The pen in hand makes the outfit.
I love the textures here. Is that a down herringbone vest? Mixed with a beautiful scarf. Got to love the koreans.

January 12, 2011 at 1:55 pm
brown-beige-grey … colours that always match perfectly and give you the expression of both: elegant & relaxed. love it. not to forget: this man looks really interesting & "très sympa". it´s always about both, style PLUS personality, isn´t it ?
this is so simple. yet he looks so well put together. love it.
January 12, 2011 at 1:58 pm
Oh, what a lovely color palette! I love the neutrals with a soft aubergine and hint of grey dropping below his vest.
January 12, 2011 at 1:59 pm
oops: and it this scarf is not brown but "mauve" (at second sight it looks like that) – it would be even more chic&cool !yeah.
January 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm
Oh I forgot your out of the country. I can't wait to see all the photos you get or got. Sorry I'm in a time lapse at the moment.

January 12, 2011 at 2:04 pm
The different textures of the pieces of his outfit work really well together, although I would never have thought a camel overcoat over a tweedy body warmer could work, he really pulls it off here!
January 12, 2011 at 2:09 pm
I'm loving purple hues with neutrals lately! Great shot!
love how he masters the tone in tone look! :)

This is a brilliant picture!xoxohttp://fashionagony.blogspot.com/
January 12, 2011 at 2:14 pm
Love the color combination of the brown herringbone vest and the purple scarf. The color of the grommet on the vest is also playing the nice role. The amount of the heather grey sweater underneath the vest is perfect. But the most important one in this picture is his tanned face!naoko
January 12, 2011 at 2:17 pm
I like the coat!
January 12, 2011 at 2:18 pm
It's so wrong.. but it's so right somehow…
Love your photos :)
January 12, 2011 at 2:21 pm
Wonderful! I love the rich aubergine of the scarf balancing out all the neutrals…
January 12, 2011 at 2:25 pm
i love the vest/ jacket he is wearing underneath his coat.
January 12, 2011 at 2:30 pm
the scarf! that colour pulls it all together like magic.
January 12, 2011 at 2:32 pm
First comment?? Not possible…probably hasn't been updated yet.
I'm in love with the color combination–subtle, yet really lovely.
January 12, 2011 at 2:33 pm
He really has an eye for matching colors! I love neutral colors! Especially when they are mixed up with one outstanding color.
January 12, 2011 at 2:35 pm
the vest looks pretty heavy/warm, but he might need it with the light trench coat. The scarf adds some color.
January 12, 2011 at 2:38 pm
Where do I get that coat?
Great site, great photos!
January 12, 2011 at 2:40 pm

January 12, 2011 at 3:05 pm
Just amazing, so simple and so stylish.
What a cool vest, and I love the mixing of neutrals.
January 12, 2011 at 3:08 pm
The texture of the tweed vest and the pop of the purple scarf are nice touches to the fairly monochromatic ensemble. I'm also intrigued by the rounded shape of the vest pockets…
I definitely look forward to more fabulous outfits from Pitti Uomo – some of my favorite images by the Sartorialist are from Firenze.
i love his face..i love not too pretty but super strong features and that exactly what this guy has
January 12, 2011 at 3:21 pm
He look's very comfortable with himself and his style. I love the textures and subtle color's.
I love his entire ensemble! And the stance he takes. The vest really is a great part of it!
January 12, 2011 at 3:27 pm

Wow- he wears that outfit well. The purple is the perfect dash of color to the beige and grey. I love purple and grey, clothes that is, not skies (little portland humor for you…)

January 12, 2011 at 6:20 pm
the dark violet scarf and the herringbone vest are the stars here.also like the collar on the coat and the mottled grey sweater.
mixing the classics.

January 12, 2011 at 7:12 pm
Great combination, and what a wonderful vest, but what I like most about the image is that the subject is in control–of his look and of the image. My eyes bounce around, but always land back on his face and I'm drawn in and want to engage him. Very nice shot.
(Love the blog.)

I am such a big fan of wearing multiple shades of brown and beige together. In my opinion: it only works with those two colours.

January 13, 2011 at 5:52 am
He is perfect and simple color.
January 13, 2011 at 6:07 am
Very cool look. Relaxed and classy at the same time. Love the contrast between the puffy vest and the loose and light trench. The colours suit him so well
January 13, 2011 at 6:38 am

January 13, 2011 at 7:02 am
Chic and chic again.
January 13, 2011 at 7:15 am
I like this. He seems casually elegant and the purple scarf is a nice pop of color.
January 13, 2011 at 7:55 am
The very definition of monochromatic –right down to his complexion! I'm exhausted just thinking of the jet lag you must be experiencing, from NYC to Seoul to Florence! Go to Gilli's for a double espresso, pronto!

Wow, nice picture! What brand is the vest?
January 13, 2011 at 9:20 am

January 13, 2011 at 11:11 am

January 13, 2011 at 11:12 am
Maybe I'm crazy, but I like colour and the left ear too!
January 13, 2011 at 11:24 am
This is man's look is really beyond commentary, it's that complete, that together.
January 13, 2011 at 12:30 pm
Anorak instead of a trench, yes? I believe we'll be seeing a lot of these this spring. Wonderful layering, the scarf takes this look to another level. Another great face! Your blog is making me want to do two things 1) put my blue jeans away for a while and 2) better appreciate the character in my own aging face.
January 13, 2011 at 12:59 pm
I like the maroon scarf with the vest, which has edging in what looks like a brownish maroon. That tweedy look for the vest is wonderful, I like it with the thinness of the jacket, puffy vs. thin. The pants and grey sweater are nothing special, but the top layers make it. Yes, he has an interesting face.

I love his direct look at the viewer. Confidence just shines from his face. And that vest? Just a wonderful article of clothing. I could see it with so many variations and looking good with all of them.
January 13, 2011 at 4:39 pm

The Hype Around...
January 13, 2011 at 11:18 pm
He is the epitome of cool. Self assured with a scarf and, what? A tweed down vest!
January 14, 2011 at 2:54 am
Grey and beige works rarely, in my view, and he does it so well, maybe because of all the different tones (and the purple scarf).
Also TWEED sailor's vest? Such things they have these days. Amazing.

Wow!! First, I love how the whole appearence is rugged, yet clean. Then I love how the purple pops amidst all of the neutral colors. It's not at all drab.

January 15, 2011 at 11:52 am
Interesting fellow…fab color pallet. Were it not for the color of his skin the scene could be monochromatic with the exception of the flash of blue. Nice detail in the photo, Sart.
January 15, 2011 at 11:40 pm
So handsome and interesting. I love the various lengths. Love his face…tan and masculine.
January 16, 2011 at 9:07 am
wow, what a cool guy. the masculine, monochrome look is great. i´d like to know what shoes he wears.cheers from stuttgart, d.

January 16, 2011 at 11:38 pm
I really like the gillet.
January 17, 2011 at 11:30 am
The textures are lovely! Love the purple accents.
January 18, 2011 at 11:42 pm
where can i buy that vest?!
January 19, 2011 at 10:43 am
I absolutely love the whole outfit, but what specifically stands out to me is the scarf over the popped collar of the vest which affords just the perfect amount of beige herringbone to compliment the purple!
January 19, 2011 at 12:16 pm
Great vest and dude knows it.
January 19, 2011 at 10:52 pm
Perfect color & texture. Love his looking-right-at-you attitude, too.

The vest is by 45rpm, from the fall 2010 collection. They made a version for women also, though it wasn't nearly as spectacular.
