It would appear that the first example is one of those Doc Martens by CDG, for which I could never find retailers- I ended up picking up a pair from my thrift store!!! The second example, my favorite are the well-worn oxfords by the guy slightly to the left of center. As the NYT was pointing out, people look at 2-3 things: your watch, your belt, your shoes. You can create an expensive or trendy outfit with these 3 and some basics. I guess for women we would add a handbag? Again, buy a classic! Great pictures!!! Jorge from WPB
We all had those Dr Martens when we were teens…OMG, they still look fab ! But nowadays, I would prefer to (try) walk in those turkish silky blue ones… Very SACT-like…
The first picture makes me wonder if that’s a male or a female. I mean, looking at the shoes, makes me think girl because of the designs and prints but the actual structure of the boots makes me think man. Then the purse, well it’s bulky, short handles, that’s a man bag, and then I spied that long strap, and lack of pockets, it it a purse? The hand, could be either one and the watch seems to be for a man, but who knows… Oh, and btw, I am a lover of peacoats but I hate the back of this one
I saw a pair of floral doc martins at a shop in NYC in the late 80s, and I didn’t buy them because I just couldn’t afford them (I think they were probably $100, which might have been a million for how broke I was in those day.) I will always regret those boots!!
Who’s the brilliant mind that thought of this coat? Who’s the brilliant mind that was attracted to wearing this coat and wearing it with these stand-out shoes. Brilliant!
Oooo, my brilliant mind remembers the flowered docs from an earlier post. I bet this is the same woman with the metallic purse, gray dress and metallic-y jacket.
i have those floral docs! i bought them when i was a teenager and absolutely loved them, but haven’t worn them in years and years. i have been trying to summon up the courage to wear them again over the past year or so. now i think i’ll finally do it.
Very lucky to have the owner of a cobalt blue backpack next to the wearer of the cobalt blue shoes. And a cobalt blue sweater ahead of them. But you seen to have great photo luck.
Is the blonde wear Louboutins? I like the blonde purse with the blonde hair and everything else dark.
I wonder what they are waiting for. Interesting group, even from behind.
(just a side note – the girl on the right in the second picture looks a little like Blake Lively)
I love, love, love the first coat, definitely something I’d wear. The second is cool, but I’m not a fan of sleeveless outerwear (probably because I live in a Nordic climate and it just doesn’t make sense). But for me, the shoes and the Docs make the picture – nothing like good footwear to create a memorable outfit.
The Juxtaposition of the Jansport is probably the most progressive fashion piece I’ve seen in a while. So stupid-it’s awesome..some next level fashion!!
oh.my.word. those blue pumps…i don’t know what to say. I want them to materialize out of the photo and onto my feet. This is another example of one of hundreds of photos you are able to capture so candidly. I love it.
The floral docs are wonderful. But looks a bit odd with the big boots, wide coat hem, large bag… and very skinny legs!
Also, the bag and the boots each look great on their own. But if I were going out in those boots I would find a more striking bag – one in a colour picked out from the boots, or something thoroughly outrageous like stripes or checks. This look doesn’t do justice to those boots.
In the blue-shoes photo I agree with those who love the look of the young Palomino on the right. All sexy wavy lines – from the pony’s tail to the black-stocking legs.
I would like to OWN the blue shoes and grey coat, but I would like to BE the blondie.
He He… I noticed a few comments about the blonde to the right and my first thought was boring…. and typical. Body clinging coat, Louboutin’s, long blonde hair… but I think it’s really the gutsy coat and shoes next to her that make me think such.
I love the second shot!
Beautiful colour and perfect heel size, they must be
comfortable!
I like the courage of the first flowery pair instead
but wouldn t wear them..
