Chucks are the quintessential shoe, complete lack of fuss, and completely stylish. Despite my closet full of shoes and my job designing them, I always end up wearing chucks. You can do just about anything in them until they are destroyed and then they are blessedly affordable so you can buy another pair. People love to make lists about wardrobe essentials and what-not, and if I were to make one, yes, chucks would be higher up than the ultimate commandment, thou shalt own a black trench.
Nice! I just wore a dress that looks like this!!! I am very attracted to this style, although I was attending a funeral when I wore it so I couldn't rock the sneakers…
What a beautiful photo! How nice this girl is. I love her outfit, her look, her simple smile. And I love the street in the background as well. Thanks for sharing! Kinga
Converse Chuck Taylor basketball shoes: I wore them in middle school and high school to play basketball, and that's about all. I've never been able to warm up to them as a high-style wardrobe element, for men or women.
I think the basic womens' Keds or Tretorns would work much better than the Chucks for this woman.
Oh gawd … I want those legs! I'm a Chuck Taylor freak, but I can never make the sneakers look so cool. What really fascinates me about her is not so much the legs – many girls have them, but her effortless coolness.
Simplicity in black-grey and white(clothes and background).Perfect. I love that picture from the bicycle to the question mark of her bag(also in black & white)and the grey paving stones…the beach under the paving stones("sous les pav

Lovely. It's nice to know that we don't have to wear heels all the time to look chic… Although having the long, lean legs of a dancer probably helps A LOT!
The picture is great- it even makes that ugly building in the back look somehow interesting. The opposite goes for her look – a beautiful girl, but dressed in a boring way…

Marvelous shot! Since I know The Sartorialist blog is not just abt fashion or fashio attitude, whatsoever, I may tell you that some of the pictures of the blog, in their whole ensemble (look, person and place) can transmit some kind of peace to all of us, readers… like this gal you've shot, she's definitely beautiful mainly because of his peaceful look and apparent comfort in her own skin! Just luv, luv, luv the black mini dress!!!!!
Whats great about this photo is not what she is wearing but the shapes, colors and lines that make up your composition. To me its fun to study your application of the principles of making an image. I enjoy your site so much.
I was shocked when I saw this picture. This girl looks exactly like my friend Heather. In fact she is in Berlin a lot and I am pretty sure it is her. Tell her I miss her!
This picture/girl very much captures a common spirit and even style in dancers. It's feminine and simplistic and beautiful while also functional and comfortable. I love that her scarf ends around the same place as her dress and her tousled, chunky bangs. Wonerful.
