Now that’s the way to tie a scarf!
October 20, 2008 at 7:36 am
Love the contrast of the cardigan’s volume and the skinny body – everything looks right. Very tough to duplicate if you’re not skinny though!
October 20, 2008 at 7:46 am
I love librarty style on any man young or old who can pull it off. He does.
October 20, 2008 at 8:17 am
I have a cardigan almost identical to that, but I’ll be damned if it looks that good on me. I love the scarf. I like the color of the shoes, too, but I don’t really know how I feel about the shape. Are they moccasins or just folded-down, suede boots?

October 20, 2008 at 8:43 am
It would have looked sloppy, if it were not for the scarf that says “this is all deliberate”.

October 20, 2008 at 8:58 am
That guy has some amazing hair.
October 20, 2008 at 9:14 am
Love the moccasins!
October 20, 2008 at 9:19 am
The very few times that an oversized cardigan looked absolutely wonderful…
October 20, 2008 at 9:26 am
Straight out of an APC catalogue
October 20, 2008 at 9:40 am
he looks fantastic. big sweater over straight pant. love the moccasins and the scarf to finish it off. reminds me i need to get my moccasins out and wear those babies. got them years ago as house shoes on a reservation in arizona. glad they are in now. but, the trick is pulling them off like this guy has.
October 20, 2008 at 10:11 am
WOW – This guy totally nailed the look. Perfect length on the cardigan! Love the way the scarf is tied!
October 20, 2008 at 10:12 am
i love how the buttons or fastenings or whatever they may be are invisible on the shirt… and it seems that the cardigan was actually made for someone his size– the sleeves fit!
October 20, 2008 at 10:23 am
Hello Scott, do you know anwhere in nyc where I could get my suits/jackets altered to fit? -thansk.

The scarf, the cardigan, and oh that hair!
He looks like an interesting person.
October 20, 2008 at 10:51 am
it’s the hair that does it and the moccassins too
makes you want him in your circle of friends

Smashing combinations- love the clothes, the hair and the photograph. Every item here is pretty crucial to the look but I particularly like the scarf- the effect of the scarf. Nicely done.
October 20, 2008 at 10:54 am
very nice cardigan!i would wear it too)
October 20, 2008 at 11:02 am
Yes. He’s just too perfect. Love the scarf. Love the shoes.
October 20, 2008 at 11:14 am
Are you going to run anything about Mr Blackwell?
October 20, 2008 at 11:15 am
Love the shoes, don’t think the cardigan is very flattering though.
October 20, 2008 at 11:33 am
love it – looks comfortable and he looks confident
October 20, 2008 at 11:48 am
Love this oversized cardi – but only on him (tall, slim and a bit of Orlando Bloom, but blonder) If my husband had such a cardigan, I would wear this in the evening, on the couch, warm comfy and with a little bit of sexiness underneath…:-p
October 20, 2008 at 11:49 am
Great style! I love those shoes- any idea who makes them or where I can find similar?
October 20, 2008 at 11:55 am
Does anyone recognize the brand/make of the shoes?
October 20, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Close, but no cigar. Love the shoes though.
October 20, 2008 at 12:10 pm
I love the shoes, which appear to be some sort of mocs, and the hair, and the scarf. However, I think this look has two problems:
1) A Cardigan over a jacket?! I think this would be equally striking, if not more so, with something more appropriate such as a well fitted button down.
2) To truly play the cartoonish size of the cardigan off the skinny frame that everyone keeps mentioning, the pants should be slightly more fitted.
October 20, 2008 at 12:14 pm
i love his hair!
October 20, 2008 at 12:34 pm
V nice bomber and cardigan collar
October 20, 2008 at 12:42 pm
GREAT look! I love the contrast in volumes and the jacket worn under the sweater.
October 20, 2008 at 12:46 pm
love the ‘earthy’ colours…
October 20, 2008 at 12:56 pm
This shot is refreshingly non-fashiony. I love the cardigan!
October 20, 2008 at 1:11 pm
The tortoise shape cardigan of the cardigan with beautiful buttons is lovely. I don’t know how I feel about the shirt, but the scarf, shoes, and jeans are quite nice.
October 20, 2008 at 1:25 pm
Christopher… he reminds me of you!

i think this guy was on an episode of queer eye . . .

Somehow this look works overall, even though the individual pieces aren’t amazing. It’s interesthing how he’s put the over-sized cardigan over what looks like a grey, light bomber jacket..
October 20, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Everything looks great, but the cardigan looks just a bit off.
October 20, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Excellent package all the way around! The scarf is the bomb! And the dude’s hair adds great verticality.
October 20, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Oh dear, I’m afraid the cardigan is haram. It hangs in just-been-washed, formless way. Without his structured hair and well-tied scarf, he would look sloppy. I must say, I do love the gold buttons though.
October 20, 2008 at 2:37 pm
Hip, comfortable and stylish. I love the scarf and his hair too.
October 20, 2008 at 2:46 pm
LOVE it. Absolutely wonderful, He looks like he walked straight out of a fairytale.
October 20, 2008 at 3:04 pm
I love the shoes, with the belt, and the golden buttons. They all go together so well
i’ve been dying to buy myself a cardigan. and i’d want to get the same style grandfather-size as well. i love his hairdo as well!

I like his mix of sweaters the shall collar cardigan gives him a really comfortable look.
October 20, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Are those shoes suede?
October 20, 2008 at 3:48 pm
He looks like someone I would love to cozy up to. I would fit nicely in that sweater with him!
October 20, 2008 at 3:51 pm
The gold buttons on the cardigan make all the difference.
October 20, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Looks great. Anyone got any ideas where to get a similar grey top?
October 20, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Defining the waist under the long cardigan keeps the proportion right. The French have an innate sense of style.
October 20, 2008 at 4:10 pm
love the colors!!
October 20, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Sart: we all know you dodn’t care a lick about the sweater. It’s the scarf isn’t it?
October 20, 2008 at 4:39 pm
That’s the original “grandfather jacket”, and it’s the rigth way to wear it
October 20, 2008 at 4:48 pm
What makes this photograph pleasant is its sense of scale – on every level. ; )

October 21, 2008 at 10:28 am
He is the designer for Paul Smith.
October 21, 2008 at 12:20 pm
looooveee his hair! and he made this cardi look really good. this is a perfect example of a person wearing the cloth and not the cloth wearing the person.
October 21, 2008 at 6:02 pm
I knew Dan in Richmond would like it!
