Simples e elegante!
October 3, 2011 at 8:11 pm
OOOh! I have that bag, LL Bean! All the simplicity is stunning!
October 3, 2011 at 8:19 pm
What a beautiful picture!
October 3, 2011 at 8:36 pm
I am not sure about tattoos of phrases along arms – especially forearms and undersides of the upper arm – Makes me shudder a bit looking like branding from another nightmarish time.
That said the dress and bag are strikingly geometrical and standout in the shot just like the linear and vertical reality of the urban environment. Intentional or not Scott it is a beautiful juxtaposition!
OK, I give up, what’s the tat on her bicep?
October 3, 2011 at 8:41 pm
Nice looking young woman…….but I’d rather see photos of the Occupy Wall Street protesters. That’s what’s really going on these days.
October 3, 2011 at 8:43 pm
wow this is beautiful
October 3, 2011 at 8:48 pm
Great tat! Love the silhouette.
October 3, 2011 at 8:50 pm
VIII XXIX = 8 29…. I wonder what it stands for. Loving the minimalist look. From her short hair to her flats, it’s a look that’s anything but plain.
October 3, 2011 at 8:53 pm
LOvely unconstructed dress. So feminine. The pose is gorgeous. It reminds me of something, but I can’t think of what. I mean I realize she is hailing a cab, but it puts me in mind of something else.
October 3, 2011 at 9:00 pm
Thank goodness she didn’t belt it or wear any jewelry or anything stupid like that. She wears it just how she should. Not even a watch on her! Perfection!
October 3, 2011 at 9:05 pm
OH I LOVE THE STRUCTURE!!!!
AND WHO DOES THAT LEGNTH ANYMORE…
What does her tattoo say? I love her Hamptons on the weekend look!
October 3, 2011 at 9:06 pm

October 3, 2011 at 9:29 pm
haircut, outfit, tattoo. everything about this works beautifully on her.
October 3, 2011 at 9:30 pm
my goodness, I love her!!
October 3, 2011 at 9:33 pm
Wonderful lines here. The tattoo on the inside of her arm really makes this.

October 3, 2011 at 9:42 pm
Love the bag….. such a great look!
October 3, 2011 at 9:55 pm
Amazing photograph. I love how the simple act of waving for a taxi can look so graceful and happy.
October 3, 2011 at 10:01 pm
This picture gives me a sense of freedom. Nice shot!
October 3, 2011 at 10:27 pm
I am such a fan of the inside arm tattoo!
October 3, 2011 at 10:39 pm
fabulous yet simple .. .
i like it!
October 3, 2011 at 10:49 pm
Columnistic without the curves — not that interesting, and the tattoo just looks like unnatural hair growth.
October 3, 2011 at 10:52 pm
Very elegant yet the tattoo adds flair!
October 3, 2011 at 11:00 pm
I like how the shape of her bag mirrors the shape of her dress, plus the color scheme is nice.

The dress has such an unconventional and lovely silhouette. Graceful and simplistic capture.
October 3, 2011 at 11:35 pm
This looks like a big dumb grey sack.
or she is stuck in a roll of industrial carpet.
has victim written all over it!!
October 4, 2011 at 12:22 am
love the style of the girl!!!!
October 4, 2011 at 12:45 am
Hopefully that’s a pen and not a cigarette in that extended hand…
October 4, 2011 at 12:58 am
Her tattoo is reminiscent of the ones the Nazi’s put on people’s arms. It’s horrible. Especially on such a beautiful person.
Perhaps she’s never met a survivor of the Nazi concentration camps?
Jane with the noisy terrier
October 4, 2011 at 1:39 am
Graceful and elegant photo. “8 and 29″… Maybe she’s trying to get to 8th Ave and West 29th Street!
October 4, 2011 at 1:46 am
don’t like the tattoo, but apart from that she looks very casual chic en elegant
October 4, 2011 at 1:59 am
So sleek! I’m loving the restraint of this look.
October 4, 2011 at 2:53 am
i love the simplicity of the outfit, yet it is so effective!

Love the colours.
Graphite grey. N.Y taxi yellow. Brick red. Ivory white.
These colours would be lovely in flowers. =)
October 4, 2011 at 3:53 am
I REALLY LOVE THAT STYLE!
A WONDERFUL MIX OF SIMPLICITY AND ELEGANCE!
October 4, 2011 at 3:55 am
I love how natural and relaxed the photo looks. Such a nice casual outfit
October 4, 2011 at 4:02 am
wow love the bag! :)
October 4, 2011 at 4:04 am
Gorgous lines, and the bag is awesome !
October 4, 2011 at 4:05 am

October 4, 2011 at 4:12 am
simple & elegance
October 4, 2011 at 4:19 am
The word is volume. Not for me. She’s got beautiful hair and posture but I would offset the long big dress with a teeny tiny bag. Now, in case I needed the large bag for practical purposes I would use something flat-er.
Kisses from Greece!
October 4, 2011 at 4:46 am
Very, very elegant! Nice dress
October 4, 2011 at 4:47 am
I love the picture, so chic!
October 4, 2011 at 5:02 am
Gorgeous hair, so chic. Seems effortless with the ballerina flats, but elegant as well. Tattoo a bit sexy … usually I dislike, but on her-sexy-elegant-cool.
October 4, 2011 at 5:03 am
SUCH A LOOK, AMAZING!!!
October 4, 2011 at 5:04 am
The hair-so chic! Relaxed with the ballerina flats, yet so elegant with the dress. I usually dislike tattoos–but on her, sexy-elegant-cool! http://blog.likebright.com/

An updated Audrey Hepburn look. very nice but I don’t like tats!
October 4, 2011 at 5:23 am
I love her style! so simple and amazing
October 4, 2011 at 5:36 am
awesome shot, wonder what her tat says! :)
October 4, 2011 at 5:55 am
beautiful bag. I am not sure about the dress, too long and too straight.
October 4, 2011 at 6:00 am
This shapeless dress makes even a tall beautiful woman with a great figure look terrible. I can’t imagine an average woman in this thing.
IS THIS IT? models review
October 4, 2011 at 6:38 am
I’m personally not a super-fan of such a super-minimalism… but at least it’s a coherent look with a sense: what I really can’t stand is the clutter of casual elements…
October 4, 2011 at 6:52 am
Let’s dance …
October 4, 2011 at 7:35 am
love the minimalist look … wonder what her kitchen is like …?
October 4, 2011 at 7:56 am
This is freedom!
October 4, 2011 at 8:07 am
This is a beautiful picture, it reminds me of one of those great NY movies, where there is always a stylish woman hailing a cap.
Nice, really nice!
October 4, 2011 at 8:08 am
her frock and her bag, oversized, allowing her body to stay camouflaged and protected. the drape gracefully across and around her, statuesque.
October 4, 2011 at 8:39 am
LOVE that bag.
October 4, 2011 at 8:49 am
Love how simple this is. Beautiful.
clarity enhanced diamonds
October 4, 2011 at 9:09 am
She is just so elegant!
October 4, 2011 at 9:26 am
I really like the dress/purse/shoes color match.
The vertical stretch leads the eyes to the building heights.
Personaly I would like to see more depth of field focus.
The tattoo is repulsive.
October 4, 2011 at 9:53 am
What a lovely shape, though I think the dress and the bag combo is a little overpowering. She could use some height with the structured look.
October 4, 2011 at 10:10 am
love the geometry of it, for one.
all around excellent!
October 4, 2011 at 10:22 am
Nice capture of body pose at extremities, but a shapeless body bag of a dress.
October 4, 2011 at 10:43 am
Love the outfit and the artwork on her arm. :) xoxo
Ah, what can I say? Fab, fab, fab!
Her sunnies go so well with the grey of her dress.
October 4, 2011 at 11:13 am
8-29 (In Roman Numerals) must mean something special to her.
An August 29th date of birth would be my guess.
Happy Belated Birthday, Mystery Girl!
And Best Wishes Always.
And if you’re going to get a tattoo, I’d rather see it someplace like there.
October 4, 2011 at 11:56 am
Love, love, love!
October 4, 2011 at 12:13 pm
Adore the juxtaposition of the ladylike pump, architectural dress and bag and then the unexpected twist the tattoo – which in this case i like, like a lot x
October 4, 2011 at 12:32 pm
Absolutely fantastic! So simple, so perfect!

October 4, 2011 at 12:56 pm
I love the polarized comments here …. and the inevitable comments on the tattoo, which is subtle to me, and irrelevant.
I love the combo here – the hair, dress, flats. I’d be tempted to style this with a bold belt, but it works without, too. There is nothing “dumb” or “victim” about this look as commented above.
October 4, 2011 at 12:59 pm
She’s lovely, but I find this dress a bit unflattering in its looseness and length. The pieces all work well together, but I think the whole look might have been far better with some inches off the length.
October 4, 2011 at 1:12 pm
The simplicity of this outfit really makes it work, she looks great!

October 4, 2011 at 1:44 pm
A clear & coherent expression of a personal style executed with grace. I find this impressive.
I love that bag so clean and nice…cool!

Grabs me the beauty of simplicity in the architectural design of this dress

Did she forget her phone number? Funny tat. It’s just Roman Numeral under closer inspection.

She was modeling
at Pier 59 Studios…
just a guess.
I’m still wondering;
about that dress.
October 4, 2011 at 3:01 pm
Absolutely love it ! The photo is amazing and she looks so gorgeous !
October 4, 2011 at 3:43 pm
This is all wrong. Her frame is too small for such a large long dress. Her feet and legs look miniscule, smallishly deformed. I love big bags on a frame that can support them, she obviously cannot. I am a woman over six feet, and I would reconsider this outfit if I were to put it on.
October 4, 2011 at 4:25 pm
JUST FEELS GOOD THIS PHOTO……
I LOVE TO SEE A WOMEN WEARING “FLATS”…
October 4, 2011 at 5:10 pm
Its a date. August 29th. Its possibly a birthday, or a day she met someone, or a date for some other reason important to her. The tat I mean. But I just can’t get over her grace of movement.
October 4, 2011 at 9:59 pm
She is lovely, as is her movement. However, I feel if she wasn’t stretched and twisted the way she is the dress would hang like a shapeless sack. The fabric looks very heavy/thick as well, adding to the sack. Perhaps a gorgeous moment in a functional dress.
October 4, 2011 at 10:07 pm
I like the tattoo. It is understated, in an easily covered position, and it has meaning to her. To say it is a holocaust tattoo is misguided, unkind, and wrong. You don’t have to like tattoo’s but be respectful.
The tattoos in the holocaust were on the forearm, were not roman numerals, and looked like the type of tattoo done with a pen and a safety pin, as prison tattoos are done now. My great grandfather had one and I promise you, it was nothing like this.

Loved the look. Modern, simple and chic. Perfect for a day in the city.
October 5, 2011 at 9:20 am
I have the same shoes (J. Crew, if I’m not mistaken).
October 5, 2011 at 9:42 am
tattoos, or smoking for that matter are a personal choice and ought not to be the subject of attack in a format such as this… although we all should have the choice to not be exposed to other peoples’ smoke. having said that, I admire her look, dramatic without being fussy. love the flats!
October 5, 2011 at 11:24 am
Google 8 29 and this is what comes up:
New International Version (NIV)
29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

Cool photo, cool look, cool tattoo!
October 6, 2011 at 12:47 pm
The look is fantastic!
October 6, 2011 at 4:00 pm
Not many women have the confidence to NOT accentuate their waist. Its like we are programed to think that the hourglass is the only way. But once you get over that mental hurdle, you start seeing the possibilities. Seeing this dress looking so perfect on a short girl like that helps me to have more confidence with the straighter lines. I wonder if others out there have to fight themselves to NOT belt things.
September 29, 2014 at 4:38 pm
Except that this woman is at least 5’10″. I know her personally.
October 7, 2011 at 10:15 pm
Fab photo! Lovely young lady and great hand bag!
October 8, 2011 at 5:36 pm
the tattoo is for her mothers death, so not as trashy as some may think. laura looks great here, if only you caught her with her twin the photo would be even more stunning. great shot.

October 16, 2011 at 3:32 am
She’s like an updated version of Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly hailing a taxi cab! =)
October 19, 2011 at 12:15 am
My thoughts exacly Elisha! I agree – definitely Holly Golightly -esque!
October 29, 2011 at 4:04 pm
