Such a handsome and accomplished man. Great photo.
September 28, 2011 at 5:32 pm
If there is one man who has had a seismic influence in mens fashion during the last 30 years it is Armani. I have a few of his made to measure suits and they fit and look like nothing else I have ever worn….classic, elegant and understated. Thanks Mr. Armani.
September 28, 2011 at 5:38 pm
It’s kind of insane… but def something to dream of and live well. He’s amazing
September 28, 2011 at 5:45 pm
What a man!!!

September 28, 2011 at 6:08 pm
not only that, but that he’s been doing this excellent for so long is much more a tribute.
September 28, 2011 at 6:10 pm
Yes, he looks really wonderful I hope he has been in better health this year…
He did say in an interview that he worked way to hard and now it look’s like the heath scare has mellowed him and perhaps he is working less and enjoying life in a different way….
Just remember Scott to, balance your life with family. love, and a little cafe life to keep yourself in check and you too can look like him with some money in your pocket…
September 28, 2011 at 6:12 pm
Re Giorgio, the symbol of fashion timeless.
See his live show is one of my dreams!
September 28, 2011 at 6:14 pm
agreed, and this photo is amazing.
September 28, 2011 at 6:19 pm
Wealth in health, love and life – You’ve got it Scott – Don’t sweat the ‘stuff’ man…
The Sartorialist is a treasure all its own!
September 28, 2011 at 7:13 pm
Great picture of a great man.
September 28, 2011 at 7:25 pm
Armani is INCREDIBLE! God he looks amazing.
September 28, 2011 at 7:59 pm
in his 70s, amaaazing!……I have to definitely agree…except for me, the female version of course lol
September 28, 2011 at 8:03 pm
A man that truly loves what he does and it shows.
September 28, 2011 at 8:44 pm
He most certainly is an inspiration, he gets up early every single morning and works out, no matter what. That kind of dedication has paid off.
September 28, 2011 at 8:49 pm
what a legend! he’s a master
September 28, 2011 at 9:02 pm
i saw him summer 2010 very early on a Sunday morning on my corner of Prince & Lafatette he was portly….he looks in great shape now
September 28, 2011 at 9:22 pm

September 28, 2011 at 10:44 pm
A brilliant man!

September 28, 2011 at 10:54 pm
In all likelihood I may not be as rich as him by the time I’m 70. However, I’m grateful for being fit and relatively happy at 59.
September 28, 2011 at 11:00 pm
you have to be Italian :)
September 29, 2011 at 12:21 am
Give me a break!!
He has churned our bland fashion for how long? ‘Well groomed’ is as nice as I can be.
September 29, 2011 at 12:44 am
I might be the only one, but that shirt looks too tight and slinky to me. Even though Armani is impressive looking for a man of his age.
September 29, 2011 at 1:07 am
I’d gladly trade extreme fitness and wealth for happiness and the company of good friends.
September 29, 2011 at 2:33 am
Yes!he is a living legend! The shiny full lycra tee though its like “Berlousconi”..Thankfully,Sart,that is in black &white..
September 29, 2011 at 2:45 am
@tor…yes, I agree ;). Within that DNA i think it’s their devotion and daily involvement in family….and family in business. Just look at all the fashion/fabric
dynasties especially in Milano and area. From my experience, their eating together, and well, is like a sacrament, along with speaking up, real loudly and with enthusiasm, and an inbred respect for and devotion to your elders and ….oh, and wine, lots.
Besides Mr. Armani’s legendary style, talent and god-like looks, I also admire how carefully he has handled his fame. Not a hint of scandal, as far as I know…ever. Just the right amount of mystery about him.
You know that rhetorical question, “who’s your dream dinner partner”? Bingo. He’s alwyas been my numero uno pick. Can you imagine dressing for that dinner? Mama mia.
A girl can dream!
Exquisite photo, Scott. How on earth did you hold the camera steady?
Also, love the former one you shot on the street that lucky day, and his graciousness to you. You, my friend, are well on your way.
And, I will never, ever forget your excellent life tip; Mr. Armani likes to be photographed against a dark background.

September 29, 2011 at 4:55 am
Forget it! He’s Italian. He was born this way ;)
September 29, 2011 at 5:01 am
Although I do not know him in person I feel he’ s an adorable man. Maybe because his eyes have a sincerity and warmth that does not match with the commonly accepted attitude people of his calibre have.
Kisses from Greece!
September 29, 2011 at 5:09 am
But don’t care to be rich and fit at his age.
Being healthy ok that’s all…
September 29, 2011 at 6:01 am
Hard work and passion … that keeps you fit and fabulous at any age!
September 29, 2011 at 7:51 am
Oh my gosh! I know! He looks great for his age, and I love his yacht! I once saw a feature of it and he spoke about how he’s obsessive about working out and keeping his yacht clean. Sexy! Sexy!
September 29, 2011 at 9:34 am
King Giorgio….that’s it!
September 29, 2011 at 9:36 am
Above all, be comfortable in your own skin by your seventies,
it’s a little sad if one’s not. He lacks style and dignity in that top.
September 29, 2011 at 10:37 am
This picture says one thing. Success.
To be relevant, to be as vibrant, and yes…to be as yoked as he is at his age?
This is what I wish.

I still have an Armani t-shirt from the 80′s; tattered but still has that sleek Armani profile.
September 29, 2011 at 4:00 pm
Proud to be Italian…but most all proud of Him!!
September 29, 2011 at 5:03 pm
I really dislike this entry! Mr. Schulman, this man’s work and visage are really creating those thoughts? Maybe the visage part, but to drop the work aspect while mentioning the rewarded part does not ring true for your fine sensibility… year’s of clicking on your site, this felt awkward. Get back to looking at August Sander…immediately. Love your work.
September 29, 2011 at 6:17 pm
“I can only dream of being that rich and fit when I’m in my seventies!”
They way you’re goin’, Scott honey, you WILL!

Mr. Armani looks great he must have gone back to body building…
September 30, 2011 at 7:21 am
I agree.. he is a legend!
September 30, 2011 at 8:27 am
he’s seriously bad ass. keep on, armani!
September 30, 2011 at 11:45 am
… and stylish!!
October 2, 2011 at 10:20 am
Not only rich and fit…he’s one of the few designers heading towards their 80′s who’s still making clothes I wish I had the body to wear. I assume he spends a lot of time having fun because he doesn’t need to do any navel gazing in his work.
Having just looked at T Gautier’s latest…he must be having fun too! It’s lovely to see people just doing what they love and doing it really well.
October 2, 2011 at 3:48 pm
A fit body and lots of money – why do these strike me as rather limiting and remarkably shallow aspirations?
October 2, 2011 at 6:24 pm
“that rich and fit” is a very shallow way of thinking…
You could talk about a lot of things about Mr. Armani: his genius, his talent in creating chic and timeless clothes, his incredible sense of style, his generosity in charity and so on…
Think that money and muscles are very limiting aspirations…This is very disappointing…
October 3, 2011 at 9:03 am
Just don’t dream about his tan… it’s the weird thing about GA!!!
Even being “orange”, he is absolutely amazing. Iconic.
October 5, 2011 at 12:00 am
Respect. The Sart understands Armani has earned it,deserves it and wears it well.

November 15, 2011 at 4:25 pm
What a gauche statement, and shallow to boot. You should applaud him for his achievements in design, not his worth or physical appearance.
November 30, 2012 at 10:17 am
I still love this shot. So perfect!
