Random comment. I love all the casual looks for the woman, but what about the “work” look. You have so many pictures of men in beautiful suits and ties, holding briefcases, who could easily walk into any corporation, bank or law firm. But most of the woman looks are geared to casual or very laid back work environments. Giovanne’s dresses and the young sophisticate is probably as far as I could go in a corporate environment…needing inspiration to not look like a “suit” in a suit all the time.

Been wondering when you’d make the switch. Nice clean design.

For what it’s worth, the only thing I wish your blog had (the new and the old) is when you click on the photos I wish you got a higher quality image. Some of the best things are in the details, and it’s hard to seem them clearly.

Wish to have tumblr share it!
I love your work!
It has been very aspirational and motivating for me.

Thanks for this post! I had definitely lost you through the old RSS. I love your new site. Congratulations on getting it up and running!
As a geek, I really appreciate that the old links redirect to the correct pages on the new site!

great make over Scott! only one thing… I was checking all the time if you would finally update the Sartoria-list, which apparently got lost in the process . Any chance of finishing it and having it back? I seriously need a more-than-perfect dry-cleaner in Milan! :)

Very nice revamp, congrats! I was wondering when you were going to take the step :)

I like the updated layout. Very clean and easy to get around. One positive out of the change is that your old site was taking a long time to download. This has noticeably improved.

hoorah! instant sartorialist … nice to not have to wait for the photos to load. it’s like instant gratification ;)

It looks great and your photos are wonderful … however the one thing that REALLY bugs me is that upon opening the site you can’t see an entire photo without scrolling. that seems like a website design 101 no-no. It takes away from your photos, and the initial impact of the site, significantly. Is there a way you can avoid that? there is too much space taken up with the header. I used to love being able to click on your site and immediately see an image. The impact is so much less now.

Can you add a LIKE or LOVE button under each photograph (like Facebook) so that we can instantly love a look or a certain photograph? The ae so many times I have wished you had that feature!
August 4, 2011 at 2:11 pm
please please make it so that we laptop users can, somehow, see the photos all in one go. thanks x

Fantastic site… as always
I look forward to your posts every morning :)

Scott — I’ve subscribed to the new RSS feed, but still don’t have all the latest content.
Still having problems with the feed?

I like the new site and glad you got rid of the awful American Apparel ads. The owner of that company is so sleazy. I don’t think you should support his company and your site is better quality than a company such as American Apparel.
By the way I understand why you would like bigger images on your site however now I can’t see the whole image on my lap top. I have to scroll down to see the whole image which doesn’t give the same affect as seeing the image whole on my screen.

I take that back – ugh… the American Apparel ads are back. tisk tisk :-)

sart i love your site and book. please take this as one person’s humble opinion and not a rant. one of the best things about your old site was how basic the layout was. there was nothing to distract from the subjects and their uniforms. while the new template is polished and impressive, i think the old format showcased the photographs better.

I’m also still having problems with the RSS feed.

I too am not having any luck with the feed, either using your regular URL or the feedburner one you supplied above.

Love the new look site. Every picture now loads perfectly and fast for me now. Bella.

Hey! Nice new site, now i’ve finally got to it…..
I use a PC and I had an awful problem with internet explorer flicking wildly between the url for this site and the url for the old blog site… I solved it by going through Google and landing here!
I don’t know if it is the site or my shoddy old software that is causing my trouble, but I thought you should know – just in case!
PS – I bought Vogue Italia with the incredible curvy shoot!!! (It took 34 phone calls – I live in Canberra, Australia – it was hard to get!) But something that has struck me about your posts recently Scott…. I don’t know if the last shot of a woman you called curvy, which caused a hullaballoo and maybe put you off – or if curvy’s just don’t dress as interestingly – but your blog photos tend to be on the trim side. Which I am more than fine with! But some variety is nice – and i’d love some tips for what to do with my hips – cos I can’t do the 1920′s stright line like some girls can!!! (Not that I mind – I can do marylin MUCH better…!) Anyway, I love this blog and the inspiration I get from it everyday (Garance’s is brilliant too!) so most probably don’t listen to me and keep on shooting what you love! I’m pretty good at amways finding something to love in what I see.

I love how the photos load faster now and we are able to see live twitter feeds.
However the previous format were better in several degrees. Firstly we were able to click on each month and see big photos without having to click on each of them. Secondly I agree with Nicholas about how the previous format showcased the photos better.
