it is the final days of summer, the final days to bask in the lapping warmth of the sun’s sweating tongue.
she bares her legs, she hides her eyes, lowered and cowering.
around the town, all will stare.

I love this look. It’s still a bit coquettish with a girlie print that says summer is still here and we aren’t ready to give her up yet! Love! I now know that my trip back east this week will be perfect if spent in my summer duds! xo -B

I’ve been following your blog for months, however, I never commented since I found the number of commentators intimidating. I know this is a style and fashion blog, but for me it’s the place I turn to when I’m mind is overloaded and needs a break. A sort of mental escape from my daily pressures. So thank you for that.
Btw, I was reading Garance’s blog for a long time before I discovered the link :-)
September 21, 2011 at 4:07 am
So fresh. It’s the style equivalent of a cool dip in the pool :-)

A bit out of your usual style… the heavy overexposed background is a bit agressive… but nevertheless it goes very well with the summer and joyfull dress of your model…
Nostalgia for the summer I would call it…
nice, refreshing, juvenile picture and attire

I think this must be an editor of Turkish Vogue? She looks fresh, green is a great color and unexpected for fall when we are all wearing those “deep colors of plum, navy and black.”
September 21, 2011 at 11:34 am

awsome! love the shot! so focus!!!
September 21, 2011 at 3:32 pm
Hair, sunglasses, bag, dress—all great. However, as someone who worked in a shoe store for several years, I notice that her sandals are too small! (Her left heel is hanging over the back, and she doesn’t have any room in the front, either.) This is obviously a very forgiving style, being mostly straps, but I hope that she gets her closed-toe shoes in the correct size, or she will be (is?) in pain!

new outfit post : day 2 in porto
September 21, 2011 at 4:38 pm
Oh, this makes me want summer to come back!
September 21, 2011 at 4:57 pm
I love the print on her romper or dress. I also love her pose. Scott has amazing talent. he could probably take picture of a pumpkin and make it look romantic and etherial. But she is far prettier then a pumpkin, and I mean this in the best possible way.
@ Laura; I know that you have said this comment of sandals before, but thats just what happens. To make them large enough so that you never have the heel or the toe come off the shoe you would need to buy shoes two sizes bigger, and that would be ugly and uncomfortable.
September 21, 2011 at 6:15 pm
I’m bored with what all the chic people in cities are wearing. You should check out some small towns, where people put on clothes in the morning for more reasons than to look good or express themselves. For example, there are some pretty hot loggers, farmers, and artists here in our rural northern Wisconsin town. With their coveralls and flannel and their beards and their tan skin. But they don’t even know they’re hot. It’s very charming. If you need a place to stay on your northern tour, hit us up. We’d cook you dinner. :)

Beautiful and relaxed. I love the charming print of the dress, the sun….all with the bag and the gold strappy sandals…Wonderful picture. Evokes careless, happy and beautiful days : )
September 21, 2011 at 10:05 pm
@Tonia Thats interesting. I am sure people in Wisconsin are attractive, but this isn’t an attractiveness blog, its a blog about style. I don’t think that hot farmers are really right for a blog called the Sartorialist. But if you think its a great niche and people are interested in seeing what a typical( or atypical) rural Wisconsinite wears and looks like, why not start a blog about that yourself? Its funny how people think that they know what needs to be done in movies, books, and apparently fashion blogs, but never seem willing to do it themselves. Get a cheap camera and see how it goes, perhaps.

That dress is amazing. Does anyone know the designer, by any chance?

September 22, 2011 at 6:47 am
I have to agree.. just a little more summer…. i do miss it!
September 22, 2011 at 2:42 pm
@martine, I know it’s not an attractiveness blog. I meant that there are some really neat “fashion” choices that happen in rural places. People shop at thrift stores and Fleet Farm, but are somehow still able to (usually unwittingly) express themselves through what they put on their bodies. It’s really interesting. I find it more interesting and genuine than fashion in urban settings where so many people have a plethora of options of stores and designers to choose from to perfectly sculpt their intended look.
Around here, it takes real resourcefulness. Making your own clothes is common, but no one calls themselves a fashion designer. They’re simply trying to clothe their family in an affordable way.
The result is the difference between a real, simple, rustic, made-with-love-at-home meal verses an expensive fancy meal at a restaurant. I prefer the homemade one that has heart and soul, personally. Nothing wrong with the fancy restaurant, too, of course.
I love this blog, I just think that it would be pretty interesting to cross over into some of the unexplored places in this country, too, instead of always focusing on the big cities. A simple suggestion. I definitely did not mean any offense and I’m not trying to tell a pro how to do his job. He does amazing work and I greatly admire him. :)
September 22, 2011 at 4:23 pm
does anyone by any chance know where she got the dress from?
could it be DVF?
