The man in the yellow has such a stronger presence than the man in green, even though his outfit is a bit more subdued. It makes me want to know more about him.
edge and grace
September 30, 2010 at 4:31 pm
i love the rolled up jeans with those loafers. nice shot :)
September 30, 2010 at 4:32 pm
These two look great. Comfy, yet stylish and with good pops of color. Love the fatigue trucker hat too!
September 30, 2010 at 4:36 pm

styling hard for the camera…
September 30, 2010 at 4:37 pm
New York cool.

September 30, 2010 at 4:40 pm
I love his shoes!
September 30, 2010 at 4:41 pm
The picture would be perfect if it weren't for the way the man in the front wears his cap
are you kidding??!
he looks beautiful.
September 30, 2010 at 4:43 pm
love his shoes and the accesories he's sporting (especially his anklets)
September 30, 2010 at 4:45 pm
They both look great individually, but together – all that color is just superb!!
September 30, 2010 at 4:48 pm
Penny loafers and a camo hat…..smiles….
September 30, 2010 at 4:51 pm
LOVE THEM (L)
September 30, 2010 at 4:52 pm
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.
September 30, 2010 at 4:56 pm
Love the colors of these outfits. The guy on the left in the green shirt and rolled up jeans is my fav.
Their styles are so great! I like the shoes of man with the green shirt…
September 30, 2010 at 4:59 pm
from the waist up he looks like a young urban dude, but from the waist down he looks like a very cool middle aged woman.
love the guy with the glasses…cool composition of the picture
September 30, 2010 at 5:03 pm
I prefer elegance or rugged masculinity. The rolled jeans, bare ankles, & baseball cap perched on top leave me absolutley cold.
September 30, 2010 at 5:05 pm
Great!!! Street fashion!
September 30, 2010 at 5:12 pm
His left ankle! I also love the touch of color on the band of his watch. the whole ensamble is obviously effortless
September 30, 2010 at 5:16 pm
Love this! Very Fresh Prince of Bel-Air!
September 30, 2010 at 5:20 pm
I absolutely love this!
September 30, 2010 at 5:25 pm

September 30, 2010 at 5:29 pm

September 30, 2010 at 5:35 pm
that green is amazing. also, it's been a while since i've seen an ankle bracelet look good!
September 30, 2010 at 5:48 pm
The shoes on the man on the right are rich. Great color. Were it not for the shirt he's wearing below that khaki jacket, i'd like the look.
I'm sorry, but the guy in the middle looks like a mess. I like the green hue, but that's it.
I love that cardigan! It's from The Gap, a few years ago.
September 30, 2010 at 5:54 pm
My favourite image for ages! The effortless cool. Check out his ankle.
September 30, 2010 at 6:04 pm
so AWESOME! who are these people?!
September 30, 2010 at 6:09 pm
What can I say…I love the loafers…such a surprise as I scrolled down! XO Valerie
September 30, 2010 at 6:14 pm
Love the rolled up jeans with loafers and also the way he has his cap. x
September 30, 2010 at 6:16 pm
I think those are the skinniest ankles I've ever seen.
September 30, 2010 at 6:20 pm
am not usually a fan of the "cap-on-backwards" look, but this guy has tilted it in a way that looks pretty good – adds to his very regal face. his shoes are gorgeous
September 30, 2010 at 6:22 pm
I love this– classic, relaxed, casual, and fun! bravo!
September 30, 2010 at 6:29 pm
Ha ! Les dandys ! Love it !
September 30, 2010 at 6:47 pm
I like the guy in the green shirt, it looks fresh out of the package. And with that camo hat, it looks great. I like the ankle bracelets too.

Purple loafers?? Wow!
September 30, 2010 at 7:58 pm
Gansta! They be stylin'
September 30, 2010 at 7:59 pm
i LOVE the mix of street fashion mixed in with runways with these posts. I also love the man in the camel jacket and the hint of the patterned shirt underneath. It's the perfect on trend shout out to the 70s but simultaneously keeping it current.
I don't have to love everyone's outfit to appreciate the sense of being comfortable with your own style and OWNING it. Both of these men do that.
September 30, 2010 at 8:07 pm
September 30, 2010 at 8:21 pm
my word, I love this photo.Rich, dense…
The Clothes You Wear
September 30, 2010 at 8:35 pm
oolala, too much too comment on, so I will just point out that the string ankle bracelet with the loafers puts it over the edge.
September 30, 2010 at 9:18 pm
hes handsome. i like those tall skinny men. i like the gold he is wearing. he definetly creats something of his own with this look.
Emily and Abigail
September 30, 2010 at 9:21 pm
lusting his style (on the left) The shoes and the cropped pants are my fav part :)
September 30, 2010 at 9:34 pm
Love the mixes here… and the man in front makes his hat look like a crown. Nice.
September 30, 2010 at 9:41 pm
They're so striking! I love it, and their style/attitudes!
September 30, 2010 at 10:07 pm
Slim guy we've seen before here–and called him a prince as we inquired about the jersey cuff peeking out of his jacket. No? And rakish headwear made into a crown then, too.
Rosenfeld & Dwornikovski
September 30, 2010 at 11:05 pm
wow, the guys look like from "Coming to America" :)
September 30, 2010 at 11:13 pm
They are Abdoul Diallo (left) and Mobolaji Dawodu (right), part of the style team at the FADER magazine and two of the coolest, realest ppl in NYC
September 30, 2010 at 11:24 pm
Dont really find either of them very stylish but thats just me
September 30, 2010 at 11:31 pm
How cool are they?
September 30, 2010 at 11:43 pm
Finally a different type of stype being shot : ) good job sartorialist!
October 1, 2010 at 1:01 am
I love the splash of military the hat adds flavor.
October 1, 2010 at 1:05 am
Those are some cool cats right there xxxhttp://reallyliteral.blogspot.com/
October 1, 2010 at 1:17 am
what a ool mixture of old and new school on the guy in the green shirt. amazing.
Danielle is right about the guy in yellow though.
Ilove how you always find such characters.
Have a great weekend.
October 1, 2010 at 1:27 am
There is something that draws me in to the photo…Perhaps it the guy in the green with his subtle coolness…Casual Chic …I love it!
October 1, 2010 at 1:33 am
I like the style of the man in green better.
October 1, 2010 at 2:21 am
I love the way their coats communicate to each other: the green colour stands for youth, while the yellow for maturity!
Thank you for this shot!
October 1, 2010 at 2:48 am
The ankle bracelet is praticular, but in these mixed styles I prefer only the man on left shoes , so "bon ton"
October 1, 2010 at 2:59 am
love the shoes!
October 1, 2010 at 3:18 am
I have to disagree again. The outfit on the left makes the guy look like a clown.
October 1, 2010 at 3:19 am
October 1, 2010 at 3:51 am
Great styles !!! Love it ;)
IS THIS IT? models review
October 1, 2010 at 3:54 am
I like a lot… even if I'm a little bit scared by the little I see of the shirt of the man on the right… *_*'

God, I want his ankles.

October 1, 2010 at 6:25 am
Brother got style. Talk about cool.
October 1, 2010 at 7:37 am
Two days ago I've watched "House Party" with Martin Lawrence.I can see, that the old-school style is still alive.
October 1, 2010 at 8:42 am
The guy with the green shirt has a great watch! It is like a cool vintage but with a (probably) self made band – absoloutely creative and ironic…
October 1, 2010 at 9:33 am
I like the way he wears his jeans and I just love the brown shoes but I son't really like the hat…
October 1, 2010 at 9:46 am
I really adore the green man's loafers pair up with his blue jeans….. GREAT MIX!!
October 1, 2010 at 9:52 am
Typical NYC style. :) it's cool.
October 1, 2010 at 10:03 am
Must we always become so hung up on what Scott is trying to say? Just look at this photograph in its entirety!
The colors in the background, the sun beginning to drop, the rich and varied hues of color the two gentleman are wearing. Height variations and poses of the two men. I could go on and on. Sometimes it not all about the clothing!
A beautifully composed photograph. Thank you Scott for sharing beauty.
October 1, 2010 at 10:08 am
Some of you are really silly, This is a perfect example of personal style. The man in the green is wearing the most simple pieces – jeans, loafers, button up but in a personal creative fun way. Bravo! I LOVE!
October 1, 2010 at 10:10 am
Oh baby. Why aren't their stylish men like this in my city!! I categorically hate rolled pants and loafers but I'm almost willing to excuse them for this gentleman. And the guy in back personifies taking a look that can be hard to swing without looking overly retro and making it work because you're confident in your own skin. Bravo.
October 1, 2010 at 10:12 am
The photos/clothes are always wonderful on the blog – but when you catch a feeling, the feeling of being in the presence of these people, when the photo conveys some kind of atmosphere, when it intrigues, when I want to know more about these people – that's amazing photography. This photo is amazing photography.
October 1, 2010 at 10:13 am
ha. looks kinda cool, in a way :)
October 1, 2010 at 10:14 am
Some photos on the blog are observations of trends, of expensive, high fashion. But what I love is the real people – not the moneyed perfection, rather when a photo catches the style, the lifestyle, of someone. These men are fabulous.
They are real.
October 1, 2010 at 10:18 am
Great looks, great picture.
October 1, 2010 at 10:20 am
kick ass NYC cool.
October 1, 2010 at 10:48 am
Abdoul is king! Bape, Hugo, Gap and ACNE! So Fun. Praises due. GIVE THIS MAN SOME RECOGNITION!
October 1, 2010 at 11:57 am
Wearin' it (camo) high & tight!
October 1, 2010 at 12:00 pm
some of the best dressed men i've seen in a long time
October 1, 2010 at 12:36 pm
The shoes on the guy in the green shirt are off the hook.
October 1, 2010 at 12:41 pm
Ah a man who has rolled up his jeans at the ankles! Finally. Looks great.Find out more PAris Fashion Week shows http://bit.ly/80qgAH
October 1, 2010 at 3:09 pm
These guys look so stylish. The guy in the green especially knows how to put together classics in a very unique way.
What I am confused about are some of the comments. Why do we have to think of the "Fresh Prince of Bel Aire" or "Coming to America". I've watched both, and I am not seeing the similarities, except for the skin color.
October 1, 2010 at 3:11 pm
Not feeling the camo snap back. Other than that I love the combination and placement of the accessories on the young man on the left. The man on the right, as someone mentioned, has a very nice presence. His shoes are great too.
October 1, 2010 at 3:35 pm
I wear my jeans rolled up like that all the time!!!
October 1, 2010 at 4:35 pm
That Theophilus London swag…

October 1, 2010 at 5:32 pm
October 1, 2010 at 7:47 pm
Love it! It's like time warp; The guy to the left makes me think of the 90s and the guy on the right screams 70s! Imagine what a morph of these to decades would manifest in an outfit!
October 1, 2010 at 9:23 pm
that guy on the right looks SO familiar. i think he's an artist of some type. love this hot by the way. i think i'll try the jeans and loafers look. :)
Ringo, have a banana!
October 2, 2010 at 6:39 am
Seriously, two of my favorite dudes in NYC!!
October 2, 2010 at 8:35 am
October 2, 2010 at 12:07 pm
Abdoul Diallo, the fella on the left! You can see his ankle bracelets again here in the photo; I believe he's a fashion contributor to Fader Magaznie. Check him here:http://www.thefader.com/2010/09/16/new-york-fashion-week-the-street-style-of-abdoul-diallo/
October 2, 2010 at 3:12 pm
I moved from the east village 15 years ago. Recently, when I go back, I notice a more conservative style and miss people dressing like this. Great work guys. Keep it up!

I had the pleasure of seeing the younger gentleman in person during NYFW. He was sitting front row at the Y3 show. His presence is soo sweet and innocent. I definitely want to keep seeing his face ;)

So Sick, camo hat, denim, shoes. perfect street style, hes killing it.
October 5, 2010 at 11:22 am
I love it! He was able to successfully reinvent an urban 90's hip hop look into something that is still fresh and modern.
October 5, 2010 at 5:04 pm

October 18, 2010 at 2:16 pm
A very artistic shot. The camo, the diagonal stripes, the tall and shorter, one facing and the other turned. These guys look like thinkers and I'd really like to hear one of their conversations. The shot would also be good converted to paint – in a loose style, not too precise. It's just good, without needing a lot of explanation. Their fashion is their own. It hasn't been dictated to them, I think.
October 25, 2010 at 3:56 pm
These guys run a style blog called http://streetetiquette.com/
October 27, 2010 at 5:22 pm
^These gents do not run street etiquette, different guys.
