Summer chic! Like Isabelle pointed out regarding the stripes, I, too, love it. The different blue tones work very well, including the boat shoe. The glasses, the satchel, the wrist watch, the pocket square, all these details help to complete this gentlman's look. Why can't we have more men dress this way in the US, especially here in the San Francisco bay area. I'm tire of the hipster look which is messy and stinky looking. The Europeans and the Japanese totally get it!
i've been quietly following your blog for a long time now & thought i'd drop you a line :]
i love this look. i would have never thought to put horizontal and vertical stripes together but the outcome is great. & love your blog! i'm inspired everytime i stop by- keep up the amazing work!
I always love a striped shirt, especially with a striped seersucker suit jacket. It looks so easy to do, but isn't. I think the shorts are a type of denim. We seems to be seeing a lot of denim this summer in Europe.
Aha! A second reference to Marimekko today. Yes, it looks like he's wearing the timeless Marimekko striped T-Shirt. I've got one too in brown.
Yes, he looks fantastic. I love the Seersucker jacket in the cooler classic colors for summer mixed in with… What am I saying? Everything this gentleman is wearing is classic, and I love how he's put it all together. He is one cool fellow. I love the elegant addition of the handkerchief. Very nice!
Nice look all round. He is handsome and suave and has great legs! I also like the looks either side of him. The check shirt is smarting as far as check shirts go–good depth of colour. And the hat and collared tee are perfect together on the other fellow.
Simple but highly calculated combination of stripes and solids. The addition of the Seersucker blazer with the cooler more traditional color palette for summer, is my favorite part of his outfit. And the handkerchief is so gentlemanly. He looks great!
This guys has got it spot one. Great combinations of shades (all the different blues) and textures, stripes, hoops and plains. Shorts right length, just above the knee and the deck shoes are finish it all off. Little details again spot on (guffs, pocket square, bag and glasses) and all work together well. This is how a modern gent should dress in summer!
Just bought a striped top like that and was wondering how else I could wear it. Looks awesome with the casual jacket. My legs aren't as beefy as that though!
Sweet. We should see more smart tailored shorts in the UK, they're a rarity. The deck shoes are timeless, but feel part of this 'uniform'? The guy to the right has an almost classic mod look, maybe that polo is a Fred Perry M12 (I understand the japanese are mad for these English styles?), the desert boots, hat, but the turn-ups are off – dark Levi's would make the set! Old school style still takes some beating…

Layer upon layer of boring and clichéd dullitude, and the guy behind with identical glasses just proves the point… (and almost becomes another layer)
Hmm, I think he just crossed that fine line to fashion victimhood.
