i love the casualness of this outfit and the darkness you captured in the photograph. its nice to see fashion being captured outside of NYC, Paris and Milan
Love her style.. so comfortable. haven't seeing you photographing in this certain of lights before.. but i love it.. changes are good Lee x http://leeoliveira.com
These photos from Savannah remind me so much of street style here in New Orleans, but I think the New Orleanians have a little something more…. People here are so much bolder in their fashion choices and there is such a range of distinctive tastes represented, all within the context of the gulf, the city, the eclectic neighborhoods.
What I'm saying is that you should come down and check it out!
Don't you just love Savannah? Don't answer that – I can tell you do from your photos! Did you get over to Broughton Street? It's like a walk back in time. These SCAD kids have killer style.
What a charming sidewalk…had no idea that cities in the U.S. still had these….we have some brick streets here in the Chicago area, but no sidewalks quite this old.
The smartphone gesture and the backdrop gives the composition a painterly quality. It would even work as a charcoal drawing; guache, pastel for that matter. Of course, it more than holds its own as a photograph.
I love to see what everyone is wearing outside of the "usual" places… she seems so carefree. The Chucks say teen or college student to me. Ah, to be young again! I love the lighting of this shot! kim fortyovertwenty.blogspot.com
There is something haunting about the setting here– The concave sidewalk, the greying building, the dark green growth creeping over the fence. And she seems like she grew up to become a part of it. I wish I could carry off looking so natural in… well, anything!
These Savannah girls love their long dresses with tennis shoes. Is this the new look of summer? Absolutely LOVE the hat and bag – would love to see it on her too.
Thanks for sharing this! Heather retaildesigndiva.blogs.com
I love the posts you do on smaller cities in the US. They have an authenticity and character, and I feel in New York or London people are dress up in a city because of the city they live in, while the people in Savannah have more of a character showing from within. H Al Moda
Savannah is a beautiful old city with brick and cobblestone streets and city square parks shaded by oak trees draped in Spanish moss. It's beautiful, mysterious, and yes! rather haunted. It is also blazing hot at this time of year. Tybee Island is a short distance from downtown's waterfront. So you can see that her outfit makes complete sense. Savannah is a walkable city and when it's this hot, all you can think about is a beach breeze.

I love the Savannah style you have been posting! It's so relaxed and natural feeling. Makes me want to head south. In some places fashion can seem like a competition but these pictures don't have that feel to them. Great job. I hope to see more new locations in the future!
I love this photograph so much – it captures such a peaceful moment. She's so deep in contemplation, and I love the way her hair is blowing ever so slightly in the wind. The concave pavement adds a nice surreal touch. Beautiful.
I like this. She is wearing her bathing suit under sweatpants, and the hat is too hot to wear. The sun has dived below clouds for an instant, and she's tired of the beach. She's slung her towel, sunscreen, etc. into her burlap bag and is heading home. It has a weary feeling to this photo, perfectly capturing the mood.
Wonderful photo with a painterly feel–her expression, her stance & willowy lines, the quality of the light all combine to create a haunting image.
I'm guessing she's a dancer…? In that spirit, I'd rock those pants tribal fusion style–a bit lower on the hip & wrapped with a tatty hip scarf (to hide the unfortunate waistband).
It enchants me, all the comments about this "southern girl" and her inner sense of place. Dollars to donuts she's a SCAD student, and if she is then she's probably not from Savannah. Photos tell the story we want them to, not necessarily the truth.
she's beautiful and the simplicity with the details makes her style perfect. and the photograph. well, one of the bests that you've been posting lately!
Love the pants(or is it a skirt?). The slit and the waistband are great. Just to say though; She is definitely not going anywhere near the beach on that day. First of all, that top is not a swim suit, you can tell by the lack of structure on the top, second no one would wear that hat to the beach. It would get ruined pretty fast. Third no one goes to the beach with a full bag of stuff. She is a student on a warm day. Thats it. Her outfit is very put together, even if it is simple, especially the bag and hat(which are not simple).

I like it but the only thing that bothers me is that she only looks good in that outfit because she is so tall and skinny.
If she were any bigger, she would look like a slob (apart from the hat).
Some people look good no matter what they throw on, but that doesn't necessarily mean what they wear is stylish…
