I am sure there’s something brilliant about this outfit. I look forward to one of the other commenters breaking it down to my level. Starting with the hair, and continuing with the suit, I just plain dont like this. Jorge from W Palm Beach
Terrific! The photography, the pose, the cigarette smoke, the awesome suit…the yellow T makes it look modern and the black pocket handkerchief is very suave. Signor Pipoli looks like the sort of man who can tell great stories.
Western spaghetti. I agree with Jorge from W Palm. From the streak of hair standing out, to the pen and the gold bracelet. It’s all too much or nothing much at all. Nice yellow tee. The suit looks cheap.
His may not be the greatest suit and his hair may need management, but I’d wager that–unlike many of the Milanese men featured on this blog in recent weeks–this man’s trousers don’t end at his ankles.
I love this photo. I want to know this guy, drink wine with him and swap stories. I’ll bet he’s surrounded with laughing grandchildren, beautiful women and dangerous relatives.
Wow, he’s absolutely striking. His yellow shirt pops out, but not more than that expression on his face. Makes me want to find out more about him. He’s definitely cool.
I love this! I would like to say, that it’s because of the great combination of brown, yellow and black in an informal mix of the delicate suit and the casual shirt, but to be honest I wouldn’t have noticed any of this without the attitude – the way you wear your clothes means anything to a great outfit!
fantastic! looks like an old moschino suit, love the hand in the pants ( mickey rourke does it too)…think i’m going to adopt it! looks lke a soccer tee under the suit great portrait!
Love the way the asymmetry of the waistcoat(I think) over the yellow tee. Don’t think it works with the suit though – would be better with dark jeans and no jacket. Think it’s quite obvious that the sheer character of the man is what carries the whole outfit, the clothing combination on it’s own doesn’t really work.
I’ve noticed how many of the European men use the cigarette as a prop while taking their pics, reminding me of an earlier time when advertisements used to portray smoking as the cool, in thing to do.
Shots like this also remind me that I am happy that those days are long gone.

I think in this case it’s not what he’s wearing – not at all.
It’s HOW he’s wearing it.
That’s what style is.
