It's a beautiful dress, instantly elegant.
March 21, 2011 at 8:17 am
Love the whole style of the first lady. Tough hair and glasses, super cozy and roomy knitted pullover and then the delicate skirt. Just love it.

March 21, 2011 at 8:41 am
Love the contrast between the gentle pale maxi skirts and the more tough upper part.
March 21, 2011 at 8:42 am
These skirts were everywhere during the various fashion weeks. Wonder if hers is Rag and Bone. In any event, they make for beautiful photos.
She looks so comfortable.
I love that first shot, the colours and everything. Gorgeous.
March 21, 2011 at 8:43 am

April 3, 2011 at 6:16 pm
Just bought one from the local thrift store! Brand new! From Barney's!!!!!$2.50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 3, 2011 at 6:20 pm
White dresses are in vogue today in both your posts. Is that Garance in the top photo? She looks lovely on that country road, pretty surroundings

i was actually thinking about this image the other day- and when i go shopping i'm definitely gonna pick one up!
April 3, 2011 at 6:55 pm
I'm not usually a skirt wearing female, but these skirts make me want to run out and buy one to wear. I have a feeling when one puts it on dancing has to happen!
April 3, 2011 at 7:11 pm
these shots are beautiful! These skirts are perfect for Spring time in San Francisco. soooo goooood.
April 3, 2011 at 7:13 pm
What a perfect choice for Spring. Looks amazing!

April 3, 2011 at 7:51 pm
Absolutely love the fullness and fluidity of the white skirts. Pairing it with the sweater is such a great idea!
April 3, 2011 at 8:23 pm
April 3, 2011 at 8:33 pm
i'm really loving this look. you've given me some ideas on how to wear my long flowy skirt which has been sitting in my wardrobe unworn.
April 3, 2011 at 8:46 pm
Love the fabric, sheer skirts, but not see through.
April 3, 2011 at 8:55 pm
Love those long flowy skirts. Am I the only one worried about the hem getting filthy in New York?
April 3, 2011 at 9:17 pm
LOVE that first image. The treeline really accentuates the length and lines of her skirt.
Perhaps you should buy Garance a long pale skirt, Scott, these are beautiful! I believe she wrote that you didn't like the look.
April 3, 2011 at 9:23 pm
The divine shot, is created by the nature!!!))
April 3, 2011 at 9:25 pm
mmmm …scrumptious.so feminine & so comfortably down~to~earth & edgy all at once
April 3, 2011 at 9:28 pm
They look great, but you have to be REALLLYYYY skinny
April 3, 2011 at 9:59 pm
April 3, 2011 at 10:57 pm
For me, it is her curls in the first pic that brings it all together.
April 3, 2011 at 11:08 pm
And for those following the mohair sweater trend – freezing it helps bring back its fluff!
April 3, 2011 at 11:10 pm
Such a delightful surprise and so appropriate as the daffodils are in bloom. I think the zipper on skirt 2, needs to be fixed. It breaks the fluidity…
April 3, 2011 at 11:39 pm
Reminiscent of goddesses…..timeless grace, elegance, as delicately colored and textured as if from nature. If there was more of this gentleness and sensitivity to inspire people in the hard cold cities, would the world be a better place? I tend to think so…….
April 3, 2011 at 11:43 pm
gorgeous! maxi skrits are EVERYWHERE this season!
April 4, 2011 at 12:51 am
Romantic! long silhouette of bias skirt has been aways my favorite. Finally good bye to mini skirt!
April 4, 2011 at 12:53 am
Oh that first photo is a dream come true. I'm guessing it's Garance.. :)
April 4, 2011 at 1:21 am
They both look gorgeous and effortless, stylish and unpretentious. So glad long skirts are back! Yippee!!
April 4, 2011 at 2:28 am
2 words on the first one, Michael Jackson
April 4, 2011 at 3:11 am
It is a lovely look for the tall and lean. Long white skirts create a proportion issue that is critical…go ahead…try to imitate this look. NOT so easy as it looks…kind of like leggings..either it is perfect or you are a victim…
April 4, 2011 at 3:30 am
What a magnificient photo. You can see the silhouette of a dancer who would delight us with an arabesque in any moment. I love it.
April 4, 2011 at 3:40 am
this maxi skirt is wonderful and creates awesome effects! Great pics! <3
April 4, 2011 at 3:57 am
The second photo is amazing. So gorgeous with a shearling jacket!xo

I Love her style!
April 4, 2011 at 6:16 am
April 4, 2011 at 6:27 am
it's a romantic look, and i like the first photo and outfit – she was meant to be photographed on that particular spot – but these sunglasses on her remind me disturbingly of michael jackson (as he would have liked to be, presumably).
April 4, 2011 at 7:49 am
Ahh, so pretty. I love these skirts in white, rather than rather predicable black. They look so fresh!
April 4, 2011 at 8:29 am
April 4, 2011 at 8:35 am
Oh this first photo is so beautiful I wish I took it :))
April 4, 2011 at 9:09 am
first shot is amazing
April 4, 2011 at 9:30 am
Oh… I love the light skirt with the chunky sweater. I would expect jewels and soft metal pieces with the outfit but somehow the rough sunglasses work. I wish I could pull that off. :(((
April 4, 2011 at 9:32 am
Fabulous dress, elegant
April 4, 2011 at 10:01 am
April 4, 2011 at 10:07 am
Have you noticed that in almost all the recessions in historty woman's skirts have becomed longer?
April 4, 2011 at 10:09 am
Amazing skirt with pretty sweater can me more lovely that i think!
Best of Beehive
April 4, 2011 at 10:12 am

proletarian Great Gatsby
April 4, 2011 at 11:12 am
I love the second photo. Fortuny revisited.Uhmmm!
April 4, 2011 at 11:17 am
The skirt I can live without, but that gorgeous sweater in the top photo I definitely covet.
April 4, 2011 at 11:20 am
that gorgeous grey angora sweater..isn't that a stella mccartney?the first photo is just framed so beautifully, the grey of the sweater between the grey of the trees..the white skirt highlighted against a white road..silver shadows contrasting with silver shoes..cool( greys/silvers/whites) and ethereal.
April 4, 2011 at 11:56 am
The first photo is just perfect!
April 4, 2011 at 12:09 pm
a pleated maxi skirt – on my must ahve list for spring!!
April 4, 2011 at 1:50 pm
I think the woman in the first photo shows how amazing this look can be. The soft textures are wonderful. I also like the look in the second photo but the first one is my favorite. I prefer the look in these two photo's over the first one of the girl in Milan.
April 4, 2011 at 1:53 pm
Much too pretty and floaty and diaphanous for the city, in my opinion – I can't help thinking about dust and dirt, it's wrecking my head!!
April 4, 2011 at 2:06 pm
I'm loving the maxi skirt the more I see it. I especially adore the ones that seem to float and billow in the wind.
April 4, 2011 at 2:09 pm
Fuzzy sweater and a long sheer skirt – a truly classic combination
zeste de citron
April 4, 2011 at 2:23 pm

mohair and silk chiffon, the perfect juxtaposition, Jx
April 4, 2011 at 3:28 pm
I love this look, diaphanous and ethereal.
April 4, 2011 at 3:32 pm
IS THIS IT? models review
April 4, 2011 at 3:37 pm
Fabulous, I like long skirts a lot – this way especially.
April 4, 2011 at 3:56 pm
Those skirts are beyond ethereal. This is my favorite new feminine touch of the season — they put a woman's body on a pedestal, outlining & hinting without overpowering or upstaging. Beautiful.
April 4, 2011 at 4:24 pm
No matter how other street photographers try, i dont see in their photographs what i see in yours almost always, Authenticity. You capture the person’s spirit, personality, feel and dare i say it – love. a bit deep for a tuesday morning here in New Zealand, but… its true. Love Love Love “The Sartorialist” Peace.
April 4, 2011 at 4:25 pm
Very dreamy skirts. I really want a pleated skirt – maybe a short one, though.
April 4, 2011 at 5:07 pm
Beautiful skirt. really fashionable.
April 4, 2011 at 5:45 pm
This looks like my wedding gown. It just hurts to see it 'wipe' the sidewalk! :) beautiful anyway, and ingeniously paired with the jacket!
April 4, 2011 at 6:02 pm
Is this a trend?
April 4, 2011 at 7:53 pm
Loving the angora/mohair against the skirt and the shearling jacket is a great juxtaposition.

I love the first picture. The textures are great together. Cashmere and Chiffon- so beautiful and feminine!
April 4, 2011 at 10:35 pm
perfect skirt :)
April 4, 2011 at 10:55 pm
beautiful combination for those not quite warm/not quiet cold spring days. it looks so elegant and easy.
April 5, 2011 at 3:13 am
Hi,I am obsessing over the first picture… the sweater is amazing! Does anyone have any idea who it is by or if you have seen anything similar? Thanks
April 5, 2011 at 4:26 am
Whats going on on this second skirt? Looks like it was sewn poorly at the seam where the zipper is, no?
April 5, 2011 at 9:32 am
Hello – and thank you! This photo looked so good even small on the screen when you took it – and now after a little while it looks even better.
For those who like the jumper: hey yes! There is a lot in it to like. It's a great Russian young talent who has just created his little brand: Forget-me-not.http://forgetmenotblog.tumblr.com/
These jumpers are seriously the best.
Have a nice week!Alex

oooowahhhh I am just thinking about dirty hems. Lovely lovely skirt. but I would get one in darker hue. I would flip if I get my skirt stained from dirty pavements.

Love seeing curly hair here, which incidentally adds to the textures.
May 26, 2012 at 10:44 pm
I especially like the first. I like the contrast of her dark hair and sunglasses with her light sweater and skirt–the top grounds the bottom. The skirt looks so delicate, almost ethereal. The sweater adds visual, as well as physical, warmth.
July 3, 2013 at 7:25 pm
my lady has a skirt like that long white one looks really nice on her but as she is little theres alot of it which int a bad thing but it keep getting caught in the car door when shes getting in my car and we not knowing theres loads of it hanging out some times for a long time as well
