I like the second look; fresh, clean but stylish.
Not too feminine with the chosen shoes, but not too manly either coz of the dress.
Nice combination :D
May I add you in my blog list that I read daily? : )

Love the flowing hair and the converse!
August 19, 2011 at 9:10 am
This probably won’t come as any big surprise, but this is *exactly* how a lot of my friends were dressing themselves in mid-1980s Austin.
August 19, 2011 at 9:18 am
Converse.. of course. Really like their outfits though – they look so effortless.
August 19, 2011 at 9:21 am
long flowing cotton, hugs their knees, kisses their softness on the thigh. beauty and simplicity, sneakers are like an old, warm friend, who understands you in and out.
August 19, 2011 at 9:26 am
I guess I should have bought that Converse franchise in Scandinavia aferall.
August 19, 2011 at 9:29 am
Love how the converse dresses down what would otherwise be a very ‘girly’ dress, especially that brilliant polkadot number…
August 19, 2011 at 9:33 am
Semi-sheer white. Simple, elegant, summery. Add the Chucks and the cloth tote for a super casual look.
August 19, 2011 at 9:39 am
I love this. She looks so wispy. Poor thing probably waits all year for the meager number of days, warm enough to wear this dress.
August 19, 2011 at 9:50 am
I like the pristine Swedish light.
August 19, 2011 at 9:51 am
i love the shoes, especially the high top red ones, i have both pairs
August 19, 2011 at 9:53 am
I love both pictures, I have an obvious preference towards the white dress, but I still think that they are beautiful dresses, cool and easy, and the sort of thing that I love.
P.S. And the sneakers, they just give it a personal touch.
Love it, love it, love it!
August 19, 2011 at 9:54 am
I like the soft background lighting in both pictures, summer dresses paired with converses seems like a popular choice in Stockholm
Both are cute looks!
August 19, 2011 at 9:58 am
In Sweden it seems that long dresses ABSOLUTELY have to be matched with a pair of converse
August 19, 2011 at 10:01 am
not too overdone *like*
August 19, 2011 at 10:06 am
chucks + sheer dresses = f*** cool combi
Am I the only girl who still wears a slip under my dresses? Am I old fashioned because I don’t like the sun shining through my dress and showing my nooks and crannies?
August 19, 2011 at 10:08 am
Very nice, both of them!

I love the first photo! She look awesome
August 19, 2011 at 10:14 am
I adore the resemblence between these two outfits; they all evoke such an effortless and casual euophoria, yet indidually bespoke. I love minor yet impacting inserts of quite a used, worn and disheveled piece like the run-down converses in the first pic, it looks lived in- it has had many experiances, and possibly many storys it has been involved in….Beautiful photos.

The swedes seem to have it really going on when it comes to easy, standout style – i have loved this series of pics
August 19, 2011 at 10:23 am
I’m starting to like converse sneakers more and more…love how she mixed dressy with casual..she looks very cute and effortess
August 19, 2011 at 10:24 am
perfect white dress! laid-back chic!
August 19, 2011 at 10:39 am
The dress and Converse combination is so classic.
August 19, 2011 at 10:43 am
So cool that combo of the all stars and the long dresses, casual chic! Love this! x peachy

Apparently, it’s Chuck’s world. I’m partial to ProKeds, myself.
August 19, 2011 at 10:52 am
Damn….does anybody in Sweden not wear Converse? Its a little ridiculous.
August 19, 2011 at 10:56 am
Transition?? It’s August!
August 19, 2011 at 11:18 am
I love how both women are wearing a dress and converse! They look lovely. I also like the womans jacket in the first picture.
Check out my trendy blog!
August 19, 2011 at 11:38 am
Ha! I purchased my own pair of chucks for fall!
August 19, 2011 at 11:46 am
I like the pattern of the blue dress but in a way it’s too macrobiotic for my taste. As if she grows her own potatoes. And when sexy is too sexual it isn’t sexy anymore but silly.
The white dress is very stylish and elegant, great actually.
Greetings from Amsterdam.
August 19, 2011 at 11:56 am
Been loving this series of photos from Stockholm! I was there in June and it seemed like everyone was wearing Chucks.
August 19, 2011 at 12:06 pm
I am Swedish and I love my Converse. :)
I bought my first in late 80:ies in the states. High red ones. They have always been a part of my feet. High red ones. :)If I feel to dressy a pair of converse will ” dress down”. Cooler. More laid back. Like the girls above. Sexy, cool and full of self conscious.
August 19, 2011 at 12:17 pm
I don’t think I could ever pull this look off, but I LOVE it. It’s romantic, sexy, comfortable – it has all the elements. Love summer and love the sexy romance that comes from it.
Thank you for sharing – as always. You’re my favorite! xo

I adore the white dress with the converses … it is such an off pairing but at the same time, it just works.

Soooo beautiful. This is my fave look pictured in a while. I wonder if these women had a pair of heels hidden away in their purses or were just rocking the sneaks day and night.
August 19, 2011 at 12:32 pm
I really love that second look! That sheer white with those Converse is beyond cool!
August 19, 2011 at 12:34 pm
These girls look so beautiful until you get to their feet. Then they look like 12 year old boys.
August 19, 2011 at 12:35 pm
Both looks are pretty great, I prefer the second though (red conv), but I’m convinced it’s because the photo is kind of remarkable :) well done Scott :)

So gorgeous !

This is definitely becoming a popular style and I love it. Who says you can’t be fashionable and comfortable. Both of these lovely ladies prove that you can!

I love the first look. It looks so effortless, and I appreciate how she keeps her hair/make-up (if any at all) very natural.
August 19, 2011 at 2:12 pm
Becky-no, you are correct-first girl needs to wear a slip.
August 19, 2011 at 2:50 pm
All the stockholm girls love her converse, amazing!!
August 19, 2011 at 2:55 pm
LIKE SECOND LOOK, TOTE BAG WITH BLACK CONVERSE, GOOD COLOR BALANCE WITH THE OUTFIT
August 19, 2011 at 3:22 pm
Love it! I love my Converse and wear them with just about everything. Chucks are comfortable, inexpensive, and come in a plethora of colors and patterns. No wonder they’re so popular!
August 19, 2011 at 3:36 pm
Chucks never really caught on with me. They’re a terribly uncomfortable shoe and I’m not fond of the look. I do like the flowing dresses on both

I think these must be for Garance’s benefit, as just last week she was debating whether to get high-top or low-cut Converse sneakers.

August 19, 2011 at 4:52 pm
I love it :) Converse gos with almost everything!
August 19, 2011 at 5:37 pm
I prefer the low top look out of the two. I love the white dress! Not really a fan of sneakers with dresses in general but I prefer a more feminine look.
August 19, 2011 at 6:19 pm
converse….like the look worn in
August 19, 2011 at 11:43 pm
Both are so pretty.
Slipless in Singapore
August 19, 2011 at 11:50 pm
Seeing others wear comfortable shoes is always a delight to me. Cool and chic needn’t look or be painful. Must confess: I have a lower threshold for pain because I have flat feet.
I think the girl in the 1st photograph is dressed appropriately (i.e. slip-less looks alright on her).. And I’m a Generation Xer from Singapore!
August 20, 2011 at 5:01 am
I feel like almost every young person in sweden have at least one pair of converse. I don’t know why, but somehow we are drawn to them.
Love the outfits!
August 20, 2011 at 5:39 am
I love the natural look of the first girl. On the fence about the converse though.
August 20, 2011 at 11:03 am
I was just in Stockholm a month ago with my boyfriend, and we were amazed by the number of people in white Converse sneakers. Every other person was wearing them, men and women alike.
August 20, 2011 at 12:18 pm
This is the biggest look for young people right now all over Europe! Wherever I went, young girls are pairing long skirts, mini skirts, shorts, jeans, leggings -you name it- with a pair of Converse. Signs of the grunge wave that is slowly taking over. Rock n’ roll.
August 20, 2011 at 1:51 pm
Its nice to see how people wear heels less and less these days. And of people don’t even wear them in the summer, i suppose we will see even less of them in winter. I have been noticing that on the street. I am not sure if anyone will wear heels soon.

Chuck Taylors have been popular since the early 1970′s!

August 20, 2011 at 3:21 pm
Love the way so many women in Stockholm are able to create striking, lovely, and stylish ensembles without resorting to “feminine” cliches.
August 20, 2011 at 3:41 pm
The girls look so elegant in those dresses despite the Converse shoes. Elegance is timeless and always looks good, whereas the flavour of the month accessory is often only about making a youthful personal statement.
August 20, 2011 at 5:58 pm
:) oooh! give me a scissor so that i can diy a shorter length on these two sheer dresses, so as to layer them with shorts, other leggings, with sweater for fall…
August 20, 2011 at 7:20 pm
I’m not a big fan of wearing converse, particularly because I’m a size 9 and on me they look like Ronald McDonald shoes…
But I have to say I love them on these to ladies. Perfect.
August 20, 2011 at 10:40 pm
I am really enjoying those Stockholm pics – no ridiculously high heels and too-tight dresses. Just easy, stylish and comfortable.
The opposite of American femininity.
August 21, 2011 at 8:57 am
That second one os gorgeous!!! Both – the girl and her look!
August 21, 2011 at 2:04 pm
These looks are effortless yet so chic!
Stockholm has beautifully dressed women! (and men!)

Love the way they pair converses with the dresses! Looks really effortless!
August 22, 2011 at 1:38 pm
I’m all for converse and dresses, whatever makes you feel beautiful and ready to take on the day. But could some of these ladies please wash thier converse first… nasty dirty shoes with lovely spring dresses…WTF.
August 22, 2011 at 7:16 pm
Love the simplicity. Simply perfect.
August 22, 2011 at 7:37 pm
I have a dress like this blue dress, it is liberty material fawn and navy, and I made it in the 1980′s I think i will start wearing it again
August 22, 2011 at 7:47 pm
the second look- YES.
the first look- NO, a little too hobo-ish for me
August 22, 2011 at 8:39 pm
i always pair converse with a summer dress. i love the way it looks and so comfy
August 22, 2011 at 8:58 pm
Chuck Taylors are a MUST for every closet, I believe… I have 3. Black, white, tan.
August 22, 2011 at 9:13 pm
Love the sheer and converse looks.. becoming popular.
August 23, 2011 at 10:34 pm
So simple, yet chic
August 24, 2011 at 8:37 pm
I love the white dress flowing in the breeze. But.. common.. it’s not chic wearing converse with a dress, AND they’re not wearing them (in Stockholm) because it’s “effortless”. To wear converse with practically EVERYTHING, dress, jeans and shorts, is, what I believe, only a lack of inspiration and interest in fashion overall. it’s sad and it’s too safe.
August 27, 2011 at 5:02 pm
That looks amazingly sexy. BUt the Converse is what makes it work. I can’t think of any other shoes they could have paired with those dresses without either looking like they are going to prom, or else they are 50′s housewives. With Converse the outfit is youthful and urban.

I’d like to have my picture taken that way. Nice shot! Maybe it’s a memory of the places you have visited. an award-winning photo shoot.

Ha! I was googling up and down to find an online-proof for what I experienced in Stockholm a week ago: when you walk the streets of Stockholm you will experience the same look about 200 times a day: light-blue short denims, a (transparent/oversized) shirt/blouse AND, surprise-surprise white chucks!! Everyone’s wearing white converse! :D I really wonder where that trend comes from… if any celeb wore this style. But, probably it’s just the natural Swedish talent for cool style. ;-)
