GINGER FASHION MONSTERS
August 12, 2011 at 3:05 pm
Certainly a daring combination of geometric patterns, but nonetheless effective!
August 12, 2011 at 3:06 pm
Adorable. Just adorable! I love this photo. He looks so cute with his glasses and belt and tie and everything!
August 12, 2011 at 3:12 pm
I love his belt… a man with attitude

He has that smile that makes him young forever!
August 12, 2011 at 3:24 pm
Wow! He looks amazing! Love every single piece in his outfit!
August 12, 2011 at 3:28 pm
I love avuncular style!
August 12, 2011 at 3:50 pm
He just looks put together. I like it.
August 12, 2011 at 3:54 pm
clean.. elegance.. san belt
sandy Leonard Snaps
August 12, 2011 at 3:55 pm
Yes, he can carry this effortlessly.
August 12, 2011 at 4:01 pm
Once again, another unfortunate glamification of cigarettes. Yes, the rest of him shows style, but Europe is so behind in thinking smoking is still chic..
August 12, 2011 at 4:11 pm
Absolutely timeless. I like his glasses.
August 12, 2011 at 4:12 pm
Nobody can beat Italian style !! What a look :)
August 12, 2011 at 4:16 pm
That belt does not go with that tie that does not go with that suit.
August 12, 2011 at 4:21 pm
Everyone in Florence is so stylish! I can’t wait to go there in November.

August 12, 2011 at 4:32 pm
What about the shoes?! I’m dying to know!
August 12, 2011 at 5:01 pm
I am intrigued by his jacket, the intense bleu color and this fabric.
I almost want to touch the jacket, just to find out how the fabric feels.
August 12, 2011 at 5:03 pm
The belt is a surprise with that ensemble. It intrigues me.
August 12, 2011 at 5:24 pm
I like it a lot.
August 12, 2011 at 5:37 pm
August 12, 2011 at 5:48 pm
I really like this look. The belt is so interesting. I wish I could see the shoes……
August 12, 2011 at 6:02 pm
Class all around. Makes me want to start smoking again.
August 12, 2011 at 7:19 pm
The yellow-and-brown braided belt looks chic. I like his circular frame glasses and the gingham tie.
August 12, 2011 at 7:27 pm
He looks like a nice elegant man but what is it with all these cigarettes – it’s just NOT cool and it’s NOT classy! Lucky we don’t have to smell the smoke as it would detract from his obvious style!
I love the incredibly rich blue of his jacket. He looks so perfectly at ease.
August 12, 2011 at 7:30 pm
I love the rich blue of his jacket. He looks so perfectly at ease.
August 12, 2011 at 7:49 pm
I love how the belt mimics the shirt and jacket combo. His lapel pin and eyewear surprisingly anchor the entire look. The crisp white pocket square and checkerboard tie are simply because he can…Look at him.
August 12, 2011 at 7:52 pm
He def knows how to get older!
August 12, 2011 at 8:18 pm
I enjoy looking at your photos but constantly wonder why so many of your subjects smoke?
August 12, 2011 at 8:33 pm
I could just rave about this pic forever. When I quickly glanced at the headline, I thought I read, “Texas” (instead of “texture”) and I thought, “WHAT? No man in Texas could dress THIS sophisticatedly!” (No offense intended to Texans.)
The fit. The Stanley Tucci-esque glasses, the TIE, somehow complementing, and not competing with, the belt; the pocket square …. AAAHHH. If only Canadian men could dress half this good.
August 12, 2011 at 8:47 pm
I love the pictures you takes and I want to know which lens you use to catch those moments of AWESOMENESS! Thank you
August 12, 2011 at 9:34 pm
I love this mans clean and polished look! The circle glasses make him so much more elegant. His belt is a definite plus!
Check out my trendy blog!
August 12, 2011 at 10:44 pm
interesting combination of tie and feel.
August 12, 2011 at 11:04 pm
Does not work for me. Looks old-closet and the belt overpowers–and not in a good way.

August 12, 2011 at 11:24 pm
What a great look… love Firenze!
August 12, 2011 at 11:52 pm
Ok, is it just me, or does this totally look like Stanley Tucci . . . =) Amazing picture
August 13, 2011 at 12:04 am
Love the color of the jacket. It bends the rules almost to the breaking point and shouts ‘style’ rather than ‘fashion’.
It takes a certain kind of self-confidence to do that, and this man certainly seems to have it.
August 13, 2011 at 1:33 am
Wow. I think he looks very classy. I love the belt that he is wearing, it’s fabulous. Nice coat by the way.
August 13, 2011 at 2:53 am
What is this antismoking hysteria? What should Scott do? Ask him to put it down before taking the photo?
August 13, 2011 at 3:10 am
So chic. Jacket and tie contrast colours perfectly. Great look.
August 13, 2011 at 3:52 am
Textures’ understudy: Stanley Tucci. Both so handsome, so chic.
Sexiest cigarette hold..ever.
Oh my God, it seems my former boss
August 13, 2011 at 4:53 am
To me, there’s nothing more elegant than a navy suit with natural shoulders.
August 13, 2011 at 7:27 am
so stylish. I actually love the fact that’s he’s mixed the textures, patterns and colours. It looks great.
August 13, 2011 at 7:52 am
The look is timeless but still daring. Probably the coolest man alive!
August 13, 2011 at 8:41 am
August 13, 2011 at 10:11 am
Fantastic! Love the glasses, the handkerchief in his jacket pocket, the button on his lapel, o stylish!

Italian men really do know classic elegance … almost better than Italian women.

August 13, 2011 at 11:01 am
Absolutely fabulous combination of suit, belt and tie! I’m one for mixing a suit with casuals-a belt, tennis shoes, espadrilles or off-the-wall tie. This man is inspiring!
August 13, 2011 at 11:20 am
really need to know what his shoes look like to determine if that belt is a bold or no….but the combination looks great w/out the tie.
i’m not a smoker, and it is a foul habit, but the predictable anti-smoking self-righteous snarkiness whenever one of your subjects has a cig in hand is tiresome and pointless. The photo subject is likely not reading this and probably doesn’t give an owl’s nest what we think.
the snarks should just take a deep smoke free breath and let it go.
August 13, 2011 at 3:00 pm
He should be my grandpa! It’d be awesome because he just seems so awesome and interesting character.
August 13, 2011 at 5:52 pm
He looks stunning, but… how come the folks in your Italy pictures always have winter clothes in the sweltering summer weather? How do they pull it off?
August 13, 2011 at 7:20 pm
Very dapper! Blue is my favorite color.
August 13, 2011 at 7:22 pm
THE tie ! in THE combination … THE MAN
August 13, 2011 at 8:40 pm
The belt really does not complement the rest of the clothes. The tones aren’t right with the blue and red and the scale is off in relation to the checks in the tie.
August 13, 2011 at 10:02 pm
I am loving the crisp refinement of this gentleman. I am in awe of how stunning he looks and how elegant. He is something else.
August 13, 2011 at 10:04 pm
“The scale is off in relation to the checks” ??? HAha!!! Thats a funny one. Don’t try to justify your opinion. Thats all you have when it comes to fashion. Its not like we strive to follow the golden rule of proportions like some long dead and correctly forgotten Greek thinkers. He looks good. I generally hate blue/navy suits, but this has spark. Very dapper.
August 13, 2011 at 10:31 pm
Wouldn’t you want to know what he would have been wearing 30 years prior? I’m curious to know what his hair did for him?
August 14, 2011 at 12:12 am
Please don’t crucify me for voicing my opinion here: The braided belt is a bold choice, but it does not go with the rest of his garb. And the pants…(a) they are hiked up to his navel, and (b) they look too baggy. I like the tie, though.
August 14, 2011 at 6:25 am
Might as well not even have a collar.
art deco engagement rings
August 14, 2011 at 7:17 am
Love his belt…..wonderful look.
August 14, 2011 at 8:21 am
I like the harmony of colors in his look.
Blue, red, brown, and even the gold frames of his glasses.
It’s more than saying “pretty nice” or “awesome”.
It’s really much more than saying those things…
August 14, 2011 at 10:54 am
He is so Elegant!
August 14, 2011 at 10:57 am
I love it!! He looks so handsome!!
August 14, 2011 at 1:07 pm
Excellent photo! rich in character and class!

Wow, look at that. I wonder who he is.
August 14, 2011 at 1:57 pm
“the TIE, somehow complementing, and not competing with, the belt” — Yes, LIZPR, well said.
August 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm
Sorry for the triple posting, but I keep looking back at the photo. Amazing to me how he gets away with these clothes without looking too self-consciously “put together.” Somehow! I suppose a lot is in his attitude, simply how he holds himself.
August 14, 2011 at 3:28 pm
Nomi: I swear, I would have commented on this lovely sentence of yours, even if you hadn’t commented on mine:
“I suppose a lot is in his attitude, simply how he holds himself.”
THIS is what turns fashion into STYLE. Yes!!! :D
August 14, 2011 at 3:33 pm
August 14, 2011 at 5:11 pm
I want his belt!! Like you have said before Scott, it is better to grow old gracefully! I think that this man is and with such elegance !
August 14, 2011 at 6:05 pm
He’s very chic. I wish there were more of his type in New York City ;-)
August 14, 2011 at 6:47 pm
l’élégance même… love it!
August 14, 2011 at 7:13 pm
Ha, thanks, LIZPR.
Yes, this is an unusual image for me. Not that I don’t appreciate many of the men on these pages, but this fellow in particular transcends in a way that I think may be rarer for men than women when it comes to fashion/style.
August 15, 2011 at 6:47 am
Looks brilliant! I’m curious about the shoes…considering the belt.

“i’m not a smoker, and it is a foul habit, but the predictable anti-smoking self-righteous snarkiness whenever one of your subjects has a cig in hand is tiresome and pointless.”
Who’s snarking now?
For goodness’ sake. We’re commenting on a guy’s belt, which hardly matters in the scheme of it ALL. So we can surely comment on his cigarette, which is an ever-present accessory for smokers.
August 15, 2011 at 1:54 pm
“Its not like we strive to follow the golden rule of proportions like some long dead and correctly forgotten Greek thinkers.”
They’re long dead but I would argue it would be incorrect to forget them. There were some fine thinkers back then, with names like Pythagoras and Euclid.
As for proportion in style and fashion, I would also argue that it is important, in fact, very important. The “golden ratio” is also present in nature and not forgettable.

He is really elegant and sharp, one word power.
August 15, 2011 at 7:24 pm
Re: belt hiked up to waist…it’s an age thing. We will all be doing it sooner or later. Gravity + shape shifting of the body…
This gent looks fantastic. Thank you for continually showing older people. Congrats on your new site!
August 15, 2011 at 10:44 pm
nicely done. love that confident look :)
August 15, 2011 at 10:52 pm
Actually … The belt is supposed to be at the waist. If it’s riding your hips, it’s too low. The gentleman in the picture has it right — for men of any age.
IS THIS IT? models review
August 16, 2011 at 5:19 am
In Italy (few good things there are in fact…) it’s if not ordinary at least not surprising to see such an impeccable and refined elegance – and I’m very glad about it…
August 16, 2011 at 7:41 am
Don’t love the belt, but the rest is quite elegant. And love the pants/coat combination!
August 16, 2011 at 12:04 pm
just exudes confidence with pairs well with his suit and his off beat beat just gives a dash or judgement error
August 16, 2011 at 12:38 pm
Ah, this makes me miss Florence! I studied there for about a year and always loved to admire what the Italians were wearing.
August 16, 2011 at 5:15 pm
lose the cigarette! but he has a nice outfit!
August 17, 2011 at 5:57 am
oh, i love this! so cool!
August 17, 2011 at 7:43 am
I would love to see a vintage photo of him. Did he always wear his confidence so well, or did he grow into it…
August 17, 2011 at 1:12 pm
August 18, 2011 at 12:18 am
He wears his skin like it’s part of his outfit. Absolutely brilliant.
August 18, 2011 at 11:00 am
I wanna be like this when I grow up . I wish we could see the shoes
August 22, 2011 at 11:00 pm
The meme “Like a boss” has never been more appropriate. I’m not crazy about the belt, but I think he’s got the confidence to pull it off.
October 15, 2011 at 11:14 am
That is from where Italy should restart
