it also helps (at least a little?) that the guy has a harmonious, well structured body. :)

classic and modern at the same time.
i love the combination of both… the white pocket square, simple blue suit, monk strap shoes, but with a great cut, a skinny tie.
November 6, 2007 at 9:49 am
Yes, even without the hair, he’d look impeccable.

Lovely suit. I would never wear those shoes with it however. Am I being too conservative when I believe that I must only wear lace-ups with a suit?
On another note: All the scaffolding all over Manhattan has ruined the street scape and makes appreciating some buildings impossible.
(What a fuddy-duddy I am this morning! Maybe a couple more hours of sleep will help.)

a shaved head (short hair it’s also ok)would just be WOW!!!
November 6, 2007 at 10:16 am
Very well turned out and a goodlooking guy
Living proof that simple chic is always best.
November 6, 2007 at 11:09 am
gosh, he’s handsome! he looks like he could wear a perfect hanes tshirt, vintage levis, and classic converse and look just as good…yes, he’s look just as dramatic. his pose definitely helps; the slight slouch, devil-may-care attitude it conveys helps.

I don’t know much about men’s fashion other than that which I instinctively like and don’t like. *This* I like very much. The hair, the cut of the shirt, the fit of the suit – gorgeous.
November 6, 2007 at 11:15 am
Everything is tip-top, except the shoes, which are inelegant and clunky….
November 6, 2007 at 11:41 am
He reminds me of a young William Hurt. Very nice…But was he actually leaning on the scaffolding when you found him? So perfect, so editorial.
November 6, 2007 at 11:53 am
he looks great, amazing hair
positively the same dame
November 6, 2007 at 11:56 am
alice olive says it best by describing the look as “impeccable” which, to me, makes it something other than cool.
November 6, 2007 at 12:12 pm
The hair keeps this from being too conservative for me. I wonder if it would work for him to add a little splash of bright color somewhere…tie, shirt or pocket square maybe?
November 6, 2007 at 12:22 pm
Too true about the hair!
I love when a man puts some style into his hair…so much in fact, that I began cutting and colouring my husband’s hair for him.
November 6, 2007 at 12:33 pm
*picks her jaw up off the floor*
oh, he’s cool, all right, hair or no hair. the suit is quite dashing. look at those eyes. *ahem*
November 6, 2007 at 1:49 pm
With or without the hair, the gentleman hits all the right notes (except for the shoes!). He’s very handsome and I just love the hair. I bet Graydon Carter believes his hair looks JUST like that : )!
November 6, 2007 at 1:59 pm
I wonder if you can see the full body harness through the suit…LOL!The Hair is the part I love the most about him. The suit is impeccably appointed, yes..but really it’s his personal approach of the English Schoolboy fop of hair that makes this look rock!!I pray that beneath that look he is a total BadA&* rock god in hiding…Cheerspink

The line of the hair / neck / shoulder is interesting but not good. Obvious he’s not filling out the shoulder at all. Eat-up expression and hair are good.
November 6, 2007 at 2:47 pm
Oh, the subtle-yet-extravagant hair absolutely makes the look. As does his “PERSONAL SPACE PLEASE, SARTO” expression. Haha.
I really like the very subtle neutral blue of his tie. And am also very much taken with his quirky shoes. :)

It would be hard not to look good in Attolini; that being said, it looks like the sleeves are too long, and the shoes are a bit “off.”
Great blog BTW, easily one of my favorites.
November 6, 2007 at 3:43 pm
The monk-strap shoes make it clear that this is more than just a good-looking guy — he understands how to create personal style within the framework of a traditional suit and tie.
November 6, 2007 at 3:47 pm
very bill nighy.
November 6, 2007 at 4:09 pm
Neither the hair nor the ensemble matters nearly as much as his badass comportment.
November 6, 2007 at 6:07 pm
Isn’t it the perfection of fit here, more than anything else?
(I hate to cavil, but I agree about the shoes. However, having said that, this man looks terrific.)
November 6, 2007 at 6:27 pm
is the look nearly as cool without the dramatic hair?
Without the hair, he’s just another suit.
November 6, 2007 at 6:33 pm
Not to fuss too much about this otherwise lovely suit, but check out the jacket’s fit around the neck–perhaps it’s the effect of his posture or position, but the collar is standing away slightly from the collar.
And speaking of collar, his isn’t really the best choice, in my opinion. Far too high on the neck, and far too rigid.

that’s enrico from attolini! he’s so dapper. he looks just like roger moore in person.
November 6, 2007 at 8:11 pm
It’s his insouciance that can’t be bought. Very dashing and sexy! And for those with the shoe rules, do you really believe that until humans are extinct only one type of shoe should be worn with a suit? How restrictive can you get!
November 6, 2007 at 8:16 pm
Any chance we can get you to do an “On the Street… Butch showing us how it’s done!”
November 7, 2007 at 6:53 am
I love this kind of hair on men. More men should do it. Unfortunately I see a lot of men with longer hair who don’t understand it needs to be as carefully groomed as short hair. This guy gets it.
November 7, 2007 at 3:02 pm
Absolutely classic straightforward simplicity.
November 7, 2007 at 4:12 pm
An Attolini suit, suits almost every man! But how can you destroy such a great suit with such horrible shoes?
November 8, 2007 at 3:55 pm
Shirt collar sits too high on the neck. Otherwise good.
November 8, 2007 at 9:07 pm
A handsome man who might *sniff* at me if I were to brush up against his impeccable suit!
November 12, 2007 at 8:44 pm
The hair makes it, all the way!
August 3, 2011 at 7:36 am
Am I the only one who thinks his suit is actually ill-fitting?. I can’t see his cuffs, the shoulders are a tad too wide… Nice shirt though, I really like the shape of the collar.
