Its ironic that you were just in Tokyo and found that Japanese style had changed, only to return home and see the ‘traditional’ right on your doorstep. Mostly I love how happy she looks and her Louboutins are gorgeous as ever.
Love how she’s belted the kimono so perfectly, and what it does to the shape of the skirt. Her smile and personality are so strong too – the outfit is so nice, but I keep looking at HER and not the clothes. Love it, thanks again!
I love Eva, I’m so dissapointed that she has grown her hair though, she just looks like any other fashion editor now (albeit with the best eye for an outfit) Love the blog, i’ve been waiting for more pics of Eva for ever!
I love the way she’s styled this, the Japanese kimono with the blue skirt, that exact shade of blue matching, the belt picking up the red in the jacket. Very fresh looking.
The outfit is orginal and chic. Her smile is absolutly gorgeous.
The other thing I love is reading people’s comments on the outfits, then rolling up to the picture, looking at things that I hadn’t even realized (the way she holds her bag, her shoes, etc.) Thanks for all the insight!
I love the ease of this outfit – the pattern with the tortoiseshell glasses and then those shoes – walkable, easy shoes – saw them on Net a Porter recently – pretty sure they are Miu Miu x
I have spotted these shoes in stores many times, good to see them in action. I wouldn’t know how to keep them from being stuck-in-60′s-prissy but they’re certainly working here. Great.
I really love this look. Especially combining fashion from different cultures. I don’t know if she cares about this sort of thing, but the kimono is always worn left over right before belting …. (my mom’s Japanese. She made sure I knew this!).
What a GREAT outfit. I have a thing for asian garments and this kimono is stunning. I love how she accessorized it with a thin red belt matching her lipstick. Plus she has a lovely smile.
She really does stand out in the crowd, your perfect focusing helping of course. This pic is becoming one of my favorite Sartorialist’s photo. Way to capture the moment !
Eva is my favorite fashion editor ever. I lover her personal style. I’ve had a soft spot since Scott posted the very first picture of her. I love that she wears flats or low heeled shows most of the time.
I like the kimono very much, but not with the skirt. Actually, I am not sure if its the cut of the skirt, or if she is a heavier woman, but from here it seems she should tone up her thighs. But her smile is so sweet, that she still looks great. I like the very structured bag and rounded toed shoes too.
I have to say this is the first time in about a hundred photos I haven’t absolutely loved an outfit on this blog(the photo is still spectacular). It actually makes me feel better! I was wondering if Scott had brainwashed me somehow!
