That’s a beautiful sweater. I love the cool, understated confidence.

Not a fan of those pleated pants, but this man looks generally very neat and nice and he has a very pleasant mediterranean face.
And didn’t you get to see Albert Elbaz in the Lanvin show? I love his style so much!

I love the color combination and streamlined overall effect. The pants look a bit too narrow, with bulges in the wrong places.
March 20, 2008 at 8:40 am
I love the silhouette, and the understated combination of textures and patterns. That scarf and those pants, -I mean, come on that’s wonderful! The buttons on the sweater unite what would be an otherwise awkward color combination. This is both timeless and very now.

Mr Sart — you are a sucker for a scarf… take that off and you have Mr Rogers.
Happy Birthday to Mr Rogers, by the way. Hence the post?
March 20, 2008 at 9:45 am
The subtle camel and charcoal of the clothes echoed in the background… wonderful!

LOVE the combination of camel and charcoal!
March 20, 2008 at 9:59 am
Wow very inspirational.nice colours, texture, fit.Is that the regular way to tie a scarf?
March 20, 2008 at 10:49 am
Refreshing. This man looks intelligent. He dresses well but that, obviously, is not where his day ends.
March 20, 2008 at 10:51 am
oy! enough with the scarfs already.
March 20, 2008 at 12:21 pm
I agree with the previous poster. He looks neat and nice. The seater is a good quality and the scarf really pulls the outfit together.
March 20, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Great look. I love the pants they fit like a pair of pants really should. The cardigan is great but I woul love to see if he was wearing anything underneath perhaps a tee shirt or a shirt. The scarf is great as well. Another thing that I would want to see is what shoes he was wearing. Anyhow from me this gets an A+

Fitting to have a sweater on here since it’s Sweater Day. Mr. Rogers RIP.
March 20, 2008 at 1:19 pm
For me, the best thing about this outfit is that it contains pieces most of us own. Two things I love, one, all of the garments fit well; two, it can be done on the cheap. And yes I agree he has a v handsome face! Jorge from W Palm Beach

The perfect understated yet seriously stylish combination!
March 20, 2008 at 2:24 pm
A cardigan can look so good!
March 20, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Odd lighting S – is this a test to see who’s paying attention? Seems weird.
March 20, 2008 at 4:06 pm
The white lines in the scarf fringes makes this outfit lift up.
March 20, 2008 at 4:19 pm
I like his mustasch and hair.
March 20, 2008 at 7:56 pm
Looks like the german chief editor ofGerman GQ, Manuel Frei!
March 20, 2008 at 10:40 pm
the sweater is a bit short and frumpy. and the pants could use a nice press ;)
March 20, 2008 at 11:09 pm
when you come to Los Angeles you can get all the young men and some women wearing little fedoras, it’s our scarf.
March 20, 2008 at 11:46 pm
this guy is trim and fit and tasteful, with a good body for clothes, yet those awful sweater pockets look like droopy little boobs on his waist. just plain bad! nice colors though for a late winter day.
March 21, 2008 at 12:40 am
“Mr Sart — you are a sucker for a scarf… take that off and you have Mr Rogers.”
Or maybe take Mr. Rogers and add a scarf worn with elan and you say goodbye to the “nerdy neighbor” and hello to the “man about town.”
It’s all a matter of degrees … !
March 21, 2008 at 8:34 am
Yeah it is the german chief editor of German GQ Manuel Frei…
March 21, 2008 at 8:59 am
I really love this…perfect.
He knows what he is doing!
March 21, 2008 at 9:46 am
A rather nice ensemble, great variety of textures, definitely an understated confidence.
March 21, 2008 at 2:34 pm
always loved that cardigan color but it never looked good anywhere near my face. Something about face complexion or whatever…
March 21, 2008 at 2:49 pm
He looks pretty much at home in his clothes, thats what makes this simple look so convincing.(…like Wes Anderson in the pic below!)
The cardigan seems to be a quality piece ;)
Scott…can we see more shoes, please?Shoes can make or break ….
March 21, 2008 at 6:24 pm
He is super hot.mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
March 22, 2008 at 7:05 pm
This gent is wearing my favorite color combination. Nice interplay of textures, too.
March 22, 2008 at 11:09 pm
The fit, colors, and proportions are immaculate.
March 23, 2008 at 1:17 am
Has anyone else noticed that 90% of the posts on this blog are positive? I’ve asked questions here that I thought were important and serious (visible penis line in another post? the weird little saggy pockets of the sweater on this post?) and they were never posted. Since when do fashionistas have such thin skins? In future, I’ll come to look at the pretty pictures since I find this site incredibly inspiring – there’s nothing like it anywhere – but no more comments from me.
March 23, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Am I the only one to notice the saggy, droopy love-handle effects of the cardigan? What’s with that?
Yes, he’s handsome, but is this a blog about handsome men or well-dressed men?
March 23, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Love the color combination! Elegant and neat. You’re right Miss Mary, the columns do match his clothes!
March 23, 2008 at 11:09 pm
I like the blue scarf, folded to perfection.————-http://www.hideNsneek.com
March 24, 2008 at 12:45 am
Notably good fit, color, texture. Superb!
The scarf is a little over the top, though…there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, eh?
Question for you, Sart, with tongue only partially in cheek: Is there ever a “bad” scarf, in your estimation?
March 24, 2008 at 2:34 am
he has a strong resemblance robert deniro
March 24, 2008 at 2:49 am
I love the softness of the sweater and scarf. But mostly I like the kindness in his eyes.
An Aesthete's Lament
March 24, 2008 at 9:04 am
Very nice, but everything looks a bit stretched … the sweater is limp, the trousers are too tight, hence too creased … if his ensemble were a bit crisper, and tidier, it would look better …
March 24, 2008 at 4:44 pm
dapper and dashing.
March 25, 2008 at 4:12 pm
He has a very good taste of trousers. Nice look. I’m wearing wool or woolblend trousers all the time. My favourite colour is charcoal, but I like black, navy, brown, olive and grey too. Nice cardigan too, an interesting colour combination.

Manuel Frei – German GQ’s editor in chief
March 26, 2008 at 9:00 am
I would date that man.
April 16, 2008 at 10:11 am
HA, That´s Manuel from GQ Gemany, formerly my colleague at AD Germany…just one comment: Manuel got style, and this is one of his more subtle outfits: Imagine him in a white and green striped shirt with pink tie and bronze jacket! Cool!
December 1, 2011 at 5:47 pm
Oh yeah. Very nice! Love a stylish man, and would love to see him in the outfit described above:)
