Oh, this is so me! It’s not exactly inspiring, it rather reconfirms my way – thank you, Sart, thank you, girl!

Yesterday I was in Rice and I thought that girl looks like she should be on The Sartorialist site and there she is! So adorable.

That is a BIG bag for such a little lady.

LOVE the knit coat. Good call. Her navy/army green colour mix is great too.

Knit as outerwear works if it looks warm. The texture of the knit is important because of the cosiness factor but also to avoid looking ‘bulky’. The style of knitwear in the photo works (long cardigan) but it would work better if it was a colour other than black. Turquoise or chocolate brown perhaps…

I love the bag but I hate how it’s obstructing her…perhaps she should give it to me. Love the hat/scarf combo, very inspiring for today.

Quite chilly for a change, but the girl is dressed in warm clothes. The bag could be another color, now it is taking too much space.

Love the hat scarf combo, and the color combo in general (minus the black shoes.)

But I feel like she is making herself look heavier and shorter. She seems lost behind her clothes.

Love how she’s coordinated the colors with the hat and scarf! Proof that there is a middle ground between clashing and matchy-matchy.

This is my favorite shot in a very long time. Being from Miami and now living in New Haven, CT, I always wonder how to dress for the cold (seriously, the concept of layering was a breakthrough for me during my first winter). Thank you for this wonderful inspiration!

Nubby, cozy, and comfy. I am glad the bag is not a predictable patent-garbage-bag look … that would have ruined it! Instead, it looks as though she has chosen an original big bag … This makes the look her own. The trousers are just the right length. Also, I love it when I see women wearing hats in the winter. She is sensibly chic.

can’t believe this photo has attracted some negative comments! she looks great. not all like the usual new york photos where all the subjects look like they’ve all bought their clothes yesterday. more photos like this please– less YSL high heels and logo bags. love her colors. love the slight suggestion of the 1920s. love her individuality. this is style, not fashion.

The melange isn’t bad, but her shoes ruin the outfit. A pair of quality black leather boots are needed here. There’s just so far you can go without saying “ragamuffin.”
