like a rolling stone…
I think this look rocks on this guy.
December 13, 2007 at 11:01 am
Yep, he looks like Dylan, only…you know, better.
December 13, 2007 at 11:05 am
this is wonderful.
would look just as good on a female as well. little rolled up hems on skinny black pants look amazing paired with oxfords. i wore this look without socks in the fall, but with socks…they look just as great.
i know i’m probably going to be one of many who thinks he looks like a young bob dylan, but i can’t post without it being said!
December 13, 2007 at 11:06 am
I have much affinity for this kind of look; sophisticated but in an arty sort of way.
December 13, 2007 at 11:07 am
it’s bob dylan!
December 13, 2007 at 11:13 am
mmm yes so Dylan!
December 13, 2007 at 11:16 am

December 13, 2007 at 11:27 am
i LOVES him
December 13, 2007 at 11:29 am
Anybody else getting a Bob Dylan vibe? He’s definitely rockin’ the look though!

December 13, 2007 at 11:43 am
is that Pat from Saturday Night Live?
December 13, 2007 at 11:45 am
Everything seems to be perfectly adjusted! Lovely brown black match.
Laguna Beach Trad
December 13, 2007 at 11:46 am
Great photo, Scott! Lovely turtleneck sweater. Great colous here. This chap definitely has a ’60s look going on, and inadvertently or not he is clearly channeling the spirit of Ian McCulloch.
I am not sure why his trousers are so high. I find it really disturbing and I may even lose some sleep over it. Men today rarely seem to get the break right. Pants are either too long and engulf the shoe, or they are way too short, as in Thom Browne. This young man’s trousers display a ‘negative break’! WTF?!
December 13, 2007 at 12:06 pm
The outfit, the hair, the face, the stance, it all screams Dylan. And I love it.
December 13, 2007 at 12:07 pm
My thought exactly – a Swedish Bob Dylan.
December 13, 2007 at 12:09 pm
mod styling in stockholm – I love his choice of brown shoes best of all!
the haircuts resume
December 13, 2007 at 12:12 pm
They do can cut hair in Sweden, don´t they? Perfect waves in this square face or triangle form.

December 13, 2007 at 12:13 pm
the way he wears his trousers is just perfectly right!

December 13, 2007 at 12:24 pm
Oh, this boy is perfect!
December 13, 2007 at 12:26 pm
he looks somewhat like a young Dylan. I love the length of the pants and the color combo.
December 13, 2007 at 12:36 pm
instantly reminded me of me back in the early 80′s as a mod. very cool and the right attitude. how do i put this, i like the fact that he is not really conforming, not really rebelling, yet very cool. he seems to have found his comfortable niche.
December 13, 2007 at 12:47 pm
like a young bob dylan
December 13, 2007 at 12:53 pm
he’s a bit fey isn’t he? the colors are divine
December 13, 2007 at 1:01 pm
The small hips and shortened pant length are doing it for me.
His ‘come-hither cat-grin’ isn’t too bad either.

Oh my god, finally.
December 13, 2007 at 1:06 pm
hello bob dylan. . .
December 13, 2007 at 1:10 pm
nice dark dark brown shoes.
December 13, 2007 at 1:16 pm
Whoah – more like Cate Blanchett’s Bob Dylan.
It’s so hard to pull off that “I know I’m saucy” expression without it seeming contrived. I guess he just really knows he’s that saucy. The shiny oxfords and the mini-roll of the pant leg are especially charming.
December 13, 2007 at 1:26 pm
A young Dylan/Tim Buckley. beautiful!
December 13, 2007 at 1:34 pm
he looks like a young bob dylan.
December 13, 2007 at 1:36 pm

December 13, 2007 at 1:40 pm

December 13, 2007 at 1:42 pm
Looks like a young Bob Dylan. Cute :)
December 13, 2007 at 1:44 pm
My thoughts exactly – young Bob Dylan.
December 13, 2007 at 1:45 pm
Bob Dylan was my first thought too! The texture of the sweater, the matte jeans, and the well shined shoes add to the ensemble. He rocks.
December 13, 2007 at 1:51 pm
Oh dear. A veritable Dylan.
December 13, 2007 at 1:52 pm
Reminds me of Bob Dylan.
December 13, 2007 at 1:57 pm
his sweater looks gorgeous.
December 13, 2007 at 1:59 pm
i hope to run into him when im going to sweden only a month away!!
December 13, 2007 at 2:01 pm
beautiful sweater…and yes, very bob dylan.
December 13, 2007 at 2:20 pm
He looks like a street urchin from a Dickens novel. I think I might love this look. It works on him.
December 13, 2007 at 2:31 pm
gorgeous, the boy and the pic.
December 13, 2007 at 2:32 pm
Wow! He just kicks ass. Love the fluffy hair.
December 13, 2007 at 2:40 pm
hot damn. this is perfect.
yes! like a more feminine more Bob Dylan.
December 13, 2007 at 2:53 pm
Love his shoes.
December 13, 2007 at 2:56 pm
Until I enlarged the picture, I thought he was wearing boots. Love the subtle texture…and the hair.
December 13, 2007 at 2:58 pm
I love this. The colour combination and sweater make me happy. Hahah.
December 13, 2007 at 3:12 pm
December 13, 2007 at 3:23 pm

December 13, 2007 at 3:24 pm

December 13, 2007 at 3:35 pm
i want to meet this boy!
December 13, 2007 at 3:55 pm
Kitty pretty much summed it up. It’s Zimmy in the flesh.

This guy looks great…but, yes, as another reader asked, please share with us your critieria for publishing comments, so some of us don’t put a lot of effort into writing something that will never see the light of day. I’m a professional writer, so it most likely isn’t the grammar that’s the problem, and I’m always polite. I’m beginning to get the feeling that you only want comments that are gushingly adulatory.
December 13, 2007 at 3:59 pm
The shortness of the pants makes him look so sweet and innocent. So very 14 year old church boy. But I love it!
December 13, 2007 at 4:08 pm
it’s young wolverine! love the hair
December 13, 2007 at 4:27 pm
He looks like a young Bob Dylan. I love it.
December 13, 2007 at 4:28 pm
He looks like a young Bob Dylan. Great look! /B.
December 13, 2007 at 4:30 pm
love the hair, the shoes and the silhouette…great pic ;)gracias
December 13, 2007 at 4:32 pm
…or Bob Dylan?
December 13, 2007 at 4:38 pm
It really is a ghost of Christmas past, well if christmas was Bobo Dylan. I can’t quite put my finger on why I like this chap and his ensemble but I sure do. I envy those legs.
December 13, 2007 at 4:40 pm
Is he one of the actors in I’m Not There?
December 13, 2007 at 4:42 pm
or like a young bob dylan. well, kind of the same as a rolling stone.
December 13, 2007 at 4:57 pm
December 13, 2007 at 5:00 pm
cate blanchett in “i’m not there” (which was fabulous).androgyny is such a beautiful thing. bravo.
December 13, 2007 at 5:17 pm
the look is cool, but this guy needs to eat a burger or something. soooo puny.
December 13, 2007 at 5:27 pm
December 13, 2007 at 5:28 pm
Bob Dylan much?
December 13, 2007 at 5:29 pm
Where do you get all these genderless people?
December 13, 2007 at 5:38 pm
Aw, sweet! (Has anyone anywhere ever been this young?)
Like the fact that he’s gone into his skinny log legs with a short-cuffed-pants vengeance.
Shoes are right, too.
December 13, 2007 at 5:39 pm
Reminds me of a young Bob Dylan.
December 13, 2007 at 5:41 pm
You don’t need to compare to the bland girl on the picture before this one to see this is special. I like everything about his look. He really stuffed his pocket though didn’t he? Well, in Sweden you’re almost seen as gay if you wear a bag as a man and it’s not obvious that it’s carrying your laptop.
December 13, 2007 at 5:59 pm
December 13, 2007 at 6:00 pm
its amazing that he can pull it off…
December 13, 2007 at 6:04 pm
December 13, 2007 at 6:23 pm
Early Dylan… what a cool cat!DIdn’t notice the beaut colour of his jumper until I enlarged the pic.
Love what you find in Sthlm…
European men, authentic European men, tend to have this charm all over them… a very effortless charm that gives them a very cool regal vibe… I love this shot
December 13, 2007 at 6:35 pm
December 13, 2007 at 6:39 pm
kitty’s nailed it. his Dylan look is fantastic, down to every last detail. He has to be intentionally emulating the beloved poet, right?
December 13, 2007 at 6:58 pm
He doesn’t look like a stone at all, more like Bob Dylan to me.
December 13, 2007 at 7:06 pm
more like a young Bob. Hot.
December 13, 2007 at 7:08 pm
Bob Dylan meets James Dean. Very nice!
December 13, 2007 at 7:18 pm
wow the perfect jumper:)
December 13, 2007 at 7:43 pm
Like a young Bob Dylan. Retro cool.
December 13, 2007 at 7:46 pm
This look, from the haircut on down, would work on a man or a woman!
December 13, 2007 at 7:53 pm
somebody’s in love with bob dylan! that’s not a bad thing at all.
December 13, 2007 at 8:13 pm
Hey Robert Zimmerman!
December 13, 2007 at 8:15 pm
I thought only Thom Browne could pull off the too short pants, but he’s doing it! Fantastic!
December 13, 2007 at 8:44 pm
He does it so well. Who can make highwaters look that cool?
But…how is it he’s not wearing a coat, in December, in Stockholm??
December 13, 2007 at 9:04 pm
Very pretty boy with such a tailored, spot on fashion sense.
December 13, 2007 at 9:30 pm
love the pants rolled up a tad
December 13, 2007 at 9:36 pm
i love how his pants were obviously made to give the too short look so as to draw attention to his shoes.. which remind me of round black beetles.
we could grow up together
December 13, 2007 at 9:48 pm
guys in skinny pants still make me swoon. and with the little rolling cuffs, ruff ruff!
December 13, 2007 at 9:50 pm
December 13, 2007 at 10:32 pm
we love you bob dylan
December 13, 2007 at 11:31 pm
I can’t help but think that this look would have been much more complete and elegant without the tired and pointless rolled-up trousers.
December 13, 2007 at 11:38 pm
i want to dress like this today(im a girlw short hair)
December 13, 2007 at 11:55 pm
Very dylanesque, if you see what I mean, the hair cut, the skinny pants.Love it, I don’t see anybody like him here in L.A.
December 14, 2007 at 12:11 am
tim buckley meets steve bays!
he nailed that retro hipster vibe.
December 14, 2007 at 12:59 am
reminds me of bob dylan. his suze rotolo greenwich village days. awesome.
December 14, 2007 at 1:52 am
He looks a bit young, doesn’t he? I often get this feeling of boys in men’s clothes from your Stockholm pictures, wonder if I’m alone on that. Naturally he looks good, fashion-forward, but it’s just that young boy thing that irks me slightly.
December 14, 2007 at 2:40 am
kid looks like frodo.
December 14, 2007 at 2:46 am
A young Bob Dylan. Beautiful.
December 14, 2007 at 2:48 am
holy bob dylan
December 14, 2007 at 3:02 am
good to see bob dylan is alive and well.
December 14, 2007 at 3:08 am
Minimalism done well. Love the Bob Dylan hair.
December 14, 2007 at 3:20 am
absolutely love it
December 14, 2007 at 3:24 am
Very Cate Blanchett in I’m Not There.
Fredde Ahlstrom Cooney
December 14, 2007 at 3:25 am
Splendid young Dylanesque look. The Q-cards are behind his back?
Nice framing and lines on this one, and the one below.
December 14, 2007 at 3:32 am

December 14, 2007 at 3:46 am
December 14, 2007 at 3:49 am

December 14, 2007 at 4:09 am
Oh, I knew a guy in Paris that was really similar looking!
December 14, 2007 at 4:16 am
Straight out of the sixties! Wonderful.
December 14, 2007 at 4:45 am
he’s strange and fascinating in his interaction with the camera, his clothes, his vibe, his essence. very intriguing young fellow.
December 14, 2007 at 5:08 am
the young bob dylan!
December 14, 2007 at 5:31 am

December 14, 2007 at 8:25 am
Paging a young Bob Dylan!
December 14, 2007 at 8:57 am
He´s not that young, he´s like twentytwo-twentythree something.
(yes, I know him. Nice lad!)
December 14, 2007 at 10:05 am
Yes, it is true: on this site, only gushingly comments are generally welcome.
If you have something critical, though polite, to say, it won’t be published as has happened to me many times.
It is the site owner’s right to censor comments but you don’t get a true representation of what peoples’ views are….
December 14, 2007 at 11:24 am
most beautiful person in the world…
December 14, 2007 at 2:17 pm
what you’ve captured here makes me want to go to stockholm.
i love how he cuffs the pants to that length to reveal the socks slightly and so you can see all of his cute shoes. i’ve seen this length of cuffing of the pants done before, and it was not very flattering to the wearers. he looks great through. the building colors in the background go wonderful with him. the outfit seems very casual, but this guy just exudes a certain attitude… makes him quite the striking fellow. i especially love the expression on his face. how could someone not stop and take another look at this guy?
HOW OLD IS HE?!
December 14, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Are they inspired by the artists work, or do they just copy the look ?
December 14, 2007 at 4:19 pm
He reminds me a friend of mine, whose standing fashion advice to me is, “don’t get out of bed if not to look like a rock star.” I love the style on the men and the shot.
December 14, 2007 at 4:44 pm
You know who I think he looks like that hasn’t been mentioned by anyone yet? Bob Dylan.
December 14, 2007 at 5:00 pm
All this is missing is some snow on the street, a jacket on him, and me in a belted coat and boots holding onto his arm.
December 14, 2007 at 5:27 pm
December 14, 2007 at 9:17 pm
great jeans fit, im not a fan of tight jeans on men. and the sweater is amazing. but the shoes really make this lad stand out!
December 14, 2007 at 10:21 pm
he looks like bob dylan.
December 14, 2007 at 11:13 pm
December 15, 2007 at 12:43 am

Wow! This had an impact on me. I love it so much and i don’t know exactly why. wow.
December 15, 2007 at 2:39 am
i love it. beautiful sweater. i love his face/hair, shoes/trousers/stance as well.
i love your photos from Europe…SOOOO much more than your uptown NY ones.
December 15, 2007 at 5:23 am
Totally cool and edgy.
December 15, 2007 at 10:38 am
Looks like a young Marc Bolan :D
December 15, 2007 at 2:26 pm
I really adore his style! love the popping blended colors of the turtleneck… and especially the rolled-up cuffs to his pants to show off the socks. really confident, yet low-key, my favorite type of style. :)

I would just like to add to the 150+ comments to say that I love him! This is one of my favorite outfits I’ve seen, and I just want to give him a big kiss! :)
December 15, 2007 at 10:25 pm
“I’m not there…”
December 16, 2007 at 7:55 am
those swedes are just fantastic at rocking the youthful beatnik in cuffed trousers look. he does quirky with such confidence and cheekiness that you just KNOW he was born impeccably stylish.
December 16, 2007 at 9:29 am
I like this artsy look even though it’s quite popular to dress a bit rougher in stockholm, guess being a brat is all to much work in the end. This is a basic outfit which would fit most people just as long as they know they’re hot. If the clothes are basic you need an attitude to make them wow others. But I think you should get out of stockholm and pop in to other big cities sometime. Sweden rocks, not just stockholm
December 16, 2007 at 3:30 pm
December 18, 2007 at 12:56 am
flawless and untouchable.
December 18, 2007 at 2:26 am
I wonder if he is single.
December 23, 2007 at 5:07 pm
This guy is captivating.
December 27, 2007 at 8:47 am
Love the shoes and the hair. The shoes especiallly are a nice touch.
December 29, 2007 at 1:40 am
Quirky proportion. Excellent colour (especially hair). Charming details (rolled trouser leg).
December 29, 2007 at 2:11 am
The Velvet Scientist
December 30, 2007 at 4:53 am
Very Bob Dylan, and very unisex.
These Stockholm guys are quite trendy, no?
December 30, 2007 at 7:04 am
wow, so cute!
January 3, 2008 at 8:52 pm
i have to say i’ve come to despise a short break on tight pants (i don’t really care to see the color of your socks or the tops of your shoes, or exaggerate your height), but love it on slightly loose pants. swish!
January 4, 2008 at 5:16 pm
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it yet, be he reminds me of someone. I think it is Bob Dylan
January 5, 2008 at 8:20 pm
He looks like the so-called “creep” in Truffaut’s film Domicile conjugal (Bed and Board). I mean that both in his hairstyle and manner of dress (esp. the shade of his turtleneck) and that he has his hands clasped behind his back. Weird.
January 7, 2008 at 10:57 pm
Love the rolled pants.. so ralph lauren.. the sweater eeee great look but, does not fit his body well.. I hate bunchy on top/slim on the bottom.. not proportional.
January 22, 2008 at 10:39 am
Hm.. He reminds me of someone. Maybe it’s the famous Mata-mata, here in Norway. But I think it’s Dylan.
February 12, 2008 at 12:12 pm
I just love this look on him! Very old rock feeling.
May 4, 2008 at 4:27 pm
By far my favourite of all sartorialist’s shots
July 11, 2008 at 2:01 am
Most of you say he looks like Dylan, but I agree with the person that said he looks like Cate Blanchett’s ‘Dylan’.
IMO, he looks more like Tim Buckley, minus the ‘fro.
December 25, 2008 at 8:57 am
oh i love this. the highwaters somehow make the entire look artsy, beatnik if you will. everybody’s metionned his resemblance to dylan, but i also see young mark bolan, mostly due to his lovely haircut.
September 23, 2009 at 1:15 pm
This one looks like a young Bob Dylan!
January 17, 2011 at 1:45 pm
He looks like a bootlegged Bob Dylan Album. Old and tested and true, yet relevant wanted and unmistakably himself.
