Id love to know what kind of equipment you use- i mean you surely cannot run around with a big stativ all the time? And do you actually work on the finished photo (e.g. photoshop)?

May 27, 2009 at 9:10 pm

Perfect description of what inspires Sydney design
May 27, 2009 at 9:48 pm
Dreamy AND into fashion? Oh, please tell me he’s straight, oh please oh please oh pleaseohpleaseohpleeeeeeeease!
May 27, 2009 at 11:33 pm
I really like this guy. He’s very straight forward, and his style reflects that.

adam kimmel and band of outsiders just rock this season. loved the collections.

His description of Sydney style is dead-on.Though you may want to change the word “Thong” to “Thongs”, because in case you weren’t aware, he’s referring to what Americans call ‘Flip-Flops’.

*love at first pleat*
please god, let him be single and straight. i’ll be your riveting rosie.

Way to gooooO!!!
May 28, 2009 at 9:00 am
wow he’s absolutely spot on about sydney style, it is generally VERY ELECTRO… a bit too much actually.
May 28, 2009 at 9:01 am
I like the wide leg jean rolled up the way he has. It looks like something that could have been worn in the ’40s or ’50s.
May 28, 2009 at 9:18 am
genuine style. the pleats would be a bit dowdy on me, though.
May 28, 2009 at 9:26 am
How about what does the name “Three Over One” mean? (Three colors over one color? 3/1? That’s a printing reference – I know because I’m in advertising. But it could be something else.)
May 28, 2009 at 9:31 am
Very refined yet comfy.
May 28, 2009 at 9:45 am
See also Albam (London) and Old Town (Norfolk).

I think it’s great that you’ve been able to find such diverse styles and expressions down under! In my experience as a Swede living in Sydney the “relaxed look” as Jim is describing tended to take over and become a bit boring. Especially for a Swede as I hope you have experienced up here in the North! :) Next time be brave and step outside the box, welcome to my hometown of Gothenburg! I promise you won’t be dissapointed!
May 28, 2009 at 9:20 pm
wow, another person who dress like me…higher waisted pants, w/pleats…comfort! yeah!
May 28, 2009 at 10:23 pm
humphrey bogart always wore those high-waisted pants with his shirt sleeves rolled up. and i have always found it sexy but you have to have a particular body type for it. i don’t think it works on very slim men. a broader chest looks best. i would love to see this same vintage workwear inspiration in a women’s line. think rosie the riveter. -k8b8

he looks like the kind of man that can punch through solid steel but be gentle enough to cradle a newborn child….there is only one other man that fits this description and i am sure Mr. Thompson knows who he is…Legends!

This look is one my BF loves. I don’t like these pants on women but on some men they look good. I love nostalgia and 40′s and relaxed style. He’s got a great look.
More classic so right up my alley.

May 30, 2009 at 2:08 am
I am going to go and find his shop. I love his sense of style.
May 30, 2009 at 2:33 am
Interesting comment on australian style – it’s not really like that everywhere – melbourne now is much more european and subtle than that, the style he said is what was in here a while ago
May 31, 2009 at 1:57 am
Yay! Go Aussie!! Aww I’m feeling a little proud.
May 31, 2009 at 4:23 pm
I love the blue on blue and I enjoy seeing denim the way it was intended…durable and casual.
Make it an Outstanding Day!
