He looks fab. I love seeing traditional guys rocking the modern.
March 17, 2008 at 1:39 am
this is my favorite of your india pics so far. you could swoop him up, transplant him into nyc, and he wouldn’t miss a beat!
March 17, 2008 at 2:19 am
I love how the shape of the top part of his turban is echoed in the bottle caps of the ads behind him. What a fabulous compostion!
March 17, 2008 at 2:50 am
this is sick dude… I am impressed by your hunting skills.. I have roamed the streets of Delhi for ages, but not seen anything so brilliant… The mixing of patterns…the tone… sweet stuff.. I do wish he had that one bit of colour man… something….
March 17, 2008 at 2:54 am
so this is where all the cute desi guys are hiding. goddamit.
March 17, 2008 at 3:00 am
He’s really making the patka work.
March 17, 2008 at 3:24 am
i am also quite fond of the setting.it’s wild.
March 17, 2008 at 5:14 am
AWESOME! Traditional + rock and roll has never looked so well pulled together. Love the mix of geometric patterns with the shirt and belt. Great accessories too (the glasses crack me up!). What a natural.
March 17, 2008 at 5:18 am
I’m enjoying The New Delhi colors! So Vivid!
March 17, 2008 at 6:27 am
FANTASTIC! That’s all I can say about your photos in India!
I think that your ‘hunt’ in New Delhi has been far more interesting that in any other 1st world capital.
Now I’m anxiously waiting for more!!
March 17, 2008 at 6:54 am
I like the ice-cream-cookie-soda lorry in the background, its kind of tacky advertising stile, but it makes my eyes happy. Colour, colour, colour!
March 17, 2008 at 7:04 am
whoa! coolest guy ever. And Im lovin it in front of the soda truck.Awesome shot.

March 17, 2008 at 10:00 am

March 17, 2008 at 10:59 am
I adore this whole look. The rocker and the traditional Indian look is an interesting, albeit amazing, contrast.
March 17, 2008 at 11:06 am
thank you maurice for pointing out the paper clip as tie clip! I used to use 2 paper clips and a rubber band as cufflinks sometimes.. very smart.
T IN LA
March 17, 2008 at 12:10 pm
I love the Delhi pics – they reveal a different side than what I’m used to seeing. I love this guy – as an anonymous said – he would fit in NY, so I say he would also fit well on any street in L.A.
March 17, 2008 at 12:30 pm
OMG you are in India!! Wow, your photos there are going to be a set of jewels to admire!! Cant wait to post this comment and head off checking the other photos out!
March 17, 2008 at 1:30 pm
I love the India photos, but this one is the best yet!
March 17, 2008 at 2:58 pm
Perfect! All I can say in addition is:
Dost Whol Jo TREAT De!!
March 17, 2008 at 3:33 pm
This is a really cool stylish dude! How come people in India are smiling (or, who knows, maybe even laughing out loud) while in NY they mostly look serious (or maybe even gloomy)? Just asking…
March 17, 2008 at 3:50 pm
Translation of the mango juice billboard “A Friend is Someone who Gives you a Treat”
March 17, 2008 at 5:48 pm
I wanna be his friend! He just seems like he has a really cool story. And the accessories are FIYAH! Just enough. Keep ‘em comin’ Sart.
March 17, 2008 at 6:32 pm

March 17, 2008 at 7:09 pm
I absolutely love this photo…every element of it is captivating!
March 17, 2008 at 7:22 pm
He’s definitely one rockin’ Sikh!
March 17, 2008 at 7:36 pm
cool kid indeed. i’ve always thought that real ‘coolness’ exists only in individuals willing to be themselves, unabashedly and without apology. rock on kid!
March 17, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Aw, this guy brings a smile to my face. He seems super cool! I especially like the “ethnic” turban mixed with the “urban” rnr style below.
March 18, 2008 at 2:58 am
I had to draw him, his style is just too great.
March 18, 2008 at 10:38 am

March 19, 2008 at 1:08 pm
Dude is freakin cool. Wonder what this guy drives?
March 19, 2008 at 3:48 pm
notice the contrast between the background and the subject. the subject himself is dressed head-to-toe in monochrome, but the background is bursting with bold colour. genius!
March 20, 2008 at 1:41 am
Aaaaah, pictures like this just make me smile!
Keep ‘em comin’, Sart!
March 20, 2008 at 9:49 am

March 24, 2008 at 4:30 am
that’s so cool.
March 24, 2008 at 6:34 pm
I absolutely do not like this look at all. Yuck! The baggy pants make his torso look strangely elongated and his legs look like short stick. Not a good look in any culture.
March 26, 2008 at 10:25 am
he looks just great! he has found his own way how to put modern and traditional style together and it looks so cool!
March 28, 2008 at 4:53 am

lol yeah well guess what? we got swag. hahhaha. jk but all i meant is we do have fashion in India, but more Indian than western. Kurta Pyjama on women can look absolutely any way they want it to. People resonate themselves more often than not, and naturally as peer pressure makes no sense in such a diversely cultural country. Every single thing is not gross or disgusting or rude or ugly or irresponsible. And its hard to get over the surface of India but when you do theres absolutely nothing like it. And do NOT get me started on food….
