Yes, beautiful show indeed. Very much liking the transparent brogues/oxfords in photo no.3.
September 21, 2010 at 2:43 pm
backwards sweater?? hmmm i'd like to see how that looks in the front ;))
It seems that all of the outfits need a really skinny body. And the shorts/jacket thing? I don't know.
edge and grace
September 21, 2010 at 2:44 pm
i ADORE your last shot of the Paul Smith fashion show. I wish I could wear that to work. :)
Errrr… Someone forgot to put some pants on! ;DGreat pieces, as usual at Paul Smith's.
September 21, 2010 at 2:45 pm
The colours here are fantasticBeautiful pieces
September 21, 2010 at 2:46 pm
I'm really liking the shade of purple they're using..it's very cute. Also, interesting how they tied up the belts, it's quite an ongoing trend right now to loop the ends of belts.
September 21, 2010 at 2:49 pm
It's a good show, I love the second look !
September 21, 2010 at 3:00 pm
The piled belts, love.
September 21, 2010 at 3:06 pm
i seem to be going against the flow, but love the shirt as dress + jacket + slip-on city shoes .. new ways to/for-wards the androgynous style. all these are very inspiring to me.
September 21, 2010 at 3:07 pm
I love the shirtdress with the multiple belts as well as some of the backwards items. The colors are great! x
September 21, 2010 at 3:09 pm
A fine color theme indeed. Love the leather slippers with the briefcase.
And the buttons on the sleeves.
And the triple belts.
Pretty much everything.
Is that a sweater worn backwards I see? Genius.

September 21, 2010 at 3:54 pm
Paul Smith makes me proud to be British. Love the purple all in one…
September 21, 2010 at 3:57 pm
I love the pants ! So class and so british … On the first pic, it's look like Katherine Hepburn style, one of my favorite.
Your post reminds me of when I saw a man wearing a purple V-neck sweater with gray pants while I was sitting in a café in Paris. This guy was so elegant, and on top of that his phone ring was the guitar intro of David Bowie's "China Girl".
September 21, 2010 at 3:58 pm
paul smith- my favourite! love the belts!
September 21, 2010 at 4:02 pm
I am in passionate, deep, sartorialist love with this collection. the second look made me sigh audibly. love that you featured it here.
September 21, 2010 at 4:05 pm
These colors are so elegant!!!
September 21, 2010 at 4:15 pm
yes, the colors of that show were interesting – both the colors that were in it and the colors that were rejected. the sad thing is that it was the first of the london shows where i remarked the LACK of color and therefore made me feel sick to my stomach because when i think of london, i think of the beautiful colors in london.
September 21, 2010 at 4:18 pm
I love the colours!Great to see you're in London!
September 21, 2010 at 4:31 pm
Absolutely Fabulous— feminine, sleek yet comfy looking.

September 21, 2010 at 5:55 pm
Oh my, this is exactly what I love. I also love the hairdo, how do manage to get it like that?!
September 21, 2010 at 6:13 pm
I love this fascination with wine-inspired colors (i.e. Merlot and Cab)…so warm and cozy. XOXO Valerie
September 21, 2010 at 6:23 pm
Colour combinations absolutely gorgeous. Love the flash of yellow underneath the shoe in picture two. Such classic clothes worn with an inspiring palette of colour.
September 21, 2010 at 6:45 pm
Awesome button pattern on that jacket. Oh, and nice legs too.
September 21, 2010 at 6:49 pm

September 21, 2010 at 7:00 pm
I'm attracted to the button placement on the cuffs of the jacket. I'm such a sucker for buttons.
September 21, 2010 at 7:12 pm
Loving the whole look;the colours, the shapes, the drape of the fabrics, the accessories and the models do not look half starved.
September 21, 2010 at 7:37 pm

beautiful!love the sweater
September 21, 2010 at 8:38 pm
This is the first fashion show you have shot that actually makes sense to me, as in, I understand the style and where it is pushing out a new look. Wonderful! I agree that the colors are great – easy to look at but not boring. I especially love the eggplant jumpsuit with the multiple orange belts. And even the poufy French twist hair. Just really inspiring. THank you.
September 21, 2010 at 8:54 pm
The fit of the trousers in the first and third shots are very Katherine Hepburn. Masculine and elegant tones.
i want what she's wearing
September 21, 2010 at 9:11 pm

September 21, 2010 at 9:20 pm
I love the palette. I shall go to vogue.co.uk right now to view the show!
September 21, 2010 at 9:48 pm
Love this collection! I totally dig how they used the belt on the purple piece.
September 21, 2010 at 9:49 pm
Ah, I remember wearing backwards cardigans in high school – after my Mom told me about wearing hers that way back in the '40's! Such a great detail.
September 21, 2010 at 10:31 pm
The purple is just gorge. And I love the last shot.
September 21, 2010 at 11:01 pm
The colors are wonderful, but the backwards sweater…the masculinity…it's so circa 1985-1995. Leave the past in the past.
September 21, 2010 at 11:10 pm
owww so cute and inspiring, love it ♥
September 21, 2010 at 11:39 pm
Every so often that eggplant color makes a reappearance. Not a fan.

September 22, 2010 at 3:04 am
Now this is inspiring fashion. Trust London in all its wayward charm to come up with something so simple and elegant. Love the purple piece as well as the rust top and grey pants. So classy, comfy and elegant.
September 22, 2010 at 3:18 am
yes it's great colour combinations but pretty standard in terms of the english gentry. Go to badminton ( the place not the game) and you would see.

Purple rain,purple rain…
September 22, 2010 at 7:27 am
Must now search for a purple belt!
September 22, 2010 at 9:49 am
I do love all of these–esp the purple colour–it has a touch of magenta which gives it that bit of extra vibrancy. Those loose pants though are hard to wear when short and/or solid around the lower half.
September 22, 2010 at 10:03 am
I LOVE THE CARDIGAN WORN BACKWARDS!
September 22, 2010 at 10:38 am
To be honest, I was really intrigued by the background of the catwalk, with all these frames. :)
September 22, 2010 at 10:56 am
lovin the mix of belts!!!!
September 22, 2010 at 11:07 am
Rust colour, brown n purple – mmmm… colours of autumn!
September 22, 2010 at 11:22 am
Love all of these looks. The simple, clean makeup and hair, the earthy palette, the tailored but feminine drape, ending in (finally!) an elegant shoe.

Backwards cardigan. Brilliant.
Shirtdress plus pantsuit = Shirtsuit. Brilliant.
Suit minus trousers = Not so much.
All photos together. Who wouldn't want to dress like this!
September 22, 2010 at 1:27 pm
Interesting backwards cardigan, I wish there was a shot to see what it looks like from the front though.
September 22, 2010 at 1:50 pm
I love love love this collection, but when I went to the Paul Smith web site (to see if I could purchase any of it online,) it wasn't there. Huh?
A la Femme
September 22, 2010 at 5:01 pm
This was such a stunning collection!!
September 22, 2010 at 5:07 pm
Looove the first shot. It's very Katharine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story.
September 23, 2010 at 1:10 am
The model+styling of the first photo is rather reminiscent of Tilda Swinton (i love it)
I see a movement in fashion to a rather boxy, elegantly masculine silhouette–rather Katherine Hepburn-ish.
September 23, 2010 at 3:18 am
havn't really notice the unique purple of the belts till you mentioned it.Great show indeed. love the etherial masculinity.

Dorissimo says Love it! REAL CLOTHES ! Volume YES!Thank you Mr.Smith!
September 24, 2010 at 11:07 am
I love this collection. The color combinations are beautiful, and the clothing looks extremely comfortable. I probably wouldn't wear the tiny little panties though, not at my age.
September 24, 2010 at 1:09 pm
My fave is the 3rd look! Its something about the structure baggy fit and the play on the belts :)
September 25, 2010 at 3:28 am
wow this is SO modern but SO classic… and the overall affect is so chic!
September 25, 2010 at 8:07 pm
love PS. Hate the store of PS near mine…. Who is Buyer????? Change!
September 27, 2010 at 2:20 am
lovely purple jumpsuit, now how many belts you want with that?
September 27, 2010 at 12:55 pm
my first reaction to the backwards cardi was one of confusion, but after looking at it for a bit i realized how much i love it! i always love an interesting back, and a button down with skin showing through is very clever. i'd probably do this look with a cardigan that doesn't have a pocket, but i love the idea!
September 27, 2010 at 5:14 pm
September 28, 2010 at 10:35 pm
i love the back to front cardigan :)

Thanks so much for providing individuals with an extraordinarily superb chance to read critical reviews from this web site. It really is so nice and also packed with a lot of fun for me personally and my office fellow workers to visit your blog at the very least thrice in 7 days to study the fresh things you have. And lastly, I’m so always contented with your very good things you serve. Selected 2 ideas in this article are definitely the most effective we have had.
