The contrast is really avant-garde.
September 10, 2011 at 10:09 am
She’s beautiful, first of all.
She has a gorgeous face to handle her hairstyle and I like her dress.
September 10, 2011 at 10:11 am

September 10, 2011 at 10:12 am
Nicely spotted! The only thing missing is a grande latte!

Wow! I absolutely love this look!
September 10, 2011 at 10:22 am
This is unbelievable. She is like a exotic bird in some fairytale.
The cell, cigarett, backpack reveals the truth. It’s not in your imagination.
One of top three I think, at least under these couple of weeks since I became a Satorialist fan.
September 10, 2011 at 10:32 am
Everything about her is just perfect ! Love the dress !
September 10, 2011 at 10:39 am
Flawless picture, bold style…she inhabits that outfit in the most gorgeous way…who’s the dress by? And it’s cute to find the now getting fewer and fewer smokers in the city
September 10, 2011 at 10:41 am
I love her attitude.
September 10, 2011 at 10:42 am
Stunning! Love the contrast of masculine and feminine themes here.
September 10, 2011 at 10:43 am
Very eye-catching. Note that she throws off the glam by having a casual backpack at her feet. Who is she? Where is she going?
she’s so beautiful!
and the outfit is just amazing!
September 10, 2011 at 10:44 am
Love her hair. Wish I was that courageous!
Wow! This shaved head look is really catching on. I love that it’s not paired with grungy clothes or piercings.
September 10, 2011 at 10:45 am
(she has just changed her confortable boots for those killer heels, haha ;)
September 10, 2011 at 10:47 am

September 10, 2011 at 10:55 am
Wow, I LOVE her dress!!
It’s so beautiful <3<3
It’s at the same time creepy and very cool for me… might be her expression, or her hair. In any case, the pic is great… cause it makes you think.
September 10, 2011 at 10:57 am
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. The sequins, the pumps… and the hair! (or lack there of!)

I’ve been sporting pixie cuts for about two years now. Do all the recent posts mean it’s finally time to shave it off?!
Very fun. Like.

September 10, 2011 at 12:02 pm
This is one of the best I have seen you take. Everything about this is absolute perfection. Her shoes, hair (or lack there of), the makeup, the cigarette, the army bag at her feet. Wow.
September 10, 2011 at 12:03 pm
Stunning photograph and girl!
September 10, 2011 at 12:05 pm

September 10, 2011 at 12:14 pm
From top to toe absolutely stunning. She knows exactly how to present herself. Great!!! And I don’t care if it is warm or cold or that she smokes or that she can get dirty etc. etc. I just LOVE it.
September 10, 2011 at 12:15 pm
I really love the contrast. You see the shoes and the dress and you expect another girl… a long hair one…. but she really looks stunning, edgy and classy !!!
September 10, 2011 at 12:20 pm
Now that’s beauty.
Just love it!
September 10, 2011 at 12:34 pm

In the 80′s there was a band, Bow wow wow, they sang “I Want Candy”, this girl looks like the singer from that band.

September 10, 2011 at 2:22 pm
Her short hair works… strong and femine love her whole look….but i see the change of shoe
September 10, 2011 at 2:23 pm
As someone with the same hairstyle, I must say it definitely has its advantages:
– I’m more aerodynamic
– My opponent can’t grab me by the hair in MMA fights
– When I sit on my own head, it slides in much more easily
– No need for a blow dryer
– Since the carpet matches the drapes, I’m guaranteed to win 100m freestyle skinny-dipping races.
Cons of this hairstyle include the need to wear hats or lather up with SPF 50+
September 10, 2011 at 2:24 pm
Ohh! She´s the most beautiful woman I have ever seen!
I love the tough yet vunerable contrast…and the shoes (oh, the shoes!)
stylish with a budget
September 10, 2011 at 2:52 pm
is it a new trend that women shave their hair off? I think i’ve seen it a few times already.
anyway, she is one sexy woman!!

September 10, 2011 at 2:59 pm
Wow. One of my favorite photos here. I would love to look just like her. I just recently cut my hair short and I am thinking maybe even a bit shorter now. She is so very feminine. My jaw dropped seeing this.
September 10, 2011 at 3:01 pm
And that lovely pale skin! I don’t like tans much anymore.
September 10, 2011 at 3:03 pm
I feel like obscenity can be used appropriately to describe this situation. She looks fucking fabulous.
September 10, 2011 at 3:15 pm
September 10, 2011 at 3:43 pm
Wow – I love how brave she is! I want to cut my hair, but can’t bring myself to chop off a lot of curls. I was at Paris’ FNO last night and so many people had amazing haircuts, really adventurous.
Here are some of my pics:
i have an almost identical blouse, but her beauty and confidence puts me to shame….
i have never had my hair cut above my shoulders, now, where is a razor.
up and coming fashionista
September 10, 2011 at 3:50 pm
My my my. This woman is STRONG. You can feel the vibe through the screen.
Her vamp lipstick is perfect contrast with her gorgeous skin tone.
Her dress drapes just right where it covers just the right amount of skin and shows off just enough as well.
Her backpack is just a touch of rougness to an otherwise elegent outfit
Her shoes scream sophisticated and classy
Her unpolished nails don’t draw attention away from the outfit, it just makes her real and not another catalog model
Her full hands show she is a busy person on the go.
Her hair…oh her hair! In the post a couple posts back you showed the girls with a similar haircut and it looked, eh, grungy. Now you show her. It is courageous, avant garde, sophisticated and chic.
She reminds me of natalie portman when she was filming for V for Vendetta.
In one word: Gorgeous.
*sorry for the long comment.*
September 10, 2011 at 3:58 pm
An outfit that sparkles, and high – highheels! Beautiful model, too.
September 10, 2011 at 4:24 pm
September 10, 2011 at 4:26 pm
She is of course a beautiful girl but I’m not digging the bald look. Seems to be a fad that hopefully will go away soon.
September 10, 2011 at 4:35 pm
September 10, 2011 at 4:59 pm
wow, i didnt expect her to be so feminine when i first saw her haircut. BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. BRAVO!!!
September 10, 2011 at 5:10 pm
Gorgeous girl ,all about her is wonderfull ..
September 10, 2011 at 5:39 pm
this is the most beautiful creature i have ever seen. again, the argument for my theory that there’s nothing better than masculine hairstyle or outfit to reveal the beauty of the REALLY beautiful girl.
September 10, 2011 at 5:42 pm
I love all ur pictures! They’re SO amazing!
I really admire you :)
I take pictures, but I dont have a good camera at the moment.

This THE most dynamic and beautiful photo I’ve seen on your blog yet. It’s a strong and defined look. Long hair on women is ubiquitous and BORING! Why are women so afraid of what men think? Well spotted!
une chatte grise
September 10, 2011 at 5:57 pm
Shaved head & grungy rucksack + sequins & outrageous heels = great style. I think I’d like this even better if she were still wearing the boots tucked under the bench, though! They’d look amazing with the dress.
Every time I see a woman like this, I feel bad that nature isn’t kinder, more often. This young woman is unarguably magnificent. The fact that she can shave her head and still stun, is in itself testimony to her beauty. She is so beautiful and perfect, such a marvel of DNA, and at the same time, a genetic freak. I have to wonder what happens when she opens her mouth.
September 10, 2011 at 6:18 pm
I lover her dress and high shoes……….nice picture!!!. Congratulations!!!

her shaved head makes the dress.
September 10, 2011 at 6:38 pm
This look is insane. Not for me but I love it!
September 10, 2011 at 6:41 pm

September 10, 2011 at 7:43 pm
She is unbelievable
September 10, 2011 at 7:51 pm
Wow–another brilliant look here!
September 10, 2011 at 7:56 pm
This Chick is the truth…….ultra feminine and fearless!
Shifting the Euro idea of beauty.
No blonde hair to hide under or have as a distraction…..living from the inside out.
She is what she is….beautiful and she looks good too (you’ll get that on the way home)
September 10, 2011 at 8:02 pm
September 10, 2011 at 8:31 pm
…her hair, that widows-peak, the make-up, and the way that dress sparkles and drapes off her shoulders, it’s so feminine, beautiful ensemble!
Thanks for the daily inspirations Scott!

And not a single tattoo visible…would have loved to see her in the boots and what’s in her bag. Oh my gawd what she could do with a one piece jump suit and those boots. I bet she painted her nails soon after the photo was taken.
September 10, 2011 at 9:10 pm
I gasped at how stunningly beautiful she is.
love the setting
September 10, 2011 at 9:43 pm
Love the shoes I think they add soo much. Also, to me this says that if you’re beautiful and stylish who cares if you shave your head?

September 10, 2011 at 9:50 pm
Such a refreshing, spellbinding look. Against the grain, and so decadently beautiful.
September 10, 2011 at 10:15 pm
she is perfect.
September 10, 2011 at 11:18 pm
long hair, short hair, no hair, all lovely. but to anyone who has never had their hair that short, you must try. it will make you appreciate how low-maintenance life can be, and how cold your head can get without any “protection.”
September 11, 2011 at 12:01 am
I wish one could find more models who looked like this woman. She is breathtaking, dramatic and sophisticated all at once.
September 11, 2011 at 12:31 am
September 11, 2011 at 2:13 am
What’s great about her look is that since she does have the shaved head she can go way more dramatic with her outfit. It would have been way too much of a nighttime look if she had a longer hairstyle.
September 11, 2011 at 2:33 am
This beauty is unique and sharp. It grips the beholder. The hair is an afterthought to the initial impression. I’m truly taken with this photo.
September 11, 2011 at 2:41 am
She is a bit like a modern version of Servalan from Blakes seven. Strong beautiful leader of the evil empire.
September 11, 2011 at 2:56 am
I love the shoes!
I found your book in a book shop! I really think I’ll buy it, it’s so inspiring! :)

September 11, 2011 at 5:32 am
I absolutely LOVE this look! The contrast between her shaven hair and the glittery dress and amazing shoes is really unusual and eye-catching.
September 11, 2011 at 7:28 am
Her face goes so well with her hair cut, besides those lips are gorgeous! Love the dress, the glitter, the heels. Love this!
September 11, 2011 at 7:45 am

September 11, 2011 at 1:11 pm
September 11, 2011 at 1:42 pm
Looks like I’m in the minority here, but this doesn’t work for me. The girl is absolutely stunning and very stylish, but she needs more hair. Her edgy features are already androgynous, and pairing it with such a cropped cut is overkill. A short pixie cut would have made a world of difference, specially if dark-colored. Love everything else about her, though.
September 11, 2011 at 2:05 pm
beautiful legs and shoes! really nice pic. ;)
September 11, 2011 at 2:31 pm
The only thing I can think of: I love her.

September 11, 2011 at 10:25 pm
I think the real measure of whether a woman is beautiful or not is to shave her head. If she is still stunning stunning without hair then you have the answer.

something intensely sexy about this whole photo…the hair (or lack thereof), the dress, the mile-high shoes, the legs, the pose…gorgeous!

Hair for Corporates this is not
September 12, 2011 at 12:51 am
This lass proves that sensibility (see the boots tucked behind the bag) and style (everything about her and on her) can and does go together.
I love escaping to The Sartorialist because beauty encapsulated in this shot as well as in that recent shot of the levitating tattoed beauties cannot be found in the urban jungle that is the dreary corporate world.
I remembered that I was forced to chop my flowing and permed locks into something more severe and “corporate” some 5 years ago, so as to “fit in”. I loved my good hair but I wanted that job real bad.
So, I am glad that I can get my fix vicariously here. Corporate animal that I (still) am. Unfortunately.

Love the skin head, red lips and the excessive sequins on her dress. It’s a perfect demonstration of strong, independent and fun woman.
I also have a sequin dress in my new blog post. :)

The MOST beautiful photo I have seen in so long.
She is perfection.
I love the creminess of her skin and the boldness to be shaven and also girly. Unafraid in so many ways.
September 12, 2011 at 10:47 am
her shoes are HOT.

September 12, 2011 at 1:13 pm
WoW! She should be a model!
September 12, 2011 at 1:34 pm
I’m speechless! (well, not entirely….) This is my favorite photo yet on your magnificent blog. Her eyebrows, her neck, her lipstick, that phenomenal dress, and (be still my heart) those SHOES. I have short hair and this is inspiring me to go closer cropped. It’s so very feminine.
September 12, 2011 at 2:38 pm
very glamourous and sext. Lots of comments are mentioning contrast, I suppose that her shaved head implies a punk rock look? I don’t feel that way. It’s a bold statement that she pulls off amazingly. I love the shoes and the sequin dress. If you see her walking down the street you’ll know she means business
September 12, 2011 at 3:03 pm
Love, LOVE, L-O-V-E her look! I love that she has a buzz-cut to show off her gorgeous face…and those shoulders and legs…creamy, sexy, elegant. Outfit, shoes, accessories, makeup, nails…perfect!
September 12, 2011 at 3:12 pm
She is quite possibly the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.
September 12, 2011 at 4:05 pm
STUNNING. Beautiful face and legs and love the hair cut. The dress reminds me of the seventies great disco parties
September 12, 2011 at 4:15 pm
Boy, you remove a head full of hair and the facial features pop. On anybody.
The photo feels awfully posed.
September 12, 2011 at 5:47 pm

September 13, 2011 at 12:44 pm
What a fabulous, eclectic mix of things: her hair, the dress, her shoes, the wooden bench, the rucksack and the flat boots near her feet. it’s just wonderful
September 13, 2011 at 6:02 pm
OMG have always wanted to shave my head like this, she looks great!
September 13, 2011 at 10:46 pm
I honestly haven’t decided what captivates me more – her pearsing beauty or her style… Just made my day.
September 14, 2011 at 12:43 am
This photo is absolutely stunning. The bold sequined dress and haircut contrast with the romatic lipstick, heels and gaze.
I noticed afterwards that she is not wearing any jewelry at all – no earings, necklaces, rings or bracelets. Another statement that brings all the focus back to her outfit.
The simplicity of her look gives it its immense force. Less is indeed more!
September 14, 2011 at 12:05 pm
Widow’s peak :) I don’t know who is responsible for that dress/reinvented tunic, but it looks to be vintage or a very accessible French Connection buy, circa four/five years ago.
September 15, 2011 at 6:28 am

Odd. When I was in chemo, and then growing out my hair, nobody wanted to take a pic of ME as the epitome of style and chic. Damn. If my six-month check-up isn’t clean, I’ll let you know, Scott, and then when I lose my hair again during another round of chemo, you can come and take **my** pic.
So is this the newest NYC fashion look…chemo chic?
Damn. I’m sensing a trend here. And why not?

Having just gone through chemo, my hairstyle resembles this pretty closely. I make sure to rock it with a strong brow, too. Love this look on her (and me!)

i have recently being go through chemotheraphy, and despite my body reacting well and the process nearly being complete, the impact of hair loss seems to have affected me the most. i thought at first it would just merely be a loss of vanity, but in a sense it became a loss of dignity. hair is something integrally feminine and to loose it all at 18 has been difficult at times. i have felt embarassed and exposed a lot of the time, but you would not believe how refreshing and inspiring this post has been for me! it’s amazing how it has actually become ‘high fashion’ to display your face in its entirety without the mask of hair, and in a way it makes the womanin the photography appear stronger and more confident. in a silly sort of way, this post has made me proud of how i look, and although i can’t control how it occurred it, this doesn’t mean something unintentional has to be ugly. i cannot thank you enough for making me aware of this, somewhat laterally, through your beautiful photography. nobody’s words made an impact, but this photograph did.
best wishes, philly x
