant. Joli robe aussi !
October 13, 2011 at 11:40 am
I find this picture perfect. Because of the women and shoot.

How candid! A common sight at Rue Saint-Honore — women with their designer bags in bikes.
October 14, 2011 at 5:44 am
Love the picture, and the girl is really beautifull
October 14, 2011 at 9:15 am
love the realistic of this shot. It’s refreshing and subtle.
October 14, 2011 at 1:58 pm
A very pretty face, rather thin though.
October 14, 2011 at 2:12 pm
The shot is beautiful. She has a very pretty face, rather thin though.
October 14, 2011 at 3:10 pm
Greast shot, she is stunning!!!!
Nene (A princess in the making)
October 15, 2011 at 1:16 pm
I want to be cycling with her and then we stop for a glass of wine, say goodbye and continue with our shopping! So Paris, just so parisienne. Looking at my frequent flyer miles right now! Just a story in a photo. Wonderful!
October 15, 2011 at 6:21 pm
This is a beautiful photo– the aesthetics of the 60s married to the unhealthy modern obsession with extreme skinniness. The fact that I shudder while simultaneously admiring your artistry and her beautiful expression is what makes this capture so unique and powerful I think.
October 24, 2011 at 6:42 pm
Isn’t this the poster for that film ‘Sex y Lucia’ or whatever?
