The fur collar in the first picture is so fantastic. While I’ve been longing for Spring, that beauty makes me wish it were cold for a little while longer.
April 14, 2009 at 5:42 pm
Each outfit would be fabulous without the fur.

April 14, 2009 at 5:59 pm
Wow. I love the “blue” note to the french look this season. So classic and clean. And she looks GREAT. except for the wedding ring =(
April 14, 2009 at 6:06 pm
In the first picture the color of the jacket, the fur and her hair go perfectly together. Beautiful!
April 14, 2009 at 6:08 pm
fur isn’t my thing, but she wears it the way it should be worn – not too much, and in just the right shades.
April 14, 2009 at 6:12 pm
The simplicity of the white t-shirt with the texture and colour of the jacket in the first picture make it work for me. Er, that & the fact the wearer has that coy Carla Bruni thing going on.

April 14, 2009 at 7:00 pm
Both pictures are lovely, but that tweed jacket in the top photo is something special and it goes so well with her hair.
April 14, 2009 at 7:04 pm
1st pic – sooo effortlessly chic! would have been nice with a scarf rather than fur though..
April 14, 2009 at 7:07 pm
GORGEOUS! Especially the first pic! How does she make a fur collar so effortlessly chic? :)xx
April 14, 2009 at 7:11 pm
LOVE the first. So gorgeous! It just works–the coat, hair, bag….not a big fan of fur, though. ):
April 14, 2009 at 7:23 pm
I’m usually not a fan of fur, but she looks so fabulous with the fur scarf (top photo). I love the simplicity of her outfit, and topping it off with the blazer and the Chanel bag is very old English-prep and I love it!
April 14, 2009 at 7:29 pm
the first outfit would be so boring without the fur!the fur is perfectly placed, in both photos.
April 14, 2009 at 7:30 pm
the Milanese is a touch more casual and free than the Frenchie IMONice contrast.
April 14, 2009 at 7:40 pm
no matter how disturbed i am by the fur, i can’t help but admit she looks amazingly put together in that first shot.
April 14, 2009 at 7:42 pm
Beautiful fake fur. Have to respect the taste these ladies show AND have to respect their respect for animals.
April 14, 2009 at 8:21 pm
As Rachel Zoe would say… I die!
April 14, 2009 at 8:24 pm
Although I prefer the overall look of the first photo, I’m struck by the rather original idea of fur with a leather motorcycle jacket…now I want to give it a try, too!
Always look forward to reading your posts :)
April 14, 2009 at 8:32 pm
Hot damn, both photos.
April 14, 2009 at 9:07 pm
April 14, 2009 at 9:14 pm
I’m pretending they are fake fur.

April 14, 2009 at 9:19 pm
Is that a fox-fur? It does compliment the outfit very well.
April 14, 2009 at 9:22 pm
what a gorgeous lady! I love her expression in the first photo.

April 14, 2009 at 10:02 pm
love the fur and blazer in the first photo! and coupled with the chanel bag, perfection!
April 14, 2009 at 10:15 pm
anyone know the jacket in the second photo? it’s awesome!
April 14, 2009 at 10:25 pm
The furs are lovely accessories to her outfits. Darling. Though its a shame they’re obviously realxxx
April 14, 2009 at 10:30 pm
Beauty…Amazing fur collar!!

April 14, 2009 at 11:25 pm
gorgeous! especially the first outfit
April 15, 2009 at 12:07 am
Very Chic. This is perfect.
April 15, 2009 at 12:28 am
good mood and great first pic with the jacket with fur
April 15, 2009 at 12:49 am
A little fur goes a long way with style. Love how she keeps the fur collars tonal to her jackets. Must go somewhere where I can wear fur collars. Mine get very little use in LA.
April 15, 2009 at 1:07 am
Love the motorcycle jacket. Hate the fur! (I wish it were fake.)
April 15, 2009 at 1:23 am
nice touch of luxury, a small swath of fur is better than a whole lot of it…lovely portraits
April 15, 2009 at 1:28 am
chanel bag… mmmm
April 15, 2009 at 2:20 am
I was sportin the fur collar this winter too! rad!
April 15, 2009 at 3:23 am
I thought Spring was knocking, why still the fur?
April 15, 2009 at 3:27 am
Fur, like pearls, is very flattering next the skin. i like how these photographs show two completely different colours working equally well for the wearer. i love the cut of her jacket in the top pic too.
April 15, 2009 at 4:12 am
Dark brown trousers would’ve been better than black I’d say!but she looks amazing, a beautiful lady.Would love to see her shoes though.

Very nice outfits…10x a lot for inspiring us each day :)
April 15, 2009 at 7:38 am
I love the buttons on her jacket in the first outfit.
April 15, 2009 at 7:39 am
April 15, 2009 at 8:29 am
I like the first picture better than the second except it is too much fur. It looks uncomfortable like the fur is going to swallow her head.
April 15, 2009 at 8:45 am
Beautiful girl… can’t get paste her face… I suppose the Jacket it nice.
Lucy - The Fashion Setter
April 15, 2009 at 8:53 am
I love the first jacket… could it be Missoni?
April 15, 2009 at 8:58 am
love the relaxed pant in the top photo
April 15, 2009 at 9:40 am
She is great! I love the jacket in the first pic, the fur is amazing with it! Great smile!
April 15, 2009 at 10:12 am
where did she get those fur collars? I totally adore them…esp. the sliver fox….
April 15, 2009 at 12:18 pm
I love the whole look of the top photo. the outfit is perfect, but it really is about the women behind it that nails it. her confidance, her breezy casualness, and the warmth from her smile…this is what makes this so chic, timeless and original. great photo moment!
April 15, 2009 at 1:07 pm
I see this on my Chinese students often. It’s practical and classic. In my opinion vintage furs are fine.
April 15, 2009 at 1:32 pm
Two great photos.
The color in those furs is amazing, the second one is almost pearly blue
April 15, 2009 at 1:59 pm
It’s so darnn chic.
April 15, 2009 at 2:02 pm
I hope it’s fake fur, because each outfit would be amazing without it.
April 15, 2009 at 2:31 pm
This is inspiring! Very simple twist to add to any outfit…:)
April 15, 2009 at 3:04 pm
They are not pictures of the same girl. Is the second picture Franka Potente?
April 15, 2009 at 3:52 pm
I love that the other parts of these ladies' outfits look as if they were going somewhere normal on any given day (if that is possible in Milan & Paris), and then threw something glamorous around their necks that make both ensembles swoon-worthy.
Browsing your website is encouraging me to throw caution to the wind when I dress each day (I live/work in the DC area and everything's so plain here). You only live once and you might as well have fun and look spectacular, even on a "normal" day.
April 15, 2009 at 7:02 pm
They both look so natural, pretty and stylish! and, they’re both wearing fake fur, which makes the look even better. Real fur is so out!!! out, out, out.
April 16, 2009 at 12:56 am
More than Beautiful…Love the fur on her!
April 16, 2009 at 8:31 am
She is so classic and the fur is beautiful. (fur is the same as leather, so if you ‘refuse to wear real fur’ you are also against leather…)
April 16, 2009 at 11:55 am
Love the first outfit really much. Love the bag and the coat especially.
April 16, 2009 at 10:45 pm
Are these the same ladies? Both outfit in these pics are looking very good!
April 17, 2009 at 12:13 am
She is gorgeous in both shots! The fur adds a touch of luminosity that is perfect. I don’t think it has to be real fur in order to look good.
April 17, 2009 at 12:56 am
Lovely wow. just wow (dot)
April 19, 2009 at 5:16 am
absolutely adorable, looks very neat. great photos
April 20, 2009 at 12:46 pm
Love the fur scarves! <3
April 20, 2009 at 6:47 pm
The leather jacket is Yigal Azrouel – he does the BEST leather.
April 22, 2009 at 6:36 pm
the fur on these girls looks amazing… who cares if its rel when it looks like that… better on them im thinking… and loving the tweed jacket also !
April 24, 2009 at 9:38 pm
Great outfit. It just shows that girls need not reveal skin to look fabulous :D
April 26, 2009 at 1:11 pm
That is how fur should be worn, demure, not in a crazy ‘i shot a bear and threw it on’ j’lo way
May 3, 2009 at 6:59 pm
what a doll.
May 9, 2009 at 1:52 am
oh my if I were them, I’d definitely wear them during bedtime! LOL
Love it sooo sooo much!

I love the top one, fur in itself is not a bad thing its how you get it, if its simply butchering the animal for its skin then I do not approve but if it didn't suffer and used afterward for their meat or something I don't mind. I just love the top one and her jacket is great too :)

Sandra, when is the last time you ate a mink sandwich? Personally I am fine with fur if its vintage, but tend to stay away from it otherwise, but I don’t think it is really a big problem. Habitat destruction is sort of what gets species on the endangered list. So, really wear all the fur you want. Just try not to have like five kids. It always makes me laugh how people decide to be vegans, get outraged at how badly chickens are treated, throw paint at Anna Wintour, but then have six kids. In the end they did more harm then anyone else.

I have to admit, if you stay here in North America… its a whole different perspective on fur here, than in Europe. Anywhere you go in Europe (did a Europe trip this winter) and you see men and women wearing fur – either jackets, accessories, or fur-collared jackets. Its part of European culture from what I saw. But it is not in North America, which is why its so controversial.
fur leather jacket

admire this jacket its nice
April 17, 2014 at 11:22 am
In this day of enlightenment, to wear fur is cruel. The fur was probably supplied by a Chinese fur farm where there are no animal welfare laws and labor is cheap. The filthy conditions of the fur farms and the cruelty and horror inflicted to the animal… By the time she bought it, it’s been dyed and stitched a designer label – how civilized, chic and precious! I can imagine plenty of other ways to accessorize.
