Fantastic. I begin to fall for classic plaid shirts. I love the long cardigan underneath, love dark jeans, love the belt, love sunglasses. But this woman can probably wear anything… Beautiful woman.
God I love this women! Something about her is just so radiant!!! She’s a real breath of fresh air…you know? Love EVERYTHING she wears…Does anyone know what she actually does for a living? Would love to see more of her!
Truly amazing photo. Not only the girl herself, but the weather, the atmotsphere, the clothes..
Again with the bright klein blue to contrast, this is something I need to pick up myself, so inspiring! A hint of colour to an otherwise dark outfit.. Much needed in dull Sweden.
I didn’t truly like the jean colour, would’ve preferred it black or light denim. Or at least not that undefinable dark blue/green kinda Diesel tinto.
We’ve been seeing a lot of plaids from you. I love it.
I, for one, cannot believe how slender she looks with so many layers. It’s also a really put-together layered look, as I can see every layer in its order, neatly arranged at her elbow.
Do you think such layering can achieve the very slender effect only on a very thin woman? Or is this sort of look an art that bigger woman could attain to?
Her hair just perfects the overall ease of the outfit. I really like this.
i love how well the layers blend together! this is what i call a perfecr outfit; night or day, rain or shine, you can go pretty much anywhere and look stylish in this look.
wow!!! thats all I can say. I wish I would see these people in the streets once in awhile. Just Beautiful, the layering, the long blue plaid dress shirt, that brings alive the entire ensemble. It is so relaxed her outfit, all the way up to her hair, so effortless, yet sophisticated.
Love her hair, her sunglasses, and her beautiful attitude. The outfit, not so much. The plaid shirt and the belted sweater are already looking too trendy to me.
Gorgeous. The jacket is superb. It’s plain but it accentuates her tiny frame and the arm length is perfect. The blue and the black work really well. Normally, I’m not a fan of those two colours together. Only thing I’m not sure about is the wash of those jeans.
I’ve been an absolute fan of hers since first seeing her on your site–she always looks so good but also very natural. She’s a total inspiration. More pics of her please…:^)
on the street? this isn’t right before or after a fashion show? i think it is. please fairly represent these glamorous people in their glamorous life. don’t make us feel like they look like this when they run to the corner store to buy milk.
so, so fabulous. her personality shines first and then her beautiful hair and smile and then the way that the clothes compliment her body and aforementioned personality. <3
So totally refreshing! Incredible: this blue -a trendy color- is brought back to amaze with ingenious use of layers to create a perfect balance of confidence, ease, and great creative sense. Yasmin deserves more credit than some other figures that merely buy and wear whole outfits, loosing all sense of whim or even charisma. Yasmin makes easy to understand the difference between “consumers” of fashion, and a real fashionable self.
I love the shots of this woman! In fact, I was just thinking of her because I’m wondering if I should chop my hair off like hers. What a great cut and smile!! She’d look amazing wearing anything.
I was just thinking of Yasmin Sewell today, as I’m headed to the hairdresser on Tuesday to give my curls some life! It’s amazing how she can make everything work for her body and lines… love the lumberjack shirt and grandpa cardigan with a lovely ladylike coat!
Damn her, she always looks beautiful! The belt at the waist paired with the partly open cardigan might make others look pregnant, but she still looks fabulous. Love the long curving lines of the coat and the casually pulled-up sleeves.
Yasmin’s not French-she is Australian(but lives in London and is/was a buyer for Browns?) One of the things i love about Australia is we represent such great diverse styles – the beach babe “Elle” look, the fashion forward Yasmin’s and Cate B’s (but maybe not so much the “yobbo” ugg boot look!!) Anyway, such a lovely happy looking woman-with a great eye for fashion!
The ol’ flanny, very Sydney-western suburbs, circa 1975 (well, it never really went out of fashion). They’ll be laughing their guts out in Blacktown! Perhaps Yasmin is embracing her Australian heritage?
Oh she is a beauty! I love your work, Sart. I also think it’s awesome that you approve all comments before they are published. I used to run a streetstyle-blog, and when we noticed that not all people are very nice, and that the internet may be a cruel place, we had to enable the comments application. It feels like the time for all the small streetstyleblogs is over, but your work is so great, it won’t die out
What I really like is the way she handled sleeves. Both the coat and shirt are great. Although I would work a bit more on the neck. Why not put the shirt collar over the coat?
not sure if this has been said already but it’s yasmin sewel and she’s a buyer for browns in london (or was last time i heard!)….also….she’s not french, she’s australian!! yay for the Aussie contingent :)
I am glad that Spring is almost here. My winter has been so flannel, cashmere and merino wool bakari. This is a great photo that just oozes Spring. In this photo, black has never seemed so full of the life of spring. Brill photo.
GOSH! I love this look! I like how she belted the cardigan, rather than buttoning. The combination of colors is just wonderful! The splash of blue and plaid is done right, with just a little bit of sleeve showing. And most importantly she’s equipped with a beautiful smile. She’s absolutely DIVINE!
I love the jacket. Anyone know who it is by? I’ve noticed here recently and remembered how nice Browns fashion was when I emailed them about a product. You don’t find that too often now.
Hah, she’s not french, she’s australian!..yasmin sewell, former buying director of browns of london. agreed, she is gorgeous with a fantasic sense of style.
Uhg. I don’t know, Sart. Great photo (as usual), but I have to be honest, I didn’t like this look in the 80s, and don’t much care for it now. I see absolutely nothing original here. And all the FAWNING! OMG, it’s really off putting.
How wonderful…so understated and classy. And she doesn’t look like she’s trying too hard – she’s just naturally fabulous.
I have to say, I’m not usually a fan of plaid, but I’m definitely loving it in the looks that you’ve been showing us, Sart. I might have to go out and buy some flannel! :)
@seeker 2:49 pm — I wondered the same thing and there’s a sart photo of her full outfit here http://www.style.com/fashionshows/blogs/sartorialist (See the postings for March 1). Her boots are as chic as the rest of her look.
Each layer must be paper thin to pull off such a slim look, even the rolled up sleeves don’t look bulky, maybe its the lighting, maybe its her, I guess i’ll never know.
is there any chance you can put australian in the title. people don’t read the comments and think she is french. you did after all point out the next photograph of the gentlemen was american.
Haven´t been commenting for a while, cause nearly all the comments are just so awsome, awsome and where do you get this and that.Kinda sick of all the praising comments. As if everyone thinks the same way. This lady is a refreshing pic. Looks like she is really enjoying herself and why not ,the sun is shining and she isn´t over- or underdressed.
she left school at 15, has been buyer at browns for several years and now she is setting up her own fashion consultancy business. very powerful woman, fashion-wise.
great smile. she is an inspiration.
browns is a unique shop because as they pride themselves to buy only what they really like. i look forward to explore their bridal section.
Thank God, one other person didn’t like this 80s flannel look – I am not alone! (I wonder if they’re Australian too, and if this hatred of flannel is merely cultural cringe?) I suspect no-one would be raving about this outfit if this woman was not tall, thin and beautiful. What makes it is the gorgeous smile.
Ah, Yasmin Sewell. Great combination. The colour of her jeans suits the dark blue section of her plaid shirt. Also, the shirt’s sleeve that peeks out a little bit from her blazer/coat gives just that right amount of zest to spice up this whole combo.
this is just beautiful! no better words come to my mind. I would only like to see the shoes too, so I can have a complete image of how this beautiful woman looks:) I hope to get a short description. (and that wild hair and wide smile, beaut..) CeeMarie
yasmin is a dream come true. she has left browns where she was buying director and now launched her own creative consultancy business. watch this space as she shoots for the stars!

Sart : awsome picture…
I wonder what kind of shoes was Yasmin wearing with that outfit??

It’s so funny that everyone says she looks so quintessentially French, because she’s actually Australian.
From Sydney, in fact.

Each layer must be paper thin to pull off such a slim look, even the rolled up sleeves don’t look bulky, maybe its the lighting, maybe its her, I guess i’ll never know.

There you go, guys. The article is a bit old (i.e. she’s now left Browns, etc), but this gives you a good idea of her style:

This beautiful lady is Yasmin Sewell, a buyer for Browns in London and the epitome of chic in my opinion.

Ah, Yasmin Sewell. Great combination. The colour of her jeans suits the dark blue section of her plaid shirt. Also, the shirt’s sleeve that peeks out a little bit from her blazer/coat gives just that right amount of zest to spice up this whole combo.
