I love the dress and jacket, but what is with the shoes?
July 8, 2008 at 10:15 am
love love love the contrast of blue and orange!
July 8, 2008 at 10:25 am
LOVE. THIS. OUTIFT! Even the shoes add a fun twist.
July 8, 2008 at 10:26 am
not to sound trite, but this is, well, fierce! love!
love the orange dress and the chunky belt. the contrast with blue is a total trend. not so keen on the shoes tho. stilettos in black would have looked better
July 8, 2008 at 10:28 am
wow!!!! the sex and the city look, that orange is flaming hot!!
July 8, 2008 at 10:29 am
I’m loving her style!
July 8, 2008 at 10:30 am
love the orange & blue contrast, definitely eye catching. all on a beautiful woman as well. pity bout those footwear though.
July 8, 2008 at 10:34 am
i feel like someone dared her to wear every “fad” look that is hot this summer all at once.
July 8, 2008 at 10:36 am
sweet. the shoes are a nice take on those ankle boot sandals this season. just sweet shapes and colors all around.
July 8, 2008 at 10:45 am
lovely look, especially with the complementary colours and those margiela boots
July 8, 2008 at 10:46 am
Very Mary-Kate, and she seems to be able to pull off those Margiela open-toe boot things nicely.
July 8, 2008 at 10:49 am
Sorry- I just think it’s unfortunate 80′s. And the shoes…
July 8, 2008 at 10:50 am
Another great shot from you, but the clothes are too trendy to be of interest to me.
July 8, 2008 at 10:51 am
Toes hanging out of the front of the shoes: no no no.
July 8, 2008 at 10:52 am
I love the total look. The shoes are very 2008 and match perfect with the belt. great colors chosen also.
July 8, 2008 at 11:12 am
The Carrie Bradshaw belt
July 8, 2008 at 11:18 am
OMG i love the shoes but she doesn’t wear them well!!!Seen them on Carine Roitfeld and it was so beutifuuuuuuuuuuuuuuul!!!!!
July 8, 2008 at 11:25 am
love the black and white shoes on the left and also the prints on the old lady that matches the colors of the girl. :)
July 8, 2008 at 11:31 am
Her camera is amazine! I have it and love it (if it’s the Leica D-LUX 3/Lumix LX2) . Also, her jewelry is very nice.
I think it’s so passe for whoever/whatever designer to do chunky studded accessories, waaay after the punks did in the ’80s, then again in the late ’90s, then after Burberry last year. It’s too late! How about discovering/pioneering a subculture from the beginning instead of ripping off water downed icons from not even that long ago!
Other than that, Gucci’s kinda cool.
July 8, 2008 at 11:50 am
I like the colors and shapes, but — someone please explain to me the appeal of this season’s ankle-muffler sandal. I’m not necesarily opposed to it, I just don’t get it. It’s one of those fashions that seems to be deliberately ugly and unflattering.
Compare the ankle-muffler with the fashion-forward mini-trend of high-rise jeans, a few months back. High wasited jeans (so widely despised) actually (to my mind) flatter the waist & hips, if not the bottom, of the wearer and (to my way of thinking) are more flattering to most women’s figures than the inevitably muffin-top-inducing low-rise jeans that ruin so many otherwise pretty figures.
I guess, what I’m getting at, is, Aren’t our clothes supposed to be our body’s FRIEND, not its enemy? Don’t we want our garments to flatter our curves and our shoes to flatter our legs? Why would we wear pants that create a belly-bulge? Or shoes that stumpify our legs?
Fashion sometimes mystifies me. Sometimes, though, pictures don’t tell the whole story. Sometimes garments work better on a body in motion. Sometimes just seeing the thing in person helps you to understand its appeal. Is the ankle-muffler supposed to flatter the leg with its contrasting chunkiness? Is it one of those fashions that’s supposed to inspire envy (“She — and only she –can get away with that ugly footwear, because her legs are so insanely beautiful that nothing can ruin them”)? -Victoria

From the waist up, very fun, fresh, and summery. The contrast of orange and electric blue look terrific on this woman.
From the waist down, however, that shape reminds me too much of plastic pants over diapers. A full, short skirt would be more satisfying.
I’m neutral on the shoes. Unusual, but — by itself, “unusual” is never a sufficient reason to add something to my wardrobe.
July 8, 2008 at 11:53 am
She’s working every trend this summer but the orange and blue together lok fabulous on her!
July 8, 2008 at 11:57 am
I love the juxtaposition against the older woman in the background and how the colors play off one another even though their styles are so opposite
July 8, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Too much visibility and contrast for the location, I think. I wouldn’t have a problem with this outfit, say, at the beach or a resort, but in the middle of the city…
July 8, 2008 at 12:10 pm
Talk about a Carrie bradshaw inspired look, but she still manage to make it feel autentic and like she just threw it on.
July 8, 2008 at 12:14 pm
I really like this look. But I have to nit-pick about one thing: Anonymous 10:51 is right. Overhanging toes are soooo not good.
July 8, 2008 at 12:15 pm
Along with lora, I have to say that I’m not feeling this one. Alls I see is a really thin girl wearing a shirt as a dress and complementary colors from a color wheel.
But her makeup and hair looks low maintenance and light enough to offset her bold outfit.
July 8, 2008 at 12:16 pm
I have a variation on these shoes and everyone says they are awesome – even people that never usually notice these things – like my boss (…and I’m a lawyer)
July 8, 2008 at 12:20 pm
Go Gators!…would never think of being so daring with these colors outside the boundaries of a UF sports event but love love love it!
July 8, 2008 at 12:26 pm
Gorgeous girl. The colors and the shoes are fantastic.
July 8, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Fantastic fun style! The contrast of her bright look with the more subdued background works perfectly.
July 8, 2008 at 12:40 pm
i notice she was careful to match all her metals. i like the colors, belt, backpack… but the shoes?
July 8, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Great shot! It looks like the older woman behind her is having a bit of a laugh. “Turisti!”
July 8, 2008 at 12:55 pm
i couldn’t pull off that outfit and maybe she’s wearing every “fad” of this season, but she looks amazing. and that’s including those unfortunate shoes. she’s dressed perfectly for her figure and style.
is she taking a photo of herself? if so, that’s a great sense of humor.
July 8, 2008 at 1:00 pm
She’s gorgeous! Love the orange and blue, but the shoes leave something to be desired.
A la Femme
July 8, 2008 at 1:03 pm
That belt is amazing and those Martin Margiela shoes are still at the top of my want list. They look amazing on her!!!!
July 8, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Yea, the studded belt is a little done, though cinching at the waist is never a bad thing.I HATE those shoes. They’re like open toe boots. Sleeveless sweaters. WHY?Pretty girl. Contrasting colors.
July 8, 2008 at 1:21 pm
yes god Carrie wore that in EVERY SINGLE SCENE OF THE MOVIE
July 8, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Love the colors and the shoes are fantastic !!
July 8, 2008 at 1:44 pm
Ricoh Caplio camera :P
July 8, 2008 at 1:46 pm
I have to agree with jen, this looks like a mishmash of fad looks. I don’t really like studs like the ones on the belt, they are just everywhere and beginning to look a little tacky.
July 8, 2008 at 1:47 pm
(sorry. as wife of a Floridian, that’s all I can think of with this color combo.)
July 8, 2008 at 1:59 pm
It’s like an adult version of a little girls’ superhero get-up.
And am I the only one who’s seeing how gorgeous this girl is?

July 8, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Wonderful photo, Sart. I love everything about this Asian hottie, except those shoes. Unfortunate choice.
July 8, 2008 at 2:09 pm
Yeah they’re Margiela boots. Hard to find, i’ve been searching them for ages!
July 8, 2008 at 2:34 pm
I love the racial diversity in this blog! You wouldn’t expect to see so many pictures of fashionable Asians walking around in the streets of Europe, but here you go.
July 8, 2008 at 2:42 pm
But that in itself is the joy of of being young; being able to wear trends even if it is for a short time. You’re supposed to have fun with your youth and the mash-up here screams “IT Girl” and not, “Rich Asian Tourist” as is the usual in Milan.
July 8, 2008 at 2:44 pm
And also, did anyone notice the necklace and finger hardware? How fun right?
July 8, 2008 at 2:51 pm
The little lady behind her is wearing a blouse with blue and orange flowers! Same colors in different contexts….Cool!
July 8, 2008 at 2:59 pm
Gloria I agree with you .. soon as I saw the belt (but also a bit all over the look) I thought to Carrie fabulous!
PS:sorry for my imperfect English but I am Italian
July 9, 2008 at 12:15 pm
i like how she seems to have a packback on..u dont see women with that kind of bag often..looks cool, made me wanna get 1 as well
July 9, 2008 at 12:24 pm
to style noir: I totally agree with you on this one. she is just so gorgeous. I absolutely LOVE this look. So what if it’s costumey and trendy? Since when is looking fashionable a crime? Obviously she has loads of cash, and this is probably what I’d wear if I had that much moeny and were in a playful mood (ok, probably not to go sight-seeing, but I’d still wear it). to constants: actually asian women are usually the most fashionable here in europe… i live in Berlin and the asian women always stand out from the crowd. I love their attitude and their playful approach towards fashion. Plus, they’re usually drop dead gorgeous and uber-cool. I truly envy them.
July 9, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Wonder woman came to mind !
July 9, 2008 at 12:49 pm
I read alot of comments that mentions that her outfit is so “Carrie Bradshaw” or she knocked off Carrie Bradshaw or she is wearing every trend of the season. I think most have forgotten that designers get their inspiration (yes even Patricia Field) from the streets and everyday people like this young lady. The so-called Carrie belt from the movie has been around for ages… just because someone is wearing it doesn’t mean that they’re just trying to copy Carrie’s look…for all we know, it may be the other way around.
Anyway, just my two-cents… I happen to think she looks fierce!
July 9, 2008 at 2:24 pm
OH MY GOD!!!
i love it!!!
July 9, 2008 at 5:46 pm
It looks like an orange version of Sarah Jessica Parker’s outfit in the SATC movie when she’s in the DVF store.
July 9, 2008 at 8:12 pm
i am just speechles! great combination of colors and styles…love absolytely everything about this look: from nailpolish to the belt!
July 9, 2008 at 8:40 pm
I really can’t stop myself from going back to this picture! What I missed earlier and find most intriguing is just how young she is. She could possibly still be in her late teens or early 20′s and it’s amazing how you can feel the confidence oozing off of the page. Mad props!
July 9, 2008 at 9:01 pm
It would be hard to make her look anything but beautiful, but I’m not sure this is style. You’re just a leg man, admit it.
July 10, 2008 at 12:07 am
First of all, Carrie Bradshaw’s taste is way too conservative to be wearing Martin Margiela shoes since she’s into Blahnik. Apples and oranges! This girl is not only pretty but also she’s got style to be wearing a bubble dress and FAB shoes! Carrie Bradshaw she is NOT! Major EWWW on CB anyways!

July 10, 2008 at 12:21 am
I love women that are unafraid. I adore the shoes and those toes! Perfect.
July 10, 2008 at 3:22 am
Ah, the beautiful colors of the Mets!!!
July 10, 2008 at 3:57 am
personally don’t love every item she wears but the combination she put together is beautiful! so much youthful awesome energy!
and yes thank you for defending asian women- there are plenty that are stylish and gorgeous
July 10, 2008 at 8:55 am
This is phenomenal. Would love to raid her closet!! ♥
July 10, 2008 at 9:30 am
I love, love, love the shoes. I have to have them!!
July 10, 2008 at 1:30 pm
I love everything EXCEPT for the shoes, I truly hate them. Plus I don’t think they go with the outfit. Yuck.
July 10, 2008 at 3:29 pm
sooo sex… and the city… luv it!
July 10, 2008 at 3:31 pm
ORANGE…BLUE! hahaShe pulls off the bright colors well.
July 10, 2008 at 6:59 pm
awful shoes.. everything else totally perfect!
July 10, 2008 at 9:25 pm
this isn’t my kind of look, but you always manage to catch something else besides the subject’s attire. this time its the backround woman’s orange & blue floral top next to the blue jacket and orange dress. very nice coupling.
July 10, 2008 at 11:27 pm
She is lovely and in a fairly abstract, context-free picture, her outfit is very striking.
However, if I saw this in real life, I would think- oh how hideous! Especially the shoes.
July 11, 2008 at 11:45 am
I LOVED this outfit. Only someone really secure has the courage to mix those pieces and see what happens. The result is simply BRILLIANT.
July 11, 2008 at 5:39 pm
even though it does look like a mishmash of trends, she makes it her own somehow. i dunno how, but she does.
July 12, 2008 at 1:28 am
I, too, love the Margiela shoes…I especially loved them in the nude color. She’s young and fresh in the orange and blue. And to all the UF Gator fans who commented, I simply say War Eagle! They’ll all understand.
July 12, 2008 at 2:02 am
She’s gorgeous and takes risks.I love the orange. It seems to me that she’s changed the dynamics of the outfit to something more modern by adding the contrasting chunky belt and those shoes. Not sure what it means, except she’s not afraid to mix it up, down to her backpack.
Very SATC! Love contrast of orange and blue. The belt is sick! Shoes are awesome! Not crazy about the backpack but it works for her.
July 12, 2008 at 5:19 am
Damned it, I should get those Margiela shoes when it hit Barney’s the first time. I was hoping they gonna be on sale the beige one!!! BUMMER!!! They sold out everywhere. I’m dying to get half shoes half boots look this season, so HOT!!! I’ve seen a lot of this kind of shoes/sandals in Brasil as well. I don’t really care about her outfits, but I think the contrast colors are really catching in the photo. Great summer look. I think she looks hot.
Is that camera really great compared to Canon?
July 12, 2008 at 6:04 pm
Those Belts are a huge “Sex and the City” “the movie” trend!
July 14, 2008 at 1:01 am
Love the colors and the shapes. Its all gorgeous.
July 14, 2008 at 12:15 pm
what a wonderful outfit!
July 15, 2008 at 5:31 am
hate the shoes and the belt, not really sold on the rest either, but she has fantastic legs and is beautiful, so it kind of works. not on everyone!
July 15, 2008 at 5:34 am
also, i think its really cute that she’s wearing a backpack. without the jacket though, she would look like she was headed to a club.
July 15, 2008 at 10:33 am
I went to China eralier this year and EVERYBODY (girls, that is) wears those kind of shoes!
Flats, heels or platforms.
I love them, the soft slouchy leather around the ankles.
Unfortunately, my Scandinavian Viking-feet were too big in China (you should see how the girls in the shops giggled, pointed and talked about my size 40) so I ended up buying different styles and colours for my daughter instead!
July 16, 2008 at 5:35 pm
y’all should stop hatin’ on the shoes!they go perfectly with the outfit!i can’t imagine flats….
July 17, 2008 at 6:04 pm
I love the pasticheful mix of brights! Tangerine and blue are total opposites but look so well worn together! The black accesories harmonize well.
July 21, 2008 at 8:29 am
Amazing clashing of colours, i think it definitely works. The shoes are hot too!
July 22, 2008 at 4:40 pm
great use of complementary colors but im not about the shoes
Little Miss Dress Up
July 28, 2008 at 6:58 am
i’m so in love with those shoes!!!!!!
September 10, 2008 at 7:18 am
simply eye catching!
September 28, 2008 at 8:01 am
Love it. I hated this style of shoe until I saw this outfit. The best part, however, is her knuckleduster!
Nidya R. Wiguno
October 12, 2008 at 5:27 am
nice. really nice. the colors are simply match!
October 16, 2008 at 12:03 am
love that blue n orange!
January 31, 2009 at 7:15 am
She is perfect! very colourful and playful. the orange dress match her hair colour very much. and the shoes echoes her belt!
April 18, 2009 at 4:30 am
completely unexpected; beautiful from head to toe as if the Great Patricia Field styled her.
August 13, 2011 at 11:36 pm
I love shoes like that. Most typical non wedge heels look frumpy and trashy at the same time, so they need a twist.
January 19, 2012 at 8:40 pm
I love the old rady’s shirt too!!!♥
