If there is one man who has had a seismic influence in mens fashion during the last 30 years it is Armani. I have a few of his made to measure suits and they fit and look like nothing else I have ever worn….classic, elegant and understated. Thanks Mr. Armani.
Yes, he looks really wonderful I hope he has been in better health this year…
He did say in an interview that he worked way to hard and now it look’s like the heath scare has mellowed him and perhaps he is working less and enjoying life in a different way….
Just remember Scott to, balance your life with family. love, and a little cafe life to keep yourself in check and you too can look like him with some money in your pocket…
@tor…yes, I agree ;). Within that DNA i think it’s their devotion and daily involvement in family….and family in business. Just look at all the fashion/fabric
dynasties especially in Milano and area. From my experience, their eating together, and well, is like a sacrament, along with speaking up, real loudly and with enthusiasm, and an inbred respect for and devotion to your elders and ….oh, and wine, lots.
Besides Mr. Armani’s legendary style, talent and god-like looks, I also admire how carefully he has handled his fame. Not a hint of scandal, as far as I know…ever. Just the right amount of mystery about him.
You know that rhetorical question, “who’s your dream dinner partner”? Bingo. He’s alwyas been my numero uno pick. Can you imagine dressing for that dinner? Mama mia.
A girl can dream!
Exquisite photo, Scott. How on earth did you hold the camera steady?
Also, love the former one you shot on the street that lucky day, and his graciousness to you. You, my friend, are well on your way.
And, I will never, ever forget your excellent life tip; Mr. Armani likes to be photographed against a dark background.
Although I do not know him in person I feel he’ s an adorable man. Maybe because his eyes have a sincerity and warmth that does not match with the commonly accepted attitude people of his calibre have.
Oh my gosh! I know! He looks great for his age, and I love his yacht! I once saw a feature of it and he spoke about how he’s obsessive about working out and keeping his yacht clean. Sexy! Sexy!
I really dislike this entry! Mr. Schulman, this man’s work and visage are really creating those thoughts? Maybe the visage part, but to drop the work aspect while mentioning the rewarded part does not ring true for your fine sensibility… year’s of clicking on your site, this felt awkward. Get back to looking at August Sander…immediately. Love your work.
Not only rich and fit…he’s one of the few designers heading towards their 80′s who’s still making clothes I wish I had the body to wear. I assume he spends a lot of time having fun because he doesn’t need to do any navel gazing in his work.
Having just looked at T Gautier’s latest…he must be having fun too! It’s lovely to see people just doing what they love and doing it really well.
“that rich and fit” is a very shallow way of thinking…
You could talk about a lot of things about Mr. Armani: his genius, his talent in creating chic and timeless clothes, his incredible sense of style, his generosity in charity and so on…
Think that money and muscles are very limiting aspirations…This is very disappointing…
