I like her look!!!!
August 30, 2010 at 10:29 am
Goodness, I love this idea! How cheeky.
August 30, 2010 at 10:30 am
Lovely – and you're right…her legs looks beautiful!

Love her blazer! Interesting how perspectives can play tricks…

I like her knit hat…it looks like one of the popular patterns on Ravelry. I'd like this outfit better with some wedgies or some shoes with height. It would be a little more sassy.

Understood. I have worn several "tunic" length tops and jackets lately that both hit nearly the bottom of my shorts. I have often wondered if this is proper or tacky looking. But then I think, "Its summer and 110 degrees outside, one must do what one must do". I think this young lady looks great, the shoes speak volumes. They tell you, when she turns around she's going to look just great. I looks forward to the weather cooling down and being able to wear a blazer. Wow, what a wonderful thought!
August 30, 2010 at 10:41 am
And she's wearing Toms!http://www.toms.com/our-movement/
August 30, 2010 at 10:46 am
Yeah actually she almost looks naked ! I love the color of her hat !
August 30, 2010 at 10:52 am
It's always something you can't see that creates the fantasy. And her legs and the unseen face are the biggest fantasy in this shot.
August 30, 2010 at 10:53 am
this would look better with heels. It would elongate her already beautiful legs and add to the proportion of the jacket.
April 18, 2013 at 6:38 pm
No, it would then be simple and tacky. The reason it works is that she isn’t trying to show off her legs, she just is. Shorts with heels is almost always a bad idea. But especially here it would ruin everything. But of course some men simply like things like that, because oits more “sexy” which trumps style to them.
This way is perfect.
she is gorgeous! what a flawless fall look!
perhaps out of proportion?

August 30, 2010 at 11:06 am

August 30, 2010 at 11:07 am
I thought she was naked. Love the hat.Teresa
Love the yellow and blue. Warmly, Karen

August 30, 2010 at 11:27 am
That touch of buttery yellow is a rich choice and compliments the jacket nicely.
Here is a late-summer version of the "pants-less" look that was a hit at the top of spring season.
August 30, 2010 at 11:28 am
I love that she looks relaxed and comfortable in her outfit, but at the same time, so sassy. Even the way she stands suggests confidence. She's great.
August 30, 2010 at 11:36 am
Really great outfit!xo.
August 30, 2010 at 11:56 am
Her hat is very cool ! I wish it was weather like that over here so I can wear my denim shorts too :p !

August 30, 2010 at 12:17 pm
She is showing off her best feature! WOnderful…although I DO want to see the front (and I was secretly hoping she had on jean shorts..cutoffs…)
August 30, 2010 at 12:29 pm
Interesting point of view. I do love the idea of the bold jacket with the playful Toms shoes!
August 30, 2010 at 12:31 pm

Wow! If I had mile-long legs like hers, I too would risk looking like I had forgotten my pants! Alas, I am not as bold as she…

Great post, I love the tricks our eyes play on us. She's totally rocking that neon beanie too! XOXO, Natalya

Oh, what fun! Love the pop of color from the hat. It's so funny how the most alluring images always seem to reveal only snippets of a person; from the front, this would have been just another shot of just another girl.
August 30, 2010 at 3:11 pm

Heels would be cheezy/tarty…to those who suggested it. It's too predictable. She looks perfect. …WAY better than those tourists across the street!
August 30, 2010 at 3:32 pm
thank you so much! this is exactly what i'm going to wear tomorrow. not with a yellow cap, but with cap for sure…. :)
August 30, 2010 at 3:51 pm
great legs matched with a great hat. Love it!

August 30, 2010 at 3:52 pm
this is such a lovely trans-seasonal look. Chic and tailored and just a little bit cheeky. It can't be easy to show and much (long and tanned – jealous, moi?) leg, wear a luminous yellow oversized beanie and STILL work the look with an air of sophistication. I'm impressed and slightly envious. X
August 30, 2010 at 4:41 pm
Super cute! She completely pulls it off too, and like everyone else has commented, I too love that hat!
August 30, 2010 at 5:15 pm
With legs like this I think she can wear as short as she feels like.
August 30, 2010 at 5:46 pm
I like this look, but you have to remember sometimes fashion can get you into trouble. I had a similar look like this and walking home one night, some man followed be and grabbed my but from behind :(. I was fine and he ran away, but still. We got to remember sometimes I think, that we have to be careful what we choose to wear where.

nice legs, however i cannot stand those types of hats, it looks like an octopus is attacking her head.
August 30, 2010 at 6:38 pm
totally agree with your comment on the back vs. the front. from the back you imagine that shes wearing something very chic and cool–it gives the picture an air of mystery

August 30, 2010 at 7:51 pm
not working for me. sorry, it just looks like she forgot to put on pants. nothing arty about it.
August 30, 2010 at 8:18 pm
i have that problem all the time! people are always yelling at me to put pants on so i have to turn around-sorry my sweater is longer than my shorts
August 30, 2010 at 8:53 pm
Still unimpressive from the back, I'd say…from the back she just look like she forgot to wear pants.
Proportion? what proportion?
August 30, 2010 at 9:20 pm
I believe he makes an interesting point. I would walk up behind her and say wow, that girl could probably use a some more clothes, and yet as she turns around i would've realized she has shorts on and i wear the same kind of shorts sometimes. Should women not wear shorts this short or just not jackets that long at the same time? The photo is also interesting because of the use of color and angle. The eye level is shorter so she has to have been standing there for a decent amount of time for the picture to have been shot at a low angle, which sparks the question for me, what's she looking at? Are the people across the street looking at the same thing?
August 30, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Great colors, awesome legs, etc!
August 30, 2010 at 10:01 pm

I’ve actually done this but with a long cardigan & skirt not jean cutoffs but to the same she-forgot-her-bottoms-effect.
August 31, 2010 at 2:25 am
what a gorgeous picture! And I love how the angle you view her at totally changes the perception of her… sort of perfect for fashion.
August 31, 2010 at 2:29 am
She looks great from behind!
August 31, 2010 at 2:45 am
Beautiful picture, gorgeous legs, but the hat's gotta go. The weather is too hot/ humid in NYC for that. How can she stand it?
August 31, 2010 at 3:24 am
Yes probably different from the front. Funny and awesome legs. Great jacket
August 31, 2010 at 3:40 am

Yesterday I friend of mine wear like this Lovely
September 1, 2010 at 3:02 pm
i love seeing girls do that, i also love doing it myself! Plus the way her body is posed to a tilt gives the blazer's wavy curves an extra something.
September 1, 2010 at 3:48 pm
oh my god!i feel like i'm looking at myself in this shot!i have a similar blazer, a similar yellow hat and i pretty much dress like this all the time, down to the invisible denim shorts and flats…and what i can see of her facial structure resembles mine. we even have almost the same complexion and figure. i wish i could contact her somehow…
September 1, 2010 at 4:07 pm
Cool! She has awesome legs.

September 10, 2011 at 3:55 pm
Ok, I can’t wait to wear this. Absolutely perfect idea. The heels would totally ruin it. Then it loses all meaning, because jean shorts and heels are tacky together. in fact heels look tacky a lot more often then people think. They look amazing with short dresses as long as the person wearing them doesn’t wear much make up, so you keep the summer image. They also look great with wide pants, but I can not think of any reason other then that to wear high heels. Men always say they wish a woman like that would wear heels. But if she did you would see how it just ruins things. Heels never really flatter legs unless they are with pants, and they make them look bulky. Also, they look like someone is trying very hard. With flatts any look is casual. She looks perfectly perfect like that.

Its seams to me some times, that people dress to catch the attention of others, and to be taken in photos.Just silly
Its a carnival ball…ugly…
