wow what an amazing collection!!!!
March 8, 2011 at 3:43 pm
Hermès est la monde.
simply beautiful. the fifth look/photo (with the geometric prints) must have been inspired by sonia delaunay. wonder if they know about the upcoming exhibition of sonia delaunay's fashions at the cooper-hewitt national design museum in nyc?
March 8, 2011 at 3:45 pm
Wow, if girls were walking down the street with bows I would be scared! this reminds me kind of like star wars. Awesome and exquisite collection.
March 8, 2011 at 3:46 pm
Mixture of Modern/Classic…
Wow, so elegant…
Kiss from Spain!
I especially like the smock dress with the pockets.
Soooo class & beautiful….Lemaire was wonderful ;D
March 8, 2011 at 3:47 pm
So nice to see a collection which is this varied without deviating from a theme. I love the bow and arrows! Really creative!x
March 8, 2011 at 3:55 pm
Is it acceptable to mention a John-Mollo-in-1977 connection?
March 8, 2011 at 3:58 pm
this is such an exciting, dynamic collection, structures, shapes, colors, accessories, styling, everything. wish i could have seen it from the front row.
street number eight
March 8, 2011 at 4:00 pm
i just finished blogging about this collection, so exquisite! I call it "fashion nomad"– it channels that old 20s-30s orientalist excursion chic. Imagine a gutsy screen siren traipsing through a Moroccan bazaar.
My post will be up later today, take a look. I only wish I could steal Scott's pics–they are divine and make the clothes look that much better!
March 8, 2011 at 4:01 pm
Ohh The show was in the new store hermès rue de sèvres, I love it! The collection is beautiful as you said.
March 8, 2011 at 4:04 pm
You tweeted right, this Hermes collection is fantastic. The styles and colors are must-haves.
WOOW!! seriously..? each and every look is fantastic! I love the colors!
March 8, 2011 at 4:07 pm
All of the colors are so rich!
March 8, 2011 at 4:10 pm
oh, wow! the air of exoticism, 20s-style cocoon coats, geometrics, etc. LOVE
March 8, 2011 at 4:11 pm
hope one day can see it alive!!
March 8, 2011 at 4:12 pm
That first picture took my breath away! Divine collection!
March 8, 2011 at 4:14 pm
I think the new designer has been able to interpretet the essence od Hermés.
March 8, 2011 at 4:17 pm
March 8, 2011 at 4:21 pm

Exquisite!! Channeling Iris Apfel with the super-sized accessories. Must have been really exciting to see these in person.
March 8, 2011 at 4:28 pm
YES Star Wars AND Superman. Fashion's first terence-stamp inspired collection: cf #6 = Zod from Superman 2 (terence stamp ftw)
It all looks awesome!
Star Warsall red #3 = imperial guard
all turquoise #2 = max rebo from jabba's band (keyboard player, floppy ears)
#4 & #8 = leia on endor = hot!
March 8, 2011 at 4:29 pm
love the colors, the leathers, and especially the head-gear….good for protecting one's face from the elements!
March 8, 2011 at 4:38 pm
hermes is beyond cool as usual. i love it.

March 8, 2011 at 4:54 pm
amazing. these looks feel both timeless and cutting edge. i especially like that first shot.
March 8, 2011 at 5:01 pm
wonderful, for me the best so far – along with dries van noten. very good.
March 8, 2011 at 5:02 pm
This collection is as beautiful as one would expect from Hermes. For me, however, the most gorgeous and wearable collection is clearly Chanel.
March 8, 2011 at 5:03 pm
Very cool! The bow and arrow held by the model in the last pic. is amazing!
March 8, 2011 at 5:20 pm
I'm so glad to see that this went well. I've been such a fan of Lemaire. I loved what he did at Lacoste, so seeing this makes me so happy to see his style transition so well to Hermes.

I love the red dress. It looks like a cloak. These pieces have such a exciting take on tribal inspiration. My Heart Blogged

Great innovation here. Love it all.

I'm pretty sure I saw this on Star Wars
March 8, 2011 at 6:32 pm
ROBIN HOOD, MUCH????
March 8, 2011 at 6:35 pm
Love this collection– the colors are gorgeous! The hats with visors and chinstraps recall for me the Indonesian jilbab style of head scarf. Actually, all these looks have loose, flowing pieces that I could see on wealthy women who cover. After Ungaro, etc. it's great to see a collection that covers things up a little more.
March 8, 2011 at 6:41 pm
i'm loving the blast from the past inspiration in this collection. Very subdued glamor
March 8, 2011 at 7:02 pm
The leather tunic is a fabulous look and the large silver cuffs really set it off. Beautiful shot. See great silver cuffs at gugubeach.com

March 8, 2011 at 8:18 pm
at first glance the model in the first photo looks like a mannequin. beautiful.

March 8, 2011 at 8:46 pm
I am not sure why some people were surprised when Lemaire was announced as Gaultier's successor at the helm of Hermès. His talent is undoubted. He turned Lacoste around. He has established a great brand for himself.
That his first collection is a resounding success is everything but a surprise!
March 8, 2011 at 8:52 pm
I really don't like this. It just looks rough and uncomfortable…stuffy…just my taste…it is interesting design tho.
March 8, 2011 at 8:55 pm
SCRUMPTIOUS. The textures, the colors, and omg the ACCESSORIES! Crazy cool.
March 8, 2011 at 9:12 pm
WOW…LOVE IT <3
March 8, 2011 at 9:16 pm
I can totally see the essence of Hermes in this collection. Lovely!
March 8, 2011 at 9:25 pm
Is that a sporran around the model's neck in the first photo?

March 8, 2011 at 9:57 pm
Great colors; elegantly cut clothes.
i can't say i really like his designs in colors, but for black and neutrals he'd totally done things wellthe last pic is just awesomea modern-day lady robinhood… great idea !
March 8, 2011 at 9:58 pm
Like it. Made me think of the sci-fi film "Blade Runner"
March 8, 2011 at 10:07 pm
I am loving this. I really wish this site had a like button. Some things you just have to share.
March 8, 2011 at 10:08 pm
Such a stunning collection. The epitome of Parisian style from a house with a true pedigree. Let's hope Hermes can hold out against the forces of LVMH!Anna Z.
March 8, 2011 at 10:19 pm
love this! its taking from so many eras an making it work! what fashion is meant to be
March 8, 2011 at 10:21 pm
Spectacular collection by Lemaire! The colors, the textures, the silouettes…magnificent! The workmanship on the leather is what makes Hermes, Hermes. Of course, your photos captured all this so succinctly.
March 8, 2011 at 10:44 pm
Fashion can be fun and chic; someone pass those Jedi Knight ladies their light sabers!
one of the ugliest collections i've ever seen

BLUUUUUUUEEEEEEEE <3 <3 <3
March 9, 2011 at 3:57 am
incredible collection and wonderful pics!
March 9, 2011 at 4:11 am
I love the feeling of an Antoine de Saint-Exupéry character landing in an other-worldly desert. Hermès owns that aesthetic, and Lemaire has turned it up a notch.
March 9, 2011 at 4:20 am
Very Art Déco.
March 9, 2011 at 4:21 am
This sounds wierd, I know, but I love all the hoods! They seem mysterious and romantic to me…Also the neat hats and the first jacket…
March 9, 2011 at 4:59 am
the last one is the best.
March 9, 2011 at 5:09 am
Might be just the red lipstick, but the first pictures remind me of Tamara de Lempicka's art.
March 9, 2011 at 6:04 am
How fun is this? I can certainly see a certain amount of steampunk and cyberpunk influence. They've pulled out of the Victorian era, though.
March 9, 2011 at 6:21 am
I love the boots on last pic! Amaizing!
March 9, 2011 at 7:01 am
The art of travel by Hermès. Amazing collection. I LOve leather
March 9, 2011 at 7:06 am
Still like Haider Ackermann the best…
March 9, 2011 at 7:58 am
So polished, beautiful, and mysterious!
March 9, 2011 at 8:00 am
Personnally I think it's a good start for Lemaire. But the collection is not to best. Too 80's, too gimmicky. But there are some great items and we should give Lemaire time to develop his own style within Hermes….
March 9, 2011 at 8:18 am
This is the most wearable collection for the average woman that you've posted in some time. I think that I'll buy some of those pieces for my wife.
March 9, 2011 at 8:21 am
March 9, 2011 at 8:39 am
I prefered what Jean Paul Gaultier did for Hermès by far. Not only was it luxurious and beautiful, it had a touch of fantasy and playfulness that was truly the Hermès spirit and made the collections special.
March 9, 2011 at 8:55 am
WOOOOOOOWWWW!!! love the last photograph!
March 9, 2011 at 9:12 am
Hehe…I like the comments paralleling this collection to Star Wars. It is tad extreme. I still can appreciate.
March 9, 2011 at 9:55 am
The second and the 4th one are my favorites
Like this green-blue
March 9, 2011 at 10:26 am
Lots of ideas one can borrow and adjust to less costy materials (like velvet instead of suede) and sew at home. Classy at its best.
March 9, 2011 at 10:28 am
Photo #6 is very Star Wars. Love it!!!
March 9, 2011 at 10:38 am
Hermes is my favourite collection from the shows. It looks as if they went back to the 1920's and Art Deco for their inspiration.
The designs remind me of beautiful 1920's Vogue magazine illustrated covers, Nancy Cunard sporting armloads of Art Deco bracelets, and Man Ray photos.
Is that a bad thing? I think not!
proletarian Great Gatsby
March 9, 2011 at 10:44 am
wearable luxury in each inch .Phantasy but not disguise.A god choise after Gaultier.
March 9, 2011 at 10:55 am
Oh wow. Your first shot is AMAZING. What a great photo.
LOVE this collection, esp. the accessories and boots. Even the quiver works.
Those boots in the last shot are BOOTISH PERFECTION. The perfect pair of boots–perfect heel, perfect colour, perfect knee height, perfect level of softness/stiffness. They are perfect.

i really love the colors !
WOWi would love to see this collection in person!!
March 9, 2011 at 11:36 am
FANTASTIC Sherwood Forest chic!
March 9, 2011 at 11:43 am
Sch strong colors and volumes!Very refined, love it!
March 9, 2011 at 11:45 am
Some of the pieces are very pretty, but high waisted, baggy leather pants, as in the first photo?? NEVER. And there were other looks in the show that should stay only on the runway. I am very mixed about this collection.
IS THIS IT? models review
March 9, 2011 at 11:58 am
Yep, I liked this a lot too, colours especially.
House of Hemingway
March 9, 2011 at 11:59 am
I find it so interesting that the stairs seen in the background go perfectly with the organic form of all the outfits. Was that a happy mistake or was it premeditated?
It was a very interesting show indeed, lots of mixed textures made it truly unique.
March 9, 2011 at 12:20 pm
J'aime beaucoup ! c'est original :)
March 9, 2011 at 1:10 pm
Love the colors. Is it me or is there a strong resemblance to Fall 2011 and the movie Blade Runner? I'm ready for instead of the fashion industry, the travel industry to be a bit more sci-fi as in Transporters with no TSA. :0)
March 9, 2011 at 1:14 pm
great collection. Also, the models look a little more healthy in this runway show, which is nice.
March 9, 2011 at 1:32 pm
I don't like this show at all ….it's too sportly for my style :D
March 9, 2011 at 1:34 pm
From what I've seen of the fall runway shows, Hermes definitely rules the season! Sleek design, elegant colors, modern yet wearable, marvelous contrasts in materials and shapes…….wow……..
March 9, 2011 at 1:53 pm
I loved JPG at Hermes so Lemaire's transitioning into the role may take a moment of adjustment for me. One thing that jumps out though (besides those delicious boots in the last photo) is the simplicity and wearability of the shapes, all the better to show off the exquisite craftsmanship and quality of materials upon which Hermes prides itself.
March 9, 2011 at 2:15 pm
Oh Wow! How wonderful this collection is! Fantastic colours and brilliant to see brown leather as well as black. I just love it all…

Christophe Lemaire looks a fantastic election to Hermes.elmundoenunespejo.jimdo.com
March 9, 2011 at 4:07 pm
Wow, the 3rd last photo is very Jedi. A sexy Vader-Luke combo.
March 9, 2011 at 4:22 pm
Agree that the collection is fantastic.
But do the people who can afford Hermes actually dress this way?
March 9, 2011 at 4:29 pm
Three words: Native American-Bauhaus
March 9, 2011 at 4:48 pm
very nice, i love the colors- it all has a vintagey but contemporary kind of feel to it… kind of star wars like maybe…
March 9, 2011 at 4:50 pm
A couper le souffle!
March 9, 2011 at 5:16 pm
Are these costumes for Star Wars?

March 9, 2011 at 5:35 pm
I like Tamara de Lempicka and her paintings…
March 9, 2011 at 5:49 pm
The red dress is both sophisticated and dramatic – you don't see that a lot these days. Great composition.
Mogens G. Andersen
March 9, 2011 at 6:10 pm
Beautiful dresses. I come to think of the French cartoon artist Moebius' sci-fi visions. It's far superior to any star wars design.
March 9, 2011 at 6:13 pm
OMGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THESE CLOTHES ARE BLOWING MY MIND! FANTASTIC. I AM SO INSPIRED BY THIS COLLECTION!!!!
March 9, 2011 at 6:37 pm
Each look is more incredible than the other. FABULOUS! To make a debut with this sort of detail and imagination is truly inspiring and something I admire w/out equal.
March 9, 2011 at 8:16 pm
WOW! So fantastic!

mix of 1930's, 1970's and oriental influence.
March 9, 2011 at 9:15 pm
Sartorial or not, this is the coolest thing I've seen all week. How flawlessly they frame past motifs in a futuristic context.

Beautiful… but a bit too 1979-81 plus Encens magazine styling. Would love to see a modern twist.
March 10, 2011 at 7:51 am
the last picture is perfection to me…i have the little red riding hood on my mind while seeing this..its amazingthe leather looks so soft..xxthe cookies

Simplicity to prefection in the two last pictures

March 11, 2011 at 5:28 pm
My favorite collection, so far.
March 11, 2011 at 6:00 pm
The model in the brown boots lookslike she's prepared for almost anything…
March 11, 2011 at 7:36 pm
I like the blue dress (??) and the floor-length dress. I found it quite amusing that there was robin-hood outfit. That made me laugh.
March 11, 2011 at 10:24 pm
Gorgeous! And – wearable.
March 12, 2011 at 2:12 am
This was a trully amazing collection. Prada's was not. But with Hermes you can never go wrong.

Hermes always knows how to stand out…
In 2 hours I will posts my shoot in the Dutch ELLE, check it out!
March 12, 2011 at 6:56 pm
I am taking up archery for that outfit!
March 12, 2011 at 7:47 pm
i love the stage set for this show – the staircase is like a contemporary urban view, people (models in this case) walking throgh the city scape. You also see the blue sky in the background and the models are bathed in low sunlight at the top of the stairs – nice touch! The wooden architectural structure is beautiful too, and match the clothes well. Only the tiled floor is a bit too much (bit I guess the patchwork and handicraft detailing in the collection carried them off into fetish land.. but a beautiful collection staged in the most precise way, imitating the "real world" of the city.
March 13, 2011 at 12:08 am
love the last photo but i'm not sure if the accessory is very practical and/or peace-loving!!!
March 14, 2011 at 8:50 am
March 14, 2011 at 3:23 pm
love the (mocca?) pants on the picture second to last picture
March 14, 2011 at 9:56 pm
Wowee – I had been a bit discouraged over the past couple of seasons, and this moved me like nothing has in some time.
March 17, 2011 at 5:27 am
Was fantastic? The worst collection for Hermés ever… It's totally different from the Hermés, an Lemaire is definitely a different designer than what Hermés needs.
March 17, 2011 at 9:27 am
Wow by far an improvement to past collections!www.copperetiquette.wordpress.com
March 19, 2011 at 3:34 am
Am I the only one who finds this collection unimaginative and boring?
March 24, 2011 at 6:44 pm
I agree with some of the other readers; this collection immediately reminded me of Lempicka's paintings.
March 25, 2011 at 4:37 pm
I agree. It had mixed reviews but I like Lemaire's viewpoint and I loved the colour palette and tunic shapes. Can't believe that people called this 'boring'!
March 26, 2011 at 3:40 am
Love it. Very much the style of Lempicka's paintings.
June 17, 2011 at 4:06 pm
Love the Twenties futurist simplicity of the whole vision – it has that sense of modernism as something fresh, exciting and forward looking (but wrapped in a classic shell)
September 13, 2011 at 5:25 pm
i like this bag!
January 13, 2012 at 2:16 pm
Until I saw the bow and arrow I thought these were stills from a new DUNE movie.
January 13, 2012 at 10:56 pm
its awesome to see a collection that brings new ideas. to many fashion shows just show over and over again what a see in magazines and store windows. when i look at collections i do want to see something new. But…… Robin hood? seriously?
