Love the creative lace and the converse .. its a fusion i would never be able to carry .. but seen like this it is very streetwise …
August 9, 2011 at 9:24 am
I love this. Something just works – and she’s gorgeous.
I’ve also never liked Converse, but they just work with everything.

I DON’T like this one…. I’m not sure but I feel depressed when I see it… odd, I know, but it’s “down”…
August 9, 2011 at 9:29 am
Simplicity at its best :)
August 9, 2011 at 9:38 am
We (the swedes) have been wearing converse shoes with anything going anywhere for a while now. It’s crazy, you’ll go out clubbing and you see men in smart suits and women in stunning maxi dresses, and they are all wearing it with worn out converse sneakers!
Love it! This is how I perceive my style, which I like to think of as ‘off-duty surf[er]‘, but I wonder how others would describe this style. Bohemian? Urban bohemian?
August 9, 2011 at 9:39 am
This is the kind of picture that I always like. The figure of a woman reading a book, it’s romantic.
I like that long braid that she has, her long open jersey, and the lace at the bottom of the skirt.
As always inspiring and I can always get ideas when composing my wardrobe.

she looks stunning! i love this photo! x
August 9, 2011 at 9:45 am
I really wanted to like this look, but the lace border on the skirt ruins it for me. It would be SO much better without. Love the long sweater and her colorful bag.
August 9, 2011 at 9:51 am
how do you catch the most unique feelings from every person you choose in your photography? I love her outfit… it is so original! I love her dedication to the pages from her book… and I love the place behind, which seems to be some quiet corner in the middle of the noisy town. Just great!
August 9, 2011 at 9:52 am
Love all the patterns! And her shoes!
August 9, 2011 at 9:57 am
i love her vintage skirt!! soo pretty… and soo much more charater than the usual stuff
August 9, 2011 at 9:58 am
I love the bag, she looks gorgeous!
dont know if my previous comment went thru so writing it again. love the vintage look of her skirt. adds a lot more character
August 9, 2011 at 10:04 am
what a great outfit, I like everything she’s wearing- the skirt is fabulous
August 9, 2011 at 10:09 am
Love the whole combo, not many can venture out to wear such a combination. Definitely not me, but it looks very cool on the others…Btw, I got your book at the Strand Bookstore in NYC…Loving it, meant to get it for a while!

Modern day Frida Kahlo.
August 9, 2011 at 10:22 am
Interesting, but she seems sad.
August 9, 2011 at 10:28 am
Her Purse is incredible! I love her faded tee as well.
August 9, 2011 at 11:10 am
Great Picture Scott. That skirt looks 3D
August 9, 2011 at 11:19 am
Youth is the best and cheapest fashion accessory.
August 9, 2011 at 11:23 am
She’s awesome! It looks as though she just grabbed some of this, add that, yet it all works. Dig the vintage bag – little coin purses made of that same type of ‘material’ always fascinated me as a kid – neat tactile contrast to the whole.
August 9, 2011 at 11:25 am
The “love” is gone in I Love NY… speaks volumes. Her look, her clothes, her posture… AMAZING!!! Thank you for capturing this!

Love the Chuck Taylors!
August 9, 2011 at 11:33 am
My apologies if this appears as a re-posting. This woman strikes me as a modern-day interpretation of Frida Kahlo.
August 9, 2011 at 11:34 am
I love this look, bohemian and romantic. I have a pair of sneakers, but never wear them with a skirt. Maybe…
August 9, 2011 at 11:39 am
Very cute. I like the fact that her t-shirt has been through the wash many times. The heart in I Love NY is almost totally faded.
August 9, 2011 at 11:43 am
I think the look is very playful and funny, BUT it doesn’t work for me.
It’s a bit too ‘youth-ish’, and it seems as there is no thought behind the outfit.
I do love her hair though, that braid is amazing (if it’s her own hair)!
August 9, 2011 at 11:57 am
she’s very beautiful… and she pulls off the mix of patterns so well! great shot :)

Qué ternura, tan acentuadamente femenina. La amo.
August 9, 2011 at 12:44 pm
The shoes made the outfit. They made it into something I now want to wear! Thanks for the idea.

August 9, 2011 at 1:12 pm
Converse goes with everything!!!
August 9, 2011 at 1:14 pm
I bet she never expected to be photographed for a fashion blog! I like the graffiti squiggle on the wall behind her, it is a perfect off-set to her t-shirt and sneakers. You are the master of subtle composition. The braid is cool and not many carry make it work–she does.
August 9, 2011 at 1:18 pm
What most won’t know about this shot is that the girl is sitting in front of Lisbeth Salandar’s (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) 7-11 in Södermalm. Many great things to see and do in the city. See you in just a few short weeks Stockholm! Can’t wait to see more shots this week from the Sartorialist in STHLM in the meantime.
August 9, 2011 at 1:22 pm
Easy and quirky style is right up my alley! Loving this look. She looks worldly and yet relaxed.
August 9, 2011 at 1:25 pm
Wonderful mix, I like it!!
August 9, 2011 at 1:52 pm
she looks like someone who timetravelled from the earlier decades … one of the best shots..love the braids and the skirt

I like this one as well.
I remember I was strolling through the streets of Stockholm…it’s such a nice city. And the sun is always shining bright in the summer!

I love how original she looks and her deep expression as she reads her book. And she did a great job integrating bright colors by wearing that bag.

This is pretty much exactly how I dressed when I was 14 and 15 years old, in the mid-90′s. Bun, braids, or wrapped-around braid as shown here; fitted, vintage tee; quirky, thrift-store maxi skirt; cross-body hobo bag; and Chuck Taylors, Converse One-Stars, or Vans. And I’m sure I always had some sort of book with me. It’s so strange for me to see it as someone’s current look! :)
August 9, 2011 at 3:15 pm
Such a wonderful and beautiful photo!
I really like it.
August 9, 2011 at 3:24 pm
Her style is growing on me. She mixes so many different styles and things that they become one style. Just brilliant! As a Finn I always admire the taste of the Swedes!
Love love love
August 9, 2011 at 3:32 pm
Love it…very captivating in an indescribable way. The beaded purse is the ultimate focal point!
August 9, 2011 at 3:53 pm
Wow, I love the mix of the lacy maxi-skirt and the cute Converse! The funky bag is a cool touch =)
August 9, 2011 at 4:07 pm
I love the faded I <3 NY shirt. Apparently she really loves it a lot if she wears it that much. Or not at all, if she doesn't take care of the shirt, depends on how one chooses to see this…
August 9, 2011 at 4:26 pm
Prints all over! Different!
August 9, 2011 at 4:37 pm
I love this, no leather, easy and pretty. gorgeous hair and awesome purse!

I have to say it’s beautiful posts like that that have inspired me to set up my own blog and share my voice.
Thank you for inspiring me!
August 9, 2011 at 5:17 pm
I’m actually really sick of Converse shoes. Like Mon&Me said, everyone in Sweden wears them all the time, with anything! But I gotta say, I love her hair! http://whatisthenewblack.blogspot.com/
August 9, 2011 at 5:40 pm
I love how the Swedes can be serious & whimsical at the same time. Genius.

Her pensive face is beautiful but her skirt with the lace curtain is more appropriate for a folkloric dancer in the Ukraine.

She is so beautiful, could be in a Renaissance painting.
Terrible outfit to my taste. Mismatch that does not work for me.
August 10, 2011 at 2:14 am

Her name is Linn Tabudlong! She is, amongst other things, a singer i a band called little marbles. She looks amazing as usual.
August 10, 2011 at 1:33 pm
I can’t help but feel like that ultra-faded T-shirt actually says “I have nothing but the blankest of feelings where New York is concerned” in an overly loud and dramatic voice. Whistling in the dark. It almost looks like she faded the heart on purpose, without fading the letters so much.
The story my mind concocts involves a once treasured lover, a madcap trip to New York where she bought the shirt, and heartbreak. She looks sad, and it makes the story. Your photographs are always so compelling.
August 10, 2011 at 4:07 pm
Wow she’s so cool and beautiful at the same time, she looks like she’s really expressing herself in her clothes, and doesn’t let them overpower her.
August 10, 2011 at 11:17 pm
Adorable. I could never say anything bad about an outfit that starts with Converse. But this is especially good. i love the skirt and of course the shirt.
August 10, 2011 at 11:19 pm
I think I will look her up. I would like to hear what she sounds like. Interesting band name. But then, aren’t they all.
August 11, 2011 at 10:08 am

Interesting. Not beautiful, but very interesting. Like Stef, I also dressed like this in the 90′s, when I was 14-15 years old.

Love the colors of her bag.

A lovely modern adaptation of Frida Kahlo <3
December 3, 2012 at 10:52 am
Change those clothes for New York’s sake!
She’s pretty, but dressed in such poor taste.
I hope that she’s reading some kind of a guide book on how to dress properly. Once she does that, the worried look in her face will vanish

God, how did I miss this angelic picture. Celestial.
