Okay Sean Connery, get out of the way! I am in love, and leaving for Florence as soon as possible. Wow, this man is absolutely gorgeous from is flowing silvered locks and beard to his classic shades. Love the white from head to foot. White espadrilles? How many MEN can pull this off and not go in the other direction? I'm counting maybe on one hand and definitely not in the USA. Casual elegance to the max!
All white is the best look. He looks like he owns a thousand luxury yachts and doesn't give a hoot about it.
This was for a spread right? Nobody is this relaxed in real life.
May 21, 2010 at 1:13 pm
comb in the pocket?
May 21, 2010 at 1:15 pm
Is that the most interesting man in the world? Where is his Dos Equis? :)
May 21, 2010 at 1:16 pm
I love white on white for summer, it never tires for me. His white espadrilles especially are a nice touch. When men make an effort with their footwear, I know the rest is going to look good too.
May 21, 2010 at 1:21 pm
Looks right out of an Umit Benan lookbook!
May 21, 2010 at 1:22 pm
Taking in the sun :D
"Suffice it to say that black and white are also colors… for their simultaneous contrast is as striking as that of green and red, for instance." (Vincent van Gogh)
May 21, 2010 at 1:27 pm
Epitome of class
May 21, 2010 at 1:31 pm
He looks great in white, so casual, fresh and chic. I love how he just pulls of those white pants with such ease as if there's nothing to it.
May 21, 2010 at 1:38 pm
I've always believed in age and how it weighs on style (or in this man's case, lightens it)…It's beautiful. I love the easy elegance and the brave all-white of the look.I'm 20 and I couldn't pull this off. I'd be very afraid. And this explains why age–for me–plays an important role in style. This is just perfect.
May 21, 2010 at 1:40 pm
I'm in love.
May 21, 2010 at 1:45 pm
Wow! Really refreshing in white. White under the sun…beautiful.
May 21, 2010 at 1:46 pm
Very handsome….happy weekend.
May 21, 2010 at 1:50 pm
I loveee this! Effortless class
May 21, 2010 at 1:54 pm
Ageless manliness. he looks as if he las had a good life
May 21, 2010 at 1:58 pm
Wow! Please tell me this wasn't staged… that you found someone being this fabulous on their own accord. Even if it is a pose, it's still amazing. We can't even see most of his face but it has so much expression in just the lips and the forehead. Oh summer come quickly! And props to the photographer, as always.
May 21, 2010 at 2:03 pm
Ah, he's wearing espadrilles. Today was a beautiful day in Amsterdam, and it made me wear my beloved espadrilles for the first time this year. It's finally summer, boys and girls. :)
May 21, 2010 at 2:05 pm
I just love how you consistently combine "street" and fashion photography together.
Excellent photo. Nice diagonal compo and great lighting. Some folks would have a tough time with all that white.

"He's a lover, not a fighter, but he's also a fighter – so don't get any ideas…"
Anybody else notice the "Die" by his head? interesting contrast.
Going to look for some espadrilles.

May 21, 2010 at 2:36 pm
We love the all white look. So fresh.
May 21, 2010 at 2:49 pm
So simple, so pure… the mediterranean essence…
May 21, 2010 at 2:50 pm
This is a gorgeous man! Actually any man who can wear all white with that much elegance is gorgeous. Even the beard works… I've got to get me one of them tans.
May 21, 2010 at 2:53 pm
This guy looks like one of Umit Benan's models.. but I don't think he is. Is he ?
Classic and chic. Not everybody looks good all in white, he looks interesting
May 21, 2010 at 2:55 pm
If you didn't tell us this was taken in Florence, I might have been able to guess it just by looking at this guy, leaning against that stone wall. I wish people in America looked like this…
Thanks for sharing this great photo
May 21, 2010 at 3:42 pm
Reminds me of Rene Mathis, the retired super-secret-agent, from James Bond movies.
Or, as Luis said, Umit Benan models.
May 21, 2010 at 3:44 pm
It's amazing how dressing so simply and great grooming can make one look fabulously wealthy.
May 21, 2010 at 3:55 pm
LOL this could totally be some guy sitting outside of Cafe Italia in south philly. Except he's not in a beach chair.

May 21, 2010 at 4:08 pm
What I find great about this outfit is how he combines all white with black watch and sunglasses!
May 21, 2010 at 4:09 pm
Is it common for men to wear white in florence? Feels like I see it a lot in movies.
May 21, 2010 at 4:10 pm
Love him. So fresh in all white. Very chic! x
The rocks behind him rock. Looks like they've been his friends for years.
May 21, 2010 at 4:29 pm
Is this the model for Umit Benan? Anyone know? Umit's Turkish, but I believe he lives in Italy…
May 21, 2010 at 4:34 pm
Stay thirsty, my friends.
May 21, 2010 at 4:54 pm
Very sexy man.
May 21, 2010 at 4:58 pm
Definitely one cool character, loving the all white for summerhttp://www.arashmazinani.com
Like the photo and the style. However, white pants are impractical. They show everything. A natural linen or slightly tan cotton trouser will hide some dirt. You'll be able to wear them at least twice before you'll have to wash them.
May 21, 2010 at 5:12 pm
Can I introduce him to my Mom????
May 21, 2010 at 5:22 pm
Yes….andI will no longer discourage my husband from wanting to buy espidrills, silly me.
May 21, 2010 at 5:29 pm
what a mix of dashing and daring. i love the nautical feel and the deeply serene, poetic, almost ceremonial feel here. wonderful!
May 21, 2010 at 6:07 pm
White Light/White Heat.
May 21, 2010 at 6:08 pm
White hot silver fox! Simple, elegant. I envy those with olive skin who can wear just white; us celtic types can't get away with it, instead of looking chic we look ill!
May 21, 2010 at 6:10 pm
I love Italian old man style! The chinos.. the loafers.. the silver locks.Gorge.x
May 21, 2010 at 6:22 pm

May 21, 2010 at 7:11 pm
well this is NICE. what a man. heading to florence, or buying white jeans like Garance :)
May 21, 2010 at 7:22 pm
There's a push against bling?
You made my weekend!

May 21, 2010 at 7:29 pm
great eye in that he didn't overdo this look with excessive accessories.
May 21, 2010 at 7:33 pm
Ah, finally, an actual grown up well dressed man again. Bravo.
May 21, 2010 at 7:47 pm
He is wonderful, his body is so relaxationed,I want to be beside him and to rest. The sun and this man / absolutly perfect / – paradise. … and Italy. Dream.I want to be there.
May 21, 2010 at 8:59 pm
This is possibly my favorite picture ever.
May 21, 2010 at 9:43 pm
so much expression, so little effort.
May 21, 2010 at 9:53 pm
white on white is always refreshing. just be sure not to get too much of a tan to offset this monotone palette.
May 21, 2010 at 10:07 pm
white espadrilles… so hard to maintain but just wonderful to wear.
May 21, 2010 at 10:50 pm
Growing up in Hawaii, we wore white T-shirts or white Keds or white shorts… but never all at once. One day, when I was a teen, I saw a suntanned blonde tourist (another teen girl) dressed all in white, head to toe. I thought she looked fantastic, straight out of Seventeen magazine.
But could I have tried that to high school? No way! An all-white get-up would've looked idiotic among the locals.
You need the right context to pull off the all-white look (plus a tan).
May 21, 2010 at 11:34 pm
that's the sexiest old guy ever to grace a fashion photo.
May 22, 2010 at 12:08 am
such a naturally handsome man, seems so effortless. Love him.
May 22, 2010 at 12:31 am
i want to have this casual confidence when i'm his age. like the little blue detail in his pocket.

May 22, 2010 at 4:21 am
….and we're back! finally! I was heart sick with the clownishness of japan (it doesn't take "style" to dress like a clown), the"any ole' thing'll do" of OZ..and now the cowboys of russia..oy vey!
and then, and then…sigh, here he is in all his italian dna, in white espedrilles! Fellow Sarters, kids…it's the rich, wrinkled fabric, the almost "who cares" 'tude (even if it was the stylists')..as he rolled out of bed, grabed what was on the floor and a smoke, and headed for his caffe. i've been sooo jonesin' for al bazar, gino, the "annas", giovanna, the Grace kelly in milano…the bike boys, the lovely Milanese lady with "sparkle".Poor Sart…you travel/work so hard for us..and all i could think on this romp was.."lordy, will the Italians ever Back"??? there is a god, and He's wearing wrinkled whites and espadrilles in Firenze!
May 22, 2010 at 4:49 am
Wow! miam! vivement l'
May 22, 2010 at 4:52 am
Stunning. This has knocked all the others off to top spot for me, Sarty. It's got me dreaming of my summer holiday… Thank you.

May 22, 2010 at 10:33 am

May 22, 2010 at 11:18 am
I love his style.
What is it about the men here?
May 22, 2010 at 12:00 pm
looks like giancarlo gianini, as someone noticed above!!!
May 22, 2010 at 12:15 pm
Is this a real person living now? Hahaha. Hard to believe someone would dress this chic. He looks like a modern Cary Grant, to me. And when you investigate what he is wearing it looks as comfortable as the casual/sloppy clothes most people wear today but so much more appropriate. Inspiring.

I hope I look and act this way when I reach this young gentleman's age.

May 24, 2010 at 3:39 am
He looks like he has wealth of knowledge about the world. I wouldn't mind sharing conversations with him until the sun came up the following day over a good bottle of wine. His wrinkles are testaments of experience. YES! YES! YES!Tx Sir Sartorialist
May 24, 2010 at 6:21 am
Certain age does not very often go with being cool & steady & easy at the same time. On the other side of scale there is very often a "stiff" glamour of wearing well done suits…
I LOVE THE WAY HE LOOKS!!!

May 24, 2010 at 11:31 am
white looks so hot in him. and yeah, he seems so relax like he doesn't give a dam* about anything. :P i don't know why, but the scribbled "DIE" on the wall gives me an impression of life after death or something on that concept. don't mind me. haha.
May 24, 2010 at 3:43 pm
i can't even handle how much this man is stunnin'! carefree beautiful style!
May 24, 2010 at 3:55 pm
That all white is hard to pull off, but he looks amazing.
Why is it that Italian men can get away with things that no one else can pull off?
May 24, 2010 at 8:05 pm
Love. Instant and utter.
May 24, 2010 at 8:15 pm

And people wonder why women fall for older men?? This guy has the subtle confidence that one can only acquire with age..
May 26, 2010 at 4:14 am
such timeless simplicity – he probably isn't even wearing underwear – he's that laid-back and confident
May 27, 2010 at 7:04 am

May 27, 2010 at 9:35 am

May 27, 2010 at 9:38 am
in respond to anonimous.."such timeless simplicity – he probably isn't even wearing underwear – he's that laid-back and confident"
i guess he is wearing at least "cod piece" – these pants are too slim to go commandos…
May 27, 2010 at 8:05 pm
I love the crumpled white against the rough stone and brick…with that little blue accent in the pocket…dreamy!
May 28, 2010 at 9:42 am
If I was a man I would want to be this one. Daz Ultra?
May 28, 2010 at 4:42 pm

May 31, 2010 at 5:47 pm
Love that it also says, "die" right behind his head. Kinda like that is what he would say should you tell him how to change who he is. Perfect placement.

i love this! years ago i worked with a guy who lived in west london, worked in central london, & used public transport in between the two – on the days when he wore white he would arrive at work 7.30 (9am start) in order to minimize the possibility of his outfit getting dirty on the way through contact with other people..
June 5, 2010 at 5:25 am
I simply love your pics.. they look amazing and I feel like I am really looking at those men and women…! Ihave to learn from you :)

I just love the ease…the ancient bricks at his back and the white glare, the salt&pepper very nicely shaped beard…funny though that word "DIE…" behind his head – what was the whole word?

I love this. It's….dirty but clean. Relaxed but refined. Also, I love his short socks/sockless-ness. After having my band teacher drill into us the inportance of long, color-correct dress socks, I like the reveal of this. It's emphasizes the relaxation.
