Ah, spring really is coming, isn’t it? What lovely details: the scarf, that hat, the necklace, and that hair. Here’s a striking, seemingly effortless man. Beautiful.
This is classic Paris, an effortless yet meticulous look, and his face is wonderful — nonchalant with a hint of a smirk. And, of course, Parisians know how to tie a good scarf.
Oh. He is dashing indeed. I like the subtle references to Paris in his attire. Black and White Stripes, cigarrette, fedora, beautiful person. Slightly ironic in a lovely, calm, casual way.
This is a beautiful look. I love your older subjects. They face the camera in such an assured and tranquil way. Hope to see the “silver fox femme” again soon.
This is very chic and simple–exactly what I’d expect in Paris. It’s also true androgynous dressing; it would look equally great on a man or a woman without “compromising” masculinity or femininity.
The grays are work together beautifully, and I love the amulet peeking out underneath the scarf…but what really makes this photograph for me is the slightly raised eyebrow and the relaxed but slightly haughty air of a man who’s laid back and confident. I may be a college student, but to me this expression is the epitome of cool.
Would never have given him a second look on the street but then again, the scarf, the wonderful way the fabric folds around his neck and accents the vertical lines in the jersey. I very much agree with the post about the older subject’s faces; visions of serenity and competence no matter what their walk of life has been.
Under the beard lies a great face. He needs a shave, haircut, manicure, a grey suit, white shirt, black knit tie and suede tassels. He’d look brilliant.
one of my favorites… ever. so fun to read the comments on this one. i love what he is wearing, and the mood of the photograph is so quiet but interesting.
it’s the hat. has been since the 30′s; finish a look-or anchor a look around a true Vintage Fedora, quality goods-and it feels all there, visually. The range and scope of hats is such that whatever statement is being made, the hat reinforces it-like a quick jab from a good boxer. it’s the hat.
