Despite the three very different fabrics making up this outfit, each offsets the others perfectly in tone and pattern and color. The simple accessories add just the right touch as well.
September 27, 2011 at 10:21 pm

this is how it’s done. The pieces, the styling….the Photo!
So fab to be able to see AND almost feel all the details, textures, and movement.

A beautiful woman. It’s amazing how much a photo can tell us about a person without even seeing the face. Everything is beautiful in this photo – watch, ring, bag, shorts, shirt, sweater, nail polish, legs… I wish I knew which shoes she had on!
September 27, 2011 at 10:52 pm

A classy lady. Wonderful. This is to inspire us all to dress with a bit more imagination.
Is it just me or it is true that most people in Italy dress in an amazing way? I could just sit at a cafe and look at the passers-by for hours.
Lucky you Scott, you get to take pictures of them too :-)
Kisses from Greece!

September 28, 2011 at 7:24 am
Fantastic, but it would have been great to see her and the whole ensemble, but still FANTASTIC…
September 28, 2011 at 7:33 am
i love it, the colors go so well together!
September 28, 2011 at 7:49 am
This I like. Apart from the fabulous mix of fabrics, she has flawless legs but still doesn’t go too short with the shorts, as opposed to the earlier shot (last week?) of the woman in the red boucle jacket whose bun-baring shorts rode up her crotch and left little to the imagination.
September 28, 2011 at 7:59 am
Maybe I just don’t get it.
I always thought that clothing (not ‘fashion’) should complement the individual, express the personality of the individual and celebrate the individual.
I hate these photos of parts of a person, and parts of an outfit. I find it insulting to the person, who is, in fact, a person!, an individual! who has assembled a compete look, not a collection of different parts.
The most intriguing part of any outfit is the individual who wears it – the face shows the history and meaning of any outfit. Not including the face in a shot is just ‘fashion porn’ – totally alienated from the person wearing it.

September 28, 2011 at 9:29 am
I absolute adore this, there is such unity – but at the same time diversity in the colours, textures and shapes. Truly great style.
September 28, 2011 at 9:40 am
LOVE!!!! I still love the neutral color palette. xoxo
September 28, 2011 at 9:45 am

September 28, 2011 at 9:49 am
LOVE THE SHORTS!!!
September 28, 2011 at 9:58 am
I agree with commenter who said she likes to see the face of the person. Or at least include the whole person and another detail shot.
September 28, 2011 at 10:16 am
These shorts are from the famous Prada “golden collection” (spring-summer 2002). I have a pair of trousers from the same collection made of this golden fabric with a navy pattern. They are sleeping in my closet for a couple of years. This photo makes me want to wear them again. With a nude knit : what a great idea ! I used to wear them with a navy top and a black blazer, but nude makes the best effect. I love this match of a sophisticated fabric with a casual knit.
Thank you for this photo !
September 28, 2011 at 10:30 am
this detail shot reminds me much of tommy ton. this looks less like layering and more like collage
September 28, 2011 at 10:59 am

I think you made the right choice in cropping the picture. It allows for a zoom-in on the texture of the fabrics and her skin, creating a sensuousness in the composition.

The blends of colors, prints and fabrics stomp the runways street.
The contrast of wearing casual clothes and glamorous clothes is a visual impact! Amazing!
September 28, 2011 at 11:53 am
This is beautiful! The colors and fabrics are amazing!!
September 28, 2011 at 12:36 pm
love the subtle, yet still great under-shirt that she’s wearing. It’s always the more unnoticeable things that make an outfit… In my blog I write about Swedish style in Stockholm:
September 28, 2011 at 12:40 pm
Love the pale palette of this shot… I find it fascinating how soft nude shades can be and how much freedom they allow in playing with texture, without looking “overworked”…
September 28, 2011 at 12:43 pm
My wife loves her style!
September 28, 2011 at 12:54 pm
I love this outfit, the nude colors, the cable knit sweater that has short sleeves, (or none), and the little shorts. It looks so fresh for fall.
September 28, 2011 at 2:38 pm
Gorgeous–I have the skirt in that print–yes, Prada Spring 2002. I’ll have to dig that out. . . thanks for the inspiration!
September 28, 2011 at 2:55 pm
love the combination of the different textures!
September 28, 2011 at 3:43 pm
I absolutely love the neutral colors & soft textures of the knit, the (silk?) shirt, the (kid leather?) bag, but would prefer a skirt.
September 28, 2011 at 4:00 pm
Fabulous, rich fabrics. This is quality. This is style. Love it.
