Robert Polet is very chic that’s true. It was pretty funny that he had only dealt with Frozen Food (at Unilever) before he comes to Gucci… But he definitely looked the part… People may not like what he did with Gucci but it is a good job in financial terms anyway.
I think there are so many cliches associated with tweed (college professor, staid Brit, etc) that whenever one wears it you have to go either truly traditional (and further the cliches) or wear it with innovative pieces and, to paraphrase Paula Abdul, make it your own!!! For the bottom picture, I believe he does neither, but I bet he is warm! Love the pic on the top. Jorge from WPB
This clothing could have made him look like he was trying way to hard, the blazer, turtle neck, AND a cup of tea? But its the grin of self knowledge combined with fun that lets him pull it off so well.
See how his clothes fit? Snug and smooth agains his body? See how none of the buttons strain, the sleeve inset seam rests on the point of his shoulder, the jacket cuffs end just beyond his wrists. He uses many colors and some layers to create texture and interest. If his pants cuff above his ankles, I will be so disappointed. But, I bet his socks are little peeps of surprise. Thank you, and well done.
A full sized gentleman in well proportioned clothing showning 2 sides to his personality with reference to each city.Man maketh the clothes not the other way round
This gentleman makes me smile. He’s so bright-eyed! When a person like that smiles at you, you can’t help but smile back. :-) I like the outfit in the second photo, great color combination.
So what if he IS Robert Polet. People that run companies can have style too. What gets me in these photographs is the CHARM that eminates through the lens. His smile makes me want to smile back. He smiles with his eyes. It is a wonderful thing to capture. Thanks sart.
Inspiring in a different way- looking comfortable and composed in any situation. My shirt cuffs never show when I wear a knit shirt or sweater with a jacket- reassuring to see that his don’t, either.
Very adorable man. Looks very comfortable and friendly. looking very sharp! Like his dress sense – the combination of casual with elegant. And of course the italian espresso in his hands does really make the difference!
AW he’s so cute look at his face! He seems so sweet! Top outfit is very sharp, bottom one is equally so. He reminds me of Franklin the Turtle with the turtleneck and smile :D
Even above the clothes and the pose he has to maintain, a real happy man. I don’t know his life, I don implicate complete satisfaction, I´m writing only about that victory implicated in be able to smile to photographers whit out no sign of hesitation.
Scott, I contacted you when I was finishing a book cover portrait, trying to find an image of a man in a double breasted jacket. THERE WERE NONE. Now, they seem to have sprung up everywhere. Serendipity. Now, at least I know my fictional subject will be in sartorial style. Best regards, Marigail
This gentleman has been added to my “damp towel” list… his clothes are dropdead in both shots, but he could make a damp towel look chic. Anything he wears plays second to that face. His expression is so warm and genuine and charming. I can’t say if he’d shake my hand or kiss it, but I am certain either one would make me weak in the knees.
I’m so glad to see 2 other commenters see the resemblance to Jack Lemmon.

What I love with this man is simple: He’s appropriate for himself, his position and his age.
No logos screaming at me. No awful too short pants. No “look at how fashionable I am” false details and NO cigarette!
AND he has happy eyes, his most important detail.
