I do love grey. Navy suits it well.
February 11, 2009 at 9:45 am
Immaculate as always… I guess it’s only fair now that she pops a picture of you on her site!
February 11, 2009 at 9:54 am
I agree with sidneyschaefer… Graceful Garance… A beautiful woman.
February 11, 2009 at 9:57 am

February 11, 2009 at 10:00 am
Sigh. I do wish Garance would adopt me. Maybe some of her effortless elegance would rub off on me in time. A girl can dream, can’t she?
Delighted and Charmed
Stunning, per usual.

Hello, this is the reason why we love her, she’s smart and lovely and talentuous.
February 11, 2009 at 10:25 am
Garance Dore! Some people might think this is boring, but I don’t think they get it. She looks extremely gracefully. I adore her and her blog.
February 11, 2009 at 10:27 am
I love the texture and hand of a boiled wool or walk coat. the grey and navy look natural together.
Aaah Garance. It’s great to see the person behind the blog, and she’s incredibly stylish ! Her scarf looks amazing, this navy colour…
February 11, 2009 at 10:29 am
She is so beautiful.
February 11, 2009 at 10:37 am
I can’t stop looking at those shoes. The shape of the toe, the heel –perfect walking-around shoes. And the lady is a natural beauty.

Like her shoes, nicely worn in. I always imagine people in eternal pain wearing shoes that are too new. Great ensemble that doesnt have to cost a lot of money! Jorge from W Palm Beach
February 11, 2009 at 11:19 am
OMG! Thank you! What a perfect, calm beauty.I read her blog every day.Wow.
February 11, 2009 at 11:33 am
Garance is lovely as are the women she photographs
February 11, 2009 at 11:43 am
Her hair is what really makes this look work. Even though the jacket is pretty unstructed, it would look weird with boring pin straight hair. She really carries herself so well, and it does not appear at all that she is putting on a show or posing like some others. She seems so naturally graceful. Wonderful lady!
February 11, 2009 at 11:56 am
Love her blog and love her coat!!
February 11, 2009 at 12:03 pm
Her blog is great. I’m so glad it’s also in English now.
As for what she’s wearing It’s very elegant and easy and utilitarian. I particularly love the boy shoes and that coat.
She’s really lovely and comes across in her blog as equally lovely on the inside.
February 11, 2009 at 12:14 pm
Breathtaking serenity. I’m reminded of what Almasy said about Katharine in the English Patient – K’s clothes always at ease on her. Beautiful shot.
February 11, 2009 at 12:39 pm
Who knows where I can get shoes like that?

February 11, 2009 at 2:27 pm

February 12, 2009 at 2:10 am
Her blog is phenomenal…my daily fix (plus you too, of course, Sart). Beautiful.
February 12, 2009 at 3:50 am
I would love to see a photo blog that’s full of fashion photographers taking photos of each other. No joke. More often than not, I find the photographers much more interesting than their subjects.
February 12, 2009 at 3:53 am
Ah, Garance… Her blog too leaves me on cloud 9.
Your photographing her is like Renoir & Monet painting together!
February 12, 2009 at 5:11 am

The epitome of chic.
February 12, 2009 at 7:32 am
I make it a great day by starting off with you Sart and the lovely Garance! A match made in heaven.
I will be moving to Paris soon and I hope to run into Her Chicness on the street.

She is my style idol.
February 12, 2009 at 8:42 am
If anybody wondered about how to give a definition of the well-known but rarely seen french je-ne-sais-quoi, he has the answer !
February 12, 2009 at 8:49 am
Typical parisienn look. sober, chic, natural.
February 12, 2009 at 9:13 am
i love the generous cut of the gray wool coat on her. she looks so quietly confident and chic – a true inspiration!
February 12, 2009 at 9:24 am
I love her blog!
February 12, 2009 at 10:07 am
She is such a great fashion illustrator. I love everything about her!
February 12, 2009 at 12:04 pm
As lovely as her pictures. What I love the most about her is that she takes pictures of subjects that have a similar appeal to her. She usually avoids the over-processed, too done up look.
February 12, 2009 at 12:16 pm
What do you call that type of sleeve? There is a coat by Opening Ceremony that is cut that way. She’s lovely, this lady.
February 12, 2009 at 1:00 pm
she is gorgeous! beautiful colours :)
February 12, 2009 at 1:35 pm
yay!! an equally good photographer & subject!
February 12, 2009 at 6:21 pm
Merci pour ces aperçus de Garance, Mr Sartorialist. Despite the fact she talks a lot about style, and sometimes of hers, she never shows it on her own blog, certainly for ‘shyness’ (maybe I would rather use the word ‘pudeur’ in french). We readers must be all glad to see that she is as stylish as her photos, texts and drawings.(I have absolutely no clue how she manages to get this sweet ‘halo’ of light crowning the head of her models, but she seems to carry it on her head…)Apologies if my English appears to be dysfunctional!
February 12, 2009 at 7:41 pm
my boyfriend looked over my shoulder while I was looking at this photo and said, “Who is she? She looks French…”
I looked at him amazed.
A style so beautiful and defined that someone who has not much idea about it can look at a photo and see it. Gorgeous.
February 12, 2009 at 10:53 pm
You look very stylish Garance!!Classy&Elegant without being boring. And I think you did a great job with this picture:)
February 13, 2009 at 1:03 am

February 14, 2009 at 8:53 am

February 16, 2009 at 2:49 am
oh, how i love her!
March 26, 2009 at 9:39 pm
LOVE that coat!
March 29, 2013 at 9:18 pm
You’re very romantic when your hair is down. You should do it more often, practical or not.
October 20, 2013 at 5:28 am
By now this shot is a few years old, so I want to ask if Ms Dore still wears this coat? I’m rather envious of its beauty, warmth (I assume) and its adaptability. Tres belle e tres chic… (I hope that’s correct French).
