She looks like Jane Joplin…

dear Sart, please give us back the old format! I really miss the bigger size close-ups… the current size just doesn’t satisfy.

whatever happened to midnight blue..
March 5, 2009 at 6:57 pm
Incredible color, incredible clothes!
March 5, 2009 at 7:10 pm
I really love these women with their hats. They almost always seem to be men’s hats, which makes me a bit sad. I wish we women could find good hats. I also wish American women would take to hats again. It’s been what … forty five years?
March 5, 2009 at 7:27 pm
Love this close-up picture, you can see the richness of the colour, the textures, gorgeous!
March 5, 2009 at 7:28 pm
She’s ravishing, and I want to ravish that cobalt coat!
March 5, 2009 at 7:42 pm

If only we saw more images like this in the media… such captivating eyes.
March 5, 2009 at 9:50 pm
I really love this photo. The composition and light are just lovely. You probably get this question a million times, but what camera/lens did you use here? Thanks!
March 5, 2009 at 10:25 pm
this isnt very interesting clothing wise. however her expression is beautiful.
March 5, 2009 at 10:27 pm
Great, great, great jacket!
March 5, 2009 at 11:01 pm
Her hair is beautiful. She has what looks like dreads with a modern twist. And that coat, the shade of blue is very eye catching.

Great photo, and her hair is really great: reminds me of Galadriel from Lord of the Rings.

I find this breathtaking.
March 6, 2009 at 6:00 am
all the latest pics are so beautiful and real. thank you!
March 6, 2009 at 6:08 am
the colour of the trench is simply amazing, along with the simple yet quirky ‘dread’ look of her hair…. reminds me of Alanis
March 6, 2009 at 7:02 am
Love her coat (beautiful colour) and hat but I don’t think her hair quite works in that style. Takes away from her amazing facial bone structure.
March 6, 2009 at 7:14 am
Incredible cheekbones. A Native American princess, moved to Milan as a first step in changing the world’s definition of true beauty?
March 6, 2009 at 7:42 am
@ Sart ; I have to agree with Elle…you see much more detail on the bigger size close-ups…
As for this image :How lovely a combo of black and blue can be ….am a GREAT fan of bl/bl combo’s myself…
March 6, 2009 at 7:44 am
She looks more like Alanis Morisette but with a touch of Monica Bellucci…(she has lovely pouty lips)
March 6, 2009 at 8:04 am
She’s so beautiful. My god.
March 6, 2009 at 8:25 am
I know this blog is about the clothes, but that is one incredible piece of photography. I’m undone.
March 6, 2009 at 8:46 am
incredible colours! this is a really good shoot!
March 6, 2009 at 9:05 am
Great photograph Scott – love the use of background with her trench and her thoughtful eyes. Killer chapeau too!
March 6, 2009 at 9:28 am
That lighting..I can’t believe it’s just plain “on the street” lighting.beautiful
March 6, 2009 at 9:36 am
I love this photo! The lighting is great with just enough separation between her blue coat and the black background.
March 6, 2009 at 9:44 am
March 6, 2009 at 10:16 am
this reminds me of leonard cohen’s “famous blue raincoat”
March 6, 2009 at 11:00 am
I find her to be quite a natural beauty…something about those eyes and fair skin. And the lighting here is truly amazing as well. Hot photo!
March 6, 2009 at 11:05 am
And she would look so much better with clean hair . . .
March 6, 2009 at 11:08 am
What a beautiful blue that coat is!
March 6, 2009 at 11:35 am
Camilla?!? C’avrei scommesso…Lo stile non ti è mai mancato.
pretty kitty publishing
March 6, 2009 at 2:17 pm
I wish more of us would allow our natural beauty to blossom as this woman so elegantly does …
March 6, 2009 at 3:47 pm
The coat and hat complement each other. Her pose hides her blouse and whatever else she is wearing.
March 6, 2009 at 4:05 pm
a true study of beauty…especially the eyes. the smile lines about her eyes make me swoon.
March 6, 2009 at 4:21 pm
Is that Fionna Apple? I love the color of the jacket.
March 6, 2009 at 6:18 pm
oh. i love her. amazing colors.
March 6, 2009 at 6:27 pm
Outstanding photo…although I like the old format better too. It was way more fun getting to click and get a close up.
March 7, 2009 at 12:20 am
Beautiful lighting on this shot…beautiful dark, dark blues being brought to life by light…wonderful shot…
March 7, 2009 at 3:00 am
March 7, 2009 at 5:45 am
Gorgeous photo, gorgeous woman. In fact she reminds me of Isabella Rosellini in profile as they both have similar cheekbones, eyes, and lips.
March 7, 2009 at 6:34 am
Love her haircut, looks elvish. Reminds me of Galadriel in Lord of the Rings (the movies i.e)
March 7, 2009 at 6:04 pm

She makes me proud of being a woman, too.
Thanks a lot for this great shot.
March 9, 2009 at 8:07 am
I’ve been following this blog for about 2 years now and I have to say that the last half dozen posts are really showing how much you continue to develop as an artist/photographer. This one especially is so strong formally. I think your work will stand the test of time as both a cultural archive as well as art of its time. Keep it up.
March 9, 2009 at 2:27 pm
I love that tiny wrinkle on her flawless skin. It’s like you have captured her at the “aha” moment in her life.I also like how you didn’t get her to remove the hair elastic from her wrist. People often ask me what that band is on my wrist…I’m like- it’s a hair elastic. It just made me smile.
March 9, 2009 at 6:18 pm
that face! coat and hat and hair and hairband on wrist make her look comfortable in her skin and happy to be stylish without trying to hard. born with it!

She actually looks like Arwen from LOTR.
September 19, 2012 at 5:04 pm
Another gorgeous portrait
This is the second one in your blog that has a touch of the Dutch Masters about it
The coat is beautiful and the subject looks like someone I’d really enjoy talking to
March 6, 2015 at 8:46 pm
She reminds me of Isabelle Adjani.
